It's quite hard to realize, but you need photoshop to create them.

I'm planning to make a tutorial for creating a PS track, it's in my todo list (entry 732). If anybody understands spanish, there is one made by MRO guys. That's the way I learnt.

It depends how you're going to do your track. I myself have used the compination of Inkscape to draw the tracklines and then editing the track line on GIMP and making the pattern. Photoshop may be a bit easier to use than GIMP but it's a lot more expensive also.

I use Inkscape (make track shape), Photoshop (make track shape beautiful) , TS track editor (make beautiful track shape playable) and Windows Media Player (keep Mouse motivated to work longer and make beautiful tracks that are playable).

I have now Inkscape & GIMP2(free, so I forgot Photoshop). First i need to learn to use those programs  Lets start with inkscape, is there any "tricks" that i need to know when drawing track shape (formats, size & stuff like these)? Thanks if someone bothers to give some help/hints.

You just need to mess around in inkscape to learn a technique. I only use 2 tools: Pencil (10th down) and Node tool (2nd down). Mess with them and you will figure it out... it took me a bit to get a "talent" for it.
