Also because it's much closer now for each driver... Top 10 not lapped this time? So much things happen each race and i think Etmil is gonna try to prosecute me for 1 tiny move? Where he tried to go trough me... it's like if someone doesnt go to the side for Etmil he makes a complaint just like previous seasonWhiplash wrote:I was so confused by so many dirty moves on the track. I guess REIROM has right.

It's adrenaline speaking! Probably dede's gonna say 'race incident' just like you thought and I'm gonna calm down as usual. Anyway, a hi-speed look at my race and I know I made a total of like 5-6 mistakes, some smaller, some bigger and that probably cost me. Anyway, chill Pingu. I was just doing a bit of 'REIROM' talk in the server, during the aftermath. First two races, 7th and 9th, not too bad I suppose..Also because it's much closer now for each driver... I seriously don't understand how I'm so close to Lanz every race, but after pitting he's gone. I must have a garbage strategy.
Nice race, I was 13th but my mind began to think about other things and I started cutting turns and sliding everywhere, eventually falling back to 16th. Not a terrible result for only having about 24 laps practice before today.

Etmil vs Pingu has to be considered race accident: Etmil could've tried to take outer line in third last curve instead of closing on Pingu, although Pingu didn't make enough room before than that. In last curve Pingu seemed to curve a bit too much to the right while Etmil was inside, but he might've been confused by the contact-lag..
Hmm.. It certainly didn't look like a joke to me because i remember some other things from previous cupEtmil wrote:It's adrenaline speaking! Edit: Yeah Dede Thanks... but sometimes when iam slow i go to the left to let the other pass... and then he goes also to the left to take me over --> "bump". And then I don't think you have to give spot back... I think it happened at the start too but don't remember with who etc:P
I still haven't got an answer to this. I'd like to know it especially now as Reirom blocked me last race in the first lap and didn't let me pass which he in my opinion should have done.Jan wrote:Are these the rules that are in effect in this cup? viewtopic.php?t=1043
If not, is there any written version of them? Also if you block a player do you need to let him pass?
This race was very bad for me as I didn't practice hard enough I think. But a nice race anyway.
Crappy race due to a crappy fuel strategy.
I choosed to start with a lot of fuel to avoid problems with other people in the first laps, but problems came from behind when, after a few laps, I started being lapped. That was a big loss of time.
Sorry to badeend because I confused him while he was lapping me the first time.
What do you think about using very long tracks to completely avoid lapping?
Actually, if anybody starts with 100% fuel he will be lapped after few laps by people with low fuel and then again after their pit.
For example, in a race with only me and badeend (it's an example), if he starts with 100% and I start with 40%, he surely will win the race, but I probably lap him in the beginning. This has no sense.
This thing apart, this cup is becoming really competitive and this is a good thing indded, but it is going out of my mind. I need to spend too much time to be in the main race an there's no way I start in the rookie race.
I saw both rookie races until now and there's no fair rules in those races.
I know fair races and I know full contact. Rookie race is halfway and I'm not able to manage half-fairplay.
We'll see.

Yea lux, but dont forget that in the Rookie races most of the drivers are quite new or less skilled... so then it's even harder to drive nice too.... I think most of them don't do it on purpose though. I also had to drive the rookie race to get into the main race this time
Just can't drive 1 fast lap.. you can always see that on my qualify results too
I am for the idea of some longer tracks this should also hopefully reduce 5 players into 1 corner for multiple laps long,lux2 wrote:Crappy race due to a crappy fuel strategy.

Battleing with 1 car is fun battleing with 2 cars is tough (to not push someone off and keeping it clean) battleing with more then 2 is almost not do-able.
anyway thats all to add to lux his post.
furthermore when people make mistakes and get immediatly back on the track there is almost no room to dodge/overtake them you have 3 options then to do when a hit becomes almost unavoidable.
1. you try to dodge him and try to stay on the track (which is very hard with a car that doesnt turn so fast when you are at speed) and you hit dirt and lose positions.
2. you hit the back of their car and are getting annoyed they wont let you pass next corner.
3. you just push them off the road because you think they should just move ot of the way.
Dont beg for things do it yourself or else you wont get anything!!
Ok everything should be updated now. Please tell me if anything is wrong/missing.. it takes 2 hours to update everything..
Today I focused on Hevonen+Peto!+ziossi in Rookie Race, and it was the most fair battle I saw in TS. They were giving way all the time even a small contact punished one or the other.. just awesome. I believe that this can happen only if you place fairplay ahead of everything, since this kind of racing will make you lose a lot of time. Very hard for competitive/aggressive players, very hard for me as well.
Yes Jan, those are the rules that we should use. Of course, if we gave a penalty for contacts or little blocks, final standings would be decided after the race.. We will consider only "official" complaints.
Now to my race comments..
Since I was slow in this track I decided to go with two stops strategy. Pole position arrived thanks to fuel difference (my lap wasn't great.. 35.7 would've been possible). My first lap was very good: good sprint and a good gap on third place. I noticed that Tijny wasn't much slower than me, so I had to start driving on the edge as soon as possible. When I made first mistake, I had to start pushing more. And make more mistakes. That's how I lost the race. In the last part of first stint I finally found some constancy and speed, but it was too late.
In second stint I had to battle with Badeend and I unluckily wrecked him, making him lose one place. I'm sorry for that; luckily I didn't have to slow down to make him catch me (he had lower fuel, he catched me in one lap).
Third stint was quite ugly (starting from the pitstop), but that's because I was racing alone. Janne almost catched me in last laps. Phew.

Thing is, it's not so easy to make a track layout that looks good, fit it into 2000x2000 AND have the laptimes exceed 40 seconds. Making the tracks any longer would mean I'd have to use literally every piece of the available space, and I'm not really a big fan of that. But you're right, ideally the track length should be about 40-45 seconds.Whiplash wrote:Yeah, that track was too fast and too short.
Maybe tracks should be made with some average time rule: track has to be more then 42 sec long, or something.
here i am with another bitch comment/suggestion
The first corner of the last 2 tracks (and the current 1) were/is pretty much a pain in the arse,
Im wondering when we will be racing a track where you dont put almost all the risk into this first corner.
I am not the only 1 who agrees with this statement it just gets pretty boring to wank tracks where you screw up the first corner and have to drive the rest of the lap and to screw up the next lap first corners can be real motivation killers.
just wanted to get this out of my system.

rsm seems leadering...
matic failed hard rookie race..
i am still thinks one oval track come on..
indianapolis is the most famous track in world..

Hups! Am f*** ignorant, I haven't read the rules before the race - I had never thought I might be able to compete in a pro race someday. Shit, I was so content after that 11th place. Well, I hope I won't make any of that kinda stupid mistakes in the future.dede wrote:Race direction decided to punish Kapa with 20s penalty, due to wrong start fuel amount.
And, of course, sorry to everybody that suffered from my rough racing. Eventually, you've all got me.

k, I'll post my race story too then.
Before the race I had good hopes of doing well, taking into account last week's result and the fact that dede was not able to get close to my best laps on the track. I qualified well, achieving the best possible result with my fuel amount. Pole position was out of reach anyway because of dede's 2-stop strategy.
In the first few laps I had some battles with dede, which was a perfect situation for me because of our different strategies. At one point though, I drove a bad line and could've closed the door but decided to let him go instead. After that his lead fluctuated because of mistakes on his end - it was just over a second when he stopped for the first time, and at that point I knew it was going to be highly unlikely for him to beat me. And I was right, I didn't see him again after that.
The victory is satisfying, but my driving didn't feel that good - I know I can do much better. Only my last 2 laps were below 35.5, I would've liked to drive a bit more of those.

Qualification:
I hoped to obtain a 6th position or somewhere close to that but dissapointingly i ruined all my best laps and ended up with a 11th starting position.
Race:
While the first 5-7 laps was full of battleing with 4 people every corner.
I managed to get in front of Lanz in lap 7 and saw a big gap of 3.5 sec towards Pingu my car started to feel lighter and i felt more confident to drive better laps.
And so i did within 2 laps i took off 2.3 sec and it took me another 4 laps to get right behind him, Then i made mistake since i could not pass Pingu and i had to catch up to him again.
The second time i was right behind him he drove in the sand and i passed him.
Supriseingly he gave me pressure the next laps after that, It had seemed he refound his pace in needing to take me over again.
And so he did after i made a mistake.
My first pit was a disaster i overdrove the pits AT LEAST THATS WHAT I THOUGHT my car was standing still but no fuel was being added having to drive bw cost me 3 seconds and stupidly i missed 2% fuel.
(Odd thing is i watched dede in the replay and he overdrove the pits even more, but no problems for him)
I fell back to 16th place after my pit and just continued to drive laps around 36.5 with ~ 38% fuel.
When Tijny overtook me i got some spirit back in slipstreaming him and his pace,
This brought me close to Lanz who gave way for Tijny for just slammed the door on me while there was only 2 car lenghts between T and me.(i passed him thoug just a weird move from him)
I Had to pit last lap guess what i overdrove the pit again used like 4x the time anyone else would in the pit for 1-2% . . .
This gave Lanz his position back and Popowitch passed me aswell,
I managed to pass popowitch in the last lap he kinda gave me his position, great fair race by Popowitch!
(EDIT: oh Popowitch was infact a lap behind dumb me)
I ended up 13th with Kapas penalty im lucky taking 12th place home.
