Masters of the Slide Tournament (Monday 26th of September)
We are happy to announce that this monday, 26th of September, the first Masters of the Slide race will be held.
What is it?
The Masters of the Slide is the ultimate race to decide who really is the best Easyslider in the Turbo Sliders community. No more complaints about lack of practise time. No more complaints about bumping or random starting order. This race is going to be pure racing. A new track has been specially designed for the purpose of this race... and no-one will see it before the evening of the race!
A new track? How do we know it's going to be nice?
The special Masters of the Slide track is not just any track. As we are here to decide who is the best of the best, it is only natural that we had to design a track capable of challenging the best of the best. And there isn't anyone better at doing that than our one and only Punatiainen! Yes, you heared that right, Punatiainen, designer of some of the best tracks the world has ever seen, has agreed on designing a track specially for you, drivers of Masters of the Slide.
Only one track? Doesn't that mean the luckiest will win?
We can assure you that no luck will play a part in deciding who really is the Master of the Slide. After an extensive qualifying procedure, during which you will see the track for the first time, the best drivers will qualify for the heats. Both the heats and the qualifying will be driven on the very best servers the community has to offer, no lag will harm this prestigious race. After the heats, only the very best will be able to drive the 50-lap final. That's right, 50 laps, to be driven on the same evening right after qualifying and the heats. This 50 lap ghost race will be able to seperate the real Master, from the mere greats.
Sounds good! How can I compete?
Everyone with a registered version of Turbo Sliders can compete. Signing up is easy, and above all, free! All you have to do is, leave a message here, including your nickname and an email address, or send an email to:
MastersOfTheSlide@hotmail.com
Make sure that you include your nickname.
Done! Now what?
You don't need to practise on 10 different tracks with 5 different cars to do well in this race. Just a couple of your usual Turbo Sliders rounds with EasySlider, relax and make sure you will be on time for qualifying.
Qualfying starts:
Monday, 26th September
20.00 GMT +1 (London)
21.00 CET (Amsterdam, Berlin, Rome)
22.00 GMT +3 (Finland time)
The race should be finished 2 hours later.... See you there!

When Obi asked me a few days ago, i told him i have earliest time at 21:30 (cup starts at 21:00)...and now i know for sure that i won't be able to take part.
Well, it is nice to see so many drivers are maybe taking part...
Nevertheless, like i told Obi, i think he has very overvalued this cup in his description. Surely the majority might not meant so seriously and just for advertising purposes...but still i wondered about noone has even given a comment to that, which let me fear, people are taking the cup more seriously than it should be.
Note, i would have liked to take part, but my priority for family and the lower priority for study is still higher than playing TS.
But i wish you all good luck and fun - may the best 50 lap easyslider endurance ghostracers at a new track (of Punaitianens type) win
My bets: (not including private circumstances and server etc.)
1 Tijny
2 [YO] Gi Bear
3 colt
4 [WCR] Matti
5 [Pussy] fergu
6 [Orange] Etana
7 [TL] Lzan
8 Benzinfurz
9 [Orange] Lupin
10 [WP] Pappa
11 [Orange] Chukie 8
12 [Ippon] Dede
13 Kobradog
14 [Orange] Claudia
15 sV
Hehe, okay, let my bets be totally wrong
If Peto, Razzle and Tuukka would take part, something like
Tuukka 1-2, Peto 1-2, Razzle 2-4 i would have bet.

Oh, I was just about to post the same thing with some more detailed info.
Well, here it comes anyway:
Graph
Even though it may seem like a close finish, Colt was simply the best in this race and totally deserved the win. This was a nice event, but the exact setup was a bit "unclear" to me (and others) until the qualifying laps were already driven - maybe this is something to consider for next time.

Obi, i just edited you a 2nd time.
You wrote "Colt", i edited it with "colt".
This is important
Since our Colt (very good TS 0.86 allrounder) (TS 1.00 nick: Ash) is not equal to the "colt", who came months later to TS, who was especially a fast speeder in early times.
Oh, and congrats colt
I knew you was able to make it, but feared you would ruin it again like not less times yet :/
The semi final i spectated, you drove very good, i saw

Let me see my bets...
Tijny, colt and Matti were showing a solid expected result.
From Lzan i knew he is constant and very fast, but i did expect others would have a higher advantage with EasySlider...
And Limp-pu was surprising me the most
Bet Name - Result
1 Tijny - 2 (solid expected result)
2 [YO] Gi Bear - 6 (6th is still very good, i am not sad
)
3 colt - 1 (well done, colt - letting Claudia pass in semi
)
4 [WCR] Matti - 4 (somehow Mattis position was so clear for me, like the one of Tijny and colt)
5 [Pussy] fergu - ?
6 [Orange] Etana - ?
7 [TL] Lzan - 3 (good work, Lzan, i was not far from betting you closer to the top, actually)
8 Benzinfurz - 7 (ah, nice benzi
)
9 [Orange] Lupin - ?
10 [WP] Pappa - ?
11 [Orange] Chukie - ?
12 [Ippon] Dede - ?
13 Kobradog - 8 (very nice result, i think
)
14 [Orange] Claudia - ?
15 sV - ?
.. Limp-pu - 5 (unexpected for me, congratulations Limp-pu ;D)
.. Badeend - 9 (hehe, good that i did not take part, right Bade
?)

If the first heats (the 15-lap ones) were a bit different (= with different drivers), I think I wouldn't have been in the final. But then again... you never know.Mike Nike wrote: 13 Kobradog - 8 (very nice result, i think)
I'm happy with the results.
I had no lag and it was a ghost race, so I have no "excuses". I lost to better drivers, which feels pretty good in a weird way. Congrats, all.
