What sort of track editor doesn't have grandstands?

Just getting your attention there guys. Seriously I love this game but a the track editor doesn't have many objects. One of the problems I found last night whilste making Stade De France is your cant put bridges diagonally. Shame about that one!!

Also a plain black texture tile would of been nice.

Great game this one and I just hope more and more people buy it as 16 cars online at the same time is bloody awesome.

Yes, unfortunately the amount of tiles is a bit limited. If the game gains popularity, there will probably be more default tiles in the future, though.

It is, however, possible for anyone to make completely new tiles or as an extreme case, make the whole track as one track image (plus one pattern image) but I admit that this is quite hard and not something that everyone could do. There are instructions in doc/README-mod.txt for making new tiles and you can ask for help and suggestions if you decide to give it a try. But of course, it would be better if there already were all those tiles...

If I made the track all as one tile I am guessing that other players would be able to still download it?

Yes, they should be able to do that. The size can of course be much more than usually and the track would consist of at least three files (trk file, pat.png file and png file to which there is a reference in the trk file) instead of two.
