Check out Hengaris http://www.sliderpoint.tk/ for some good guides on how to make tiles, and check the turbo sliders documentation in Jollygood Games\Turbo Sliders\doc folder.

Ok.. i try:benzinfurz wrote:probably u can send or make a screenshot of your .trk-file
it makes answering much easier
1) Open an Editor with option "-ar 1"
2) Make a Empty Track Named "Number-Eight.trk"
When i make new Empty Track i have a new file named "Number-Eight-pat.png":
3) Trying to use the same technique used from TSB (for make TSB F1 Pack 2.0) I copy these Empty png file in one new image named "Eight-pat.png"
Now i want to make track in the original png file "Number-Eight-pat.png":
4) Open this file with GIMP and make the tracks and open a pat file from TSB F1 Pack to pick the correct color for road and other object like sand etc. etc.(Es. TSB_Imola-pat.png)

5) With this color make a road in my "Number-Eight-pat.png"

Now i saved this file and try to open this track with Editor of TS for add some Rock... grass.. ecc. ecc. :
6) The Editor Appears ALL BLACK... and the created tracks with GIMP not appears.... because ??

What it's this the road maked with GIMP ???
Apparently you don't really understand how pattern files work, so I'll try to explain:
The pattern file needs to be an indexed PNG-file.(or, a PNG file with a color pallette) Every color id represents a terrain in terrains.ter. For example, color id 2 represents terrain id 2, in this case normal tarmac. Therefore, every pixel filled with color id 2 (usually #6e6e6e, as you have found out) will be treated as tarmac. So, it's not about the color itself, not at all. Instead, it's about the color id in the pallette the color has.
Hope that helped.

If I understand right, you want to remove a misplaced tile after it's too late to use backspace?
You can use a text editor. First check in the track editor which id nr the tile has, and it's coords. Then use the search function in the text editor to find the right line to erase.
Or you could possibly try Jazzy's track editor... I think you can select and erase any tile with it: http://www.jazzyclub.net/
