GPOR-Form1 server
Hi there,
there have been several players asking for a new GPOR-Form1 open season. Previous server was hosted by ape3000, who stopped TS-server hosting (but anyway, stummihouse wouldn't pay for that server anymore).
At the moment we have 5 community servers:
[BEL] - default cars racing
[USA1]- dark international tournament
[USA2] - ranking tracks & default cars
[USA3] - punaball 2vs2
[POL] - yet to be configured
I don't know yet if [POL] community server's hoster is available to host a F1 season (traffic would be quite high, considering the amount of people playing that mod).
Can anybody host a dedicated community server with FTP access (to upload tracks, cars, macros, etc..) and eventually SSH access (in order to restart the server if it crashes)? User credentials to access the server won't be shared with anybody except me and eventually the hoster of GPOR F1 statistics (TS community admins won't have access to your server).
The other question is, who wants the GPOR-Form1 server? I want to see how many fans of that mod read the forum.

Re: GPOR-Form1 server
When that server disappeared, TS pretty much died I think.dede wrote:The other question is, who wants the GPOR-Form1 server? I want to see how many fans of that mod read the forum.
I myself like F1, but I wouldn't want to encourage it too much. It would be wonderful if more people took some notice of what TS is supposed to be. Well, of course, F1 is a lot of fun, and it fills up very easily, so it would be a good idea to 'bring it back'.
BTW, sorry if anything I'm saying is incorrect.

I agree.Darx wrote:When that server disappeared, TS pretty much died I think.
When GPOR server was on, u could play against somebody everytime.
Many new players was coming.
Now, it seems that TS will die in a short time.
And there's no server with bots for racing against "something", while waiting for "somebody".
I vote for a GPOR F! server resurrection.

This was one server I would race aside from my own Sliders league. The driving is way more on the fair side than the Terra open servers even though I'm not fond of the car handling in my opinion. I would like to see GPOR the way it was someday again. TS may have died publically, but I still very much use it daily.
"That boy has got alot of talent, if only he can harness it on a weekly basis."
i'm not sure anymore, but did the gpor f1 server have any lags?
maybe i had some or it was just warpy, maybe not...
anyway, i can remember some nice races
what did stummihouse pay for this server?
if there is the need/wish to have/keep an f1 server, depending on the costs and its quality, i would probably be a sponsor (my recent incomes do look fine), even i cant play at the moment (maybe with a new computer in the next months). at least as long as i dont have good possibility to play, id need someone else who configures/administrates it.

He paid few euros per month, but Ape3000 servers aren't available anymore.Mike Nike wrote:what did stummihouse pay for this server?
At the moment I'm planning to use Community Server POL to set up F1 server, but I have no clue of how stable is that and how many players it could handle. I prepared a new trackpack so everything should be more or less ready.
Another option would be the current TurboSliders Finland server, which seems to be online constantly. The only problem is that I don't know who's server hoster, so I can't contact him. Hopefully he's reading the forum and contact me
EDIT: I found the way to contact him
Few more news about servers organization.
Community Server [POL] by Bohater.net (thanks Kanedaaa) is now currently configured as GPOR-Form1 server. If we'll reach a good number of players, we'll also set up a new GPOR Open Season very soon.
Please download the trackpack before connecting to the server:

In next days the current TurboSliders Finland server will be available as Community Server [FIN], so that we won't have to worry if some servers lag or if they crash

edit: Used nicks were Gollywog, interNET, Courtney and <JOOST>KeTTiNG.
All IPs seem to be from London/Cambridge
I think we need more admins.
Suggestion (not about the terrorists problem): should be possible to start cups with random fuel on/fuel off?
I mean random cups choosed between:
- races with 4 laps and no fuel
- races with 6 (or other number) laps with fuel on
New trackpack with updated versions of hungaroring and hockenheim.
