F-Zero remake, beta

Post by Keppana » Fri Dec 10, 2010 10:28 am

F-Zero is a futuristic racing game made way back to SNES gaming console. So i thought this game could be remade for TS. I've tried to make these tracks to look and feel as much to the original game, but some glicthing and cheating on these tracks is not possible, as if you take a look on youtube videos ;)

At the moment, there are 5 of the original tracks and 2 of the original vechiles remade. The original game has 15 tracks (some of these tracks is just named as "Mute City II", "Death Wind II" and has little changes to the original track).

Original tracks:
Here's some images of the tracks, video links and track download links.

The cars:
There appeared 4 cars in an original game, but after several testing i found that Wild Goose was just useful. It was managed to be slower than other cars, but has more grip, so it's just like a moving chicane on a track. Golden Fox was also meant to be in TS, it was planned to be the fastest car with lowest grip, even lower grip than Fire Stingray has, so that "rocket turtle" was also dropped off from this package.

The cars in this package; Blue Falcon, which is a base car, and Fire Stingray, which has more straight speed, but has less corner grip. Base of the cars it's 50cc Jazzy Kart which just fit perfect for these tracks (EasySlider, Speeder and Slider would also do of the TS default cars).

Missing things:
Tracks are missing some of the original things of the tracks; on-the-fly pitting (there are not at all pits in these tracks, on-the-fly pitting is not possible in TS?), taking damage off the tires (that could be possible), in-game music.

Great job man. At first, I thought you tried to remake this:

As I could analyse the videos, you should reduce the speed a little bit, and reduce the sliding too.
Once again, good job.

That looks really nice, like Turbo Sliders with missiles. It could be possible with just one kind of missiles, but i'm not very sure if it's possible with multiple kind of missiles and an option to choose between different kind of weapons. There seem to be also active moving space background which ain't probably possible to do (witout modding the game itself?).

Myes, speed of the vechiles could be some less, they are so fast and slippery that you need to tap your keyboard all the time to get a correct control of the car :p That's a bit hard at first and you always need few races to get the touch.

Edirol: I made a test with a car with a bit slower speed, that's way better. Car handling is easier and it doesn't get to sliding too easy.

,

If will have Many Weapons

Maybe the most powerful weapons should be limited, so we would have to manage our weapons

I tried out the cars and some tracks on Friday. They were awesome, I suggest everyone just try them out.... I'd say these tracks are competition-worthy!

Hell yeah for F-Zero!! Btw, can you also do the other tracks like Port Town, Fire Field, etc. And other machines such as Black Bull, White Cat, etc? I love F-Zero!
