Indeed, which is why I thought it was funny you were releasing that, as opposed to last season where you just gave a breif description.dede wrote:Hehe, yep. Actually you could reproduce the track quite easily from that pic too. You just need to find the right scale & rotation.shyguy1001 wrote:If we had a pic of the track it would be ridiculously easy to reproduce it and wank it...I think it is funny even releasing the profile, cos then we can practice tracks similar to it...
@ Lanz, more importantly, the daytona 500 is on at the same time

I'm out of the tournament and I think it's pretty obvious why. I'll state my case anyway for anyone who cares to hear. It was such a badly pulled scam that it shouldn't need any explanation.
1) What sense does it make to have pros having practice twice and newbies (I consider myself a newbie with 2.0 and gas) do it only once? Why? Because someone decided to have the top 20 only in the first practice? By the way not all the so called top 20 showed up. It's unfair, it makes no sense and it's not newbie friendly. I was there all the practices and for some reason that makes no difference. The list keep changing depending on Dede's mood and it's not based on talent nor on motivation, it's based on whoever Dede wishes to drive.
That and the obvious impatience in which Dede treats newbies (I was banned and I didn't know why. I had to ask him on MSN and he claimed that I didn't read what he wrote. My fault, of course. Strangely enough I read stuff like "I don't know how much I can take before vomiting" and weird stuff like that.
I'm sorry. It's just not fun to play like this. You take it way too serious. I'm sorry if I did anything to anyone in the race because I had no idea how the track was because I didn't practice enough and I didn't know how much gas to use as well.
That's it. I wish good fun for everyone.

I agree partly. 16th place was best possible with that training. But im not sure if the first practice session would have helped at all.
Maybe the track should be released a few minutes before the race so newbies can drive a bit?

I have to agree with you, pom. If it were up to me, everyone (including "top 20" players) who isn't there before the first practise run would just be out of luck. This is indeed totally unfair and banning just like that is the best way to cause people to lose interest, or worse. This system just doesn't work, I hope it will be changed starting from next race.

Sad to hear this from participants. I agree with the majority here and I also want to point out the following:
we must have deadlines, 21.05 [all times CET] should be the time when entries are closed, period.
then, at 21.05 sort the 'top 20' or however you call it. those who signed up get to be first and have a guaranteed spot as promised.
if there are players in the server who belonged to the 'waiting list' (sign up too late), they can come if free spots are present.
after that, if there are still free spots, anyone else who wants to, can come (I dno if you allow that, but yeah..)
the sorting shouldn't take more than 5 minutes and therefore, practice 1 should begin at exactly 21.10 CET. and then I dno, perhaps 2 min pauses between Prac 1 and Prac 2, the qualification and race (2 mins break between each). all in all, you GOTTA HAVE A SCHEDULE.
basically, if a player is LATE, HE IS LATE and that's that. it is only up to 21.05 that you should attempt to keep 2-3 free spots for those in the 'top 20 sign up list' after that you just sort out the players according to who is present. I mean, if a 'guaranteed top 20 spot' player doesn't show up in time, why would he want to race anyway? it doesn't matter to him as much then.

Lmao i love Reirom's crappy English so funny to read!

Tbh, from situations like this we just have to learn for the future. After a while it will go smoother. Just have some respect for Dede for organising this etc (Also loads of work done by Tijny, maybe even more by making the tracks etc, tell me if iam wrong here because iam not well informed lol)
My race was quite good, i crashed a bit two times.. once against Silcir and one against Reirom but it were race accidents and there was no way to get out of it. I think silcir crashed and there was no way for me to evade him. At reirom he wanted to let me pass but because i had lots more speed i also went to outside myself, what resulted in a little crash. I think Reirom behaviour is improving a lot so no probs for that. So 7th not bad result
And dang mike i was railing you, KK < AA classic preflop cooler man

i'll put in some thoughts about my race as well..
First of all, really nice track to drive. Very smooth, large enough for us to maneuver and long enough so that we don't lose tons of time trying to lap ppl.
There were some complications until the start, but i believe the more races the better things will go about ppl getting in or out.
Now the race itself, my practice went particularly bad, i really screwed up very decents laps mostly on the last couple of turns. Luckly enough it ended up not being so bad as i thought because others did have mistakes as well. so 6th after that was a nice result.
In the race i was on a 1 pit stop strategy, stopping on lap 18.
I had two major accidents, all by my fault, one of those costly for pingu for which i am sorry. They happened 1 in each stint, the second one being on the last lap, which almost cost me 5th place for pablinho eheh.
In the first stint i was battling hard with lots of guys, pingu, shyguy, lanz, mike nike, etc.. it was quite fun.
I started dropping the concentration by the end of the first stint which resulted in a series of outroad mistakes.
The second stint was much more calm i was alone for most part of it, still i did some mistakes by the end, my fingers slipped 2 or 3 times and eventually had a big crash right at the end.
The pit was smooth, but i was too much conservative and ended the race with fuel for 3 or 4 laps more.
A remark also for the lag side, i had no lag at all, not a single time, i didnt remember the last time that happened .
.
5th was all i could hope for, seeing the guys that came in front of me, it doesnt feel bad at all. Still a very nice margin left to improve considering the mistakes which were costly, and the overall pace which dropped dramatically after 10 laps or so in each stint.
And nice race etmil 5th and 8th is a nice team result also.

My concentration was on so low level. I played TS whole day in Full Contact server. Man, I just couldn't think about the race and I couldn't even remember the track. It's probably fun to watch me on video. There was one curve that I missed in almost every fuc... lap. I guess it was positioned on unexpected (right) side for me. I missed 2. practice too, because I was calculating the best fuel strategy. My calculations was perfect, but I decided to fill a little more fuel with no reason, or I wanted to be sure that I will finish the race with it.

I'd like to apologize to Dede for the words I used, such as "scam". I'm sure he thought he was doing all for the best of the league (maybe he was, I never ran one). I won't edit my last post because that would deprive people of information. I said what I said and I can't go back in time. I don't hold any grudges against anyone and I was really frustrated that things took so long (40 minutes to start) and that I had less practice time than others. I was so frustrated and I didn't drive well at all, as anyone can see.
At least Reirom won Steven Hill, which he is letting me know on MSN.

dede was terrible today, he banned me pom and steven , with any reason, if i dont have his msn, i was out of the race.. such a arrogance way, to guys that play the test races etc.
dont have 20 spot there... dede made a huge mistake, i run one pratice only because this..
sad dede is not a friendly guy, he treated newba as shit..
this was total bullshit.
tinjy was right.. i know with 2 pratic i maybe could not gain more.. but dede attitude was not good..

First of all, I apologize for the bad decisions during the first fifteen minutes. I wasn't in a good mood, and when I saw people not listening to my words ("who isn't in top20 must leave..") I simply banned them.
Anyway, people should obey the rules ("Top 20 players have guaranteed spot in next race, other players can jump in before qualifications (or when admin tells them) and spectate before of that." - first post) and respect what the hoster tells them. No matter if rules are stupid or if they are newbies or pro's.
This said, I think they managed to demonstrate that the current system doesn't work. Too much confusion and waiting, so we'll change the rules.
Players will be allowed to stay in the server as long as they are signed up. If a player in top20 shows up before the beginning of practice 1, the player in the lowest entry position will be kicked to make room.
This sounds more fair to everybody.

Race comments:
In the first practice I forgot to set fuel, so it was quite useless to drive. With empty tank the track was quite different, so I had big problems keeping the car on track in practice 2. My laptime wasn't far from Tijny's, but I had the feeling that he was much more constant and quick than me.
I decided to take low fuel in qualify and go for a 2-pit strategy. Surprisingly I drove a clean lap after 4 laps, so I decided to stop and go for a 1-pit strategy (probably I had too much fuel for a 2-pit strategy anyway). 49% ended up being quite a perfect amount for splitting equally the two stints.
The first part of the race was quite enjoying, since Tijny and Janne seemed to be more constant than me. With Janne I had a very nice battle that should be posted on youtube as a spot for the game! After some battling, I overtook Janne and so did Tijny. In the last part of first stint, Tijny seemed able to catch me, so I expected to find him ahead of me after the pit (he stopped two laps later than me). Don't ask me how it was possible, but he was still in the pitlane when I drove the last corner, so I had quite a good margin after the pit. I started to drive more constantly after the pressure went away, so there was no way for them to catch me again.

Like I say, I have not yet found a way of recording TS in a non-sucky manner, all the methods I have tried dont work, comes up really flickery... and yes, I noticed I was catching you two in the first few laps before the lags hit, but I really didnt want to because it was such a good battle to see from a little down the road, and I didnt want to disturb it with my much lower fueldede wrote: With Janne I had a very nice battle that should be posted on youtube as a spot for the game!

You took a whole practice to calc fuel strategy, lol? I think you win more time by just driving the second practice. I calc it during the race... when i do it i often make mistake though cause i calculate it without a calculatorWhiplash wrote:My concentration was on so low level. Yeah i just tried every mode, resolution and whatever using fraps again.. But it just keeps freezing when i hit F9 (record button).. Maybe other programs would work but i tried make TS vids more then a copple times already.......shyguy1001 wrote:Like I say, I have not yet found a way of recording TS in a non-sucky manner, all the methods I have tried dont work, comes up really flickery... and yes, I noticed I was catching you two in the first few laps before the lags hit, but I really didnt want to because it was such a good battle to see from a little down the road, and I didnt want to disturb it with my much lower fueldede wrote: With Janne I had a very nice battle that should be posted on youtube as a spot for the game!
That was very fun to me as well, though my physical reaction was increasing headache each lap when I tried to keep you and Tijny behind. I just couldn't stay 100% concentrated for longer than first few laps.dede wrote: The first part of the race was quite enjoying, since Tijny and Janne seemed to be more constant than me. There is actually a way to do it without screen recording software - from manual.htm:shyguy1001 wrote:Like I say, I have not yet found a way of recording TS in a non-sucky manner, all the methods I have tried dont work, comes up really flickery...dede wrote: With Janne I had a very nice battle that should be posted on youtube as a spot for the game!
This captures every frame into a bmp file, which in theory can be used to make videos without loss of quality. It does take an awful lot of disk space though, due to the nature of .bmp files.-capture <n> Capture the first n seconds as bmp files in capture folder when playing a recorded video. Use this only if you want to make videos. OpenGL is automatically disabled when using capture.
