Slide Night - Monday 13/6 @ 21:00 CET

I already posted the idea in another topic, but now I'm officially announcing the first Slide Night. The idea is simply to have some casual fun with sliding cars that are otherwise rarely used.

When?
Monday, June 13th @ 21:00 CET. That's 19:00 GMT. Just join the server in time and you can race.

Settings?
Cars: EasySlider, Slider, Speeder (randomly fixed)
Tracks: A random selection of 12 racing tracks.
Laps: 4
Ghost: Off
Starting order: Random
Points: 0 25 20 17 15 13 11 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 (same as Full Contact)
Server: LVP #2

I hope to be able to do 3 cups with these settings, but that kind of depends on the success.

So how should I behave on the track?
I would say it's semi-rough. No one is going to stop you from playing fair if you wish to do so, but there's really no need to wait for people when they crash into you. Some contact is allowed when overtaking, as long as it's not with the intention to ram the other driver off the road. Bottom line - don't be too fair, but not too unfair either.

If this becomes a success, I will organize it more often, like maybe once every 2 weeks. I hope to see you all there!

Hmmm, maybe it's better just to say: rough. When I hit someone , I don't want to feel like I'm doing something wrong.

It's hard to expect some unfairness with "real sliders" anyway.

Like I said, some contact is allowed when overtaking, and as long as you're not making kamizase moves total, there's nothing to feel bad about. It's perfectly possible to divebomb people off the road especially with Speeder, and that's exactly what we'll get when I label it "rough". I don't want that.

Yes, I guess it was a success. Thanks all for joining!

I will post the results for anyone who's interested, but don't place too much importance on them - this event wasn't about results, it was just a way to get together for some fun racing. All I can say is that it will be back soon, maybe next week, maybe the week after that.

I'm playing a tennis match tomorrow evening that I didn't know about until today, this means that I can't be there to host. If some other LVP admin wants to take over from me it'd be greatly appreciated (please post here if you're willing to), otherwise it's no big deal and we'll move this thing to next week.
Hosting this event is very simple as there's little or no waiting involved - just set it up before the cup starts and it will play itself out just like a normal FC cup would. The command is /source slidenight.

Aha was good fun, I missed most of Slide Night due to our router having to be unplugged because my dads study was being painted! Slider cup was good though!
