Who is TS Husain Bolt

Post by Whiplash » Mon Aug 24, 2009 6:14 pm

You want to find out who is „TS Husain Bolt“? Do it with my new Sprint tracks.
It's something like Full NON-Contact race. So, everybody have to be fair. Ups, I almost forgot, no doping and no sex changing.

I saw those tracks and they seem great. Maybe you could make new ones with more curves also (zigzag, for example)? Tijny could explain how to obtain EXACTLY the same track shape easily (creating one "lane" and then reproducing it for n times in different position).

1 word, TileGroups. It's all documented in data/tiles2.til. If you have any specific questions on how to make them, feel free to ask.

Ups. You need to know that I'm newone here. I don't know who or what is that scars shit. These track type isn't that orginal idea that can got only one person. Anyway, that wasn't my intention as well. I just use this topic to promote my track, not my 'orginal' idea.

So you stole the idea from NASCAR then, right? The "idea" of multiple lanes on a race track....

I'll show you a track of mine dating back to 2005 with this idea, people get the same ideas sometimes, don't go calling Whiplash a thief.

Whiplash, keep going with your stuff.

hmm..i've been a fan of 100m sprints and similar disciplines since times of carl lewis...
after bolt made his 9.69 record i thought a moment about turbo sliders modification too and im happy to see there seem to be interests by trackmakers.
after the 9.58 i had more concret ideas but i know im too lazy to create tracks like that, so..after reading this topic i made a short mspaint jpg and uploaded it:

Image

if pic not visible, you probably have to enter
http://www.janipenttinen.com/~mikenike/Tracks
and then copy target under....

the main criterias are of course: max laprecord should be something around 9.4 sec whatever, but it should be hard to get under 10 anyway;
and yes, like in scarts, some different speedlines (middle one = fastest, slowdown starts the more you are away from the middle) define how fast you can drive... - and there might have to be not just 3 speedlines like in the jpg, there might have to be at least 5 (or 7 or 9 depending on the width) - middle speedline could be very thin.
speedlines should be somewhat visible though, so people can aim in curves
so all in all, the 100m would look a bit like a short distance with 1 or 2 curves (hurdles ;P)[/img]

SCARTS is Stock Car Auto Racing on Turbo Sliders. Belive me it's not shit. Scorpio why don't you research before you post stuipid things?

mouse - nascar's "multiple lanes" is unintentional and was found because of the momentum it carries. only recently (2008) did they start adding banking to the higher grooves....scarts started 2007 i said that because he was at our server and watched us race before he got banned for being at a private event...then shortly after i saw this post

Not true.I was on your server, but I didn't watch you. (I wanted, but I couldn't because I didn't have 'night mode') You allready know that.

No need to make a new post for such a small correction 1 day later, there's an 'edit' function too. ;)

OH, so track designers played some SCARTS tracks in 2007 and said "oooh good idea!" I know that's not what you mean, but that's what it looks like you're saying. You're being ridiculous.

Tracks with higher banking were being designed well before 2008 by the way. Did you see them re-do Bristol and think that was the first time they did it?

Try to learn something.

mouse...yout a complete dolt..you think im implying sumething while im not...seeing how you take things out of contrast showes your iq, you sound like the 6th graders on my bus last year.."banking" has been around since the start...progressive banking since 08...i never said they (nascar) copied us..nor am i claiming we "own" that..considering the idea based from nascar..

OK, I wanted to get my voice in here as I 'introduced' driving lanes for SCARTS. I placed multiple grooves on the track because of the realism to real life, its no stolen idea, its a physical phenomena that needs to be encorporated on oval racetracks. I am NOT the first person to do this, rather my method is a different approach that works for what we need it for.

If an oval is flat (like the Arena track as an example), the fastest way around is to take the bottom. Banking on a road surface allows you to carry your straightaway speed into the turn with the road angle preventing your car from flying off the racetrack. As a result, you are able to retain the speed you had down the straight which allows you to 'keep up' with those driving in the lower lane having to adjust their top speed to hold the bottom groove. All NASCAR ovals have what is called 'progressive banking' which sets up side-by-side racing. If we are to design their tracks, much like you guys are for Formula 1, we need to encorporate the realism as much as possible.

Oval racing would be dull if it weren't for programming the multiple grooves on the racetrack to allow you to continually set up passes on people.

In my opinion, I don't mind if people use the driving lines idea for their tracks as long as they don't claim ownership of thinking of it first. I'm not claiming that I 'created' them as I know for a fact I'm not the first person to create this but I am open to sharing my idea with you all, which I have been. Good to know Mouse had some prior experience.

Here are some pics of how the banking affects the quality of racing in SCARTS. These kinds of formations will be hard to do if there was no banking in the turns to allow this.

Which is exactly why I wrote:

I'll say again, progressive banking has been around well before 2008. Well before it.

Why don't you get your facts straight before you start typing that nonsense. This is irony at it's very best.

EDIT: Sorry Burnout, should not ignore your post. That's some cool stuff man, I should give it a try, seeing as my attempt at doing that a few years ago failed.
