I'm not sure is tijny or dede or someone who are organisizing those tournaments, driven with those cars but i think it would be even funnier to drive that league as F1 league. But this was just an idea.

About GT tournament!
Hello, like many has seem there is that ***touring car racing***- server. Actually i drove with those cars about 3-4 days ago, and cars were really nice and easy to learn. I don't remember with who i talked, but we though if there could be some league (like F1 League) with those cars? I think that is most popular server at evenings and we have had very nice races there.

I don't know how old are those cars but i just saw them few days ago.

I support this idea. Either all 3 cars or just one of them. Nowadays default cars have no interest among players so no much point in running a big league with them. F1 is popular too, but at least I would enjoy these a lot more because of sliding.
The server is quite popular so I think we would get as many players as F1 league got.
I had the same idea a long time ago. I think it'd be perfect to do this until we get to the next real F1 League. Cars should be all those 3 GT ones (Coquette, BME, Porge) and with some kind of rules so you would need to use all throughout the season. Tracks may be random from maybe already released F1 ones. Some kind of a simple qualifying mode and then some intense racing. Might be 2 races in 1 evening, but both a little shorter than a full F1 race. Just an idea..
This could be nice, I guess I could organize a test race this upcoming weekend (or the next) to poll people's interests. All three cars would have to be used and freely choosable, after all, the idea is that they can all compete with each other on many tracks despite all being a bit different.
I support Etmil's ideas of having multiple shorter heats and using released F1 tracks, they work very well with these cars too. Otherwise I'd suggest to keep things as simple as possible: no pre-qualifying, spots awarded on a first-come first-served basis, and of course REIROM is banned.

ghost race cups, 1-250 laps, no fuel, nearly any car/track combi (no nascar^^..), im inJan wrote:Nowadays default cars have no interest among players
gt-cars i hunted quite some records, but actually dont like them so much. especially in nonghostracing overtakings end up being too rough somehow, it felt like.
hmm..about cuptypes..i especially liked the 1vs1 cup system actually (also very nice could be 1vs1vs1vs1 where top2 go to next round).
something like a ko system with a seeding based on personal best totalracetime in a 6 lap race on a certain track or trackpool.
nobody else of you getting a little pushed by olympics? ;P
It's the same with any other cars that slide. It's either this or that.Mike Nike wrote:especially in nonghostracing overtakings end up being too rough somehow, it felt like.

Anyway, using F1 tracks might actually not be such a good idea: the cars are quite balanced on most default-style tracks, but F1 tracks have comparatively much longer straights, which greatly favors the Coquette. I'm sure some F1 tracks would work alright though, but I'm not going to test them all.

That two races in one night sounds really good. Maybe about something 20 laps/race. And yea, it would be a bit rough, but we have to make people know what rules are. You can make contact but you can't hit others etc.
I agree with Mike. Those cars have s(low) steering and that's why it's impossible to get fast recover after hits. Also, I played there few times with others, and it was pretty much frustrating every time. People just don't understand what fair play is.Tijny wrote:It's the same with any other cars that slide. It's not true that all the sliding cars are the same. EasySlider and Slider are much better from that point of view.

Ye
I agree with you Whip, but in tournaments, most of players are those who know rules and can play with them.
How 'bout randomly chosen tracks from the better default-style ones? Like circuits from Jarno/Janne/whoever/I don't really remember? Just tracks that look and feel closest to the default-track spirit? They'd have to be quite long though. 35+ seconds per lap at least, I reckon?Tijny wrote:Anyway, using F1 tracks might actually not be such a good idea: the cars are quite balanced on most default-style tracks, but F1 tracks have comparatively much longer straights, which greatly favors the Coquette. How about 3 races per event, and each must use all 3 cars?

Maybe a cup like what happens in the server already, but 'official' would be good. Just use fewer races and more laps (maybe 6 races of 10 laps each, all on one night). Non-ghost, free car choice, default racing tracks. We had some amazing racing and some amazing championship battles in that server tonight and it was actually very fair - no morons at all for once. If we can get a cup full of such exciting fair players like tonight it could be one of the best cups TS has ever seen

Or... How about fixed teams, with fixed cars for the entire season.
So if your team wants a Coquette, BME or a Porge... they have to run it at all races.
This could get the championship very interesting if the tracks are well picked, so overall, all the car types will have there chances. So add 3 tracks that suits the Coquette, 3 tracks that suits the BME, and 3 tracks that suits the Porge.
This way, you realy have to fight for every possition during each race, because a 5th or 6th place on a track that doesn't suit your teams car, can make the difference in the championship.
This also gives an extra option for an extra constructors championship.
It would be great if it worked well but there's always the risk that one car is strictly worse or better than the others if the organiser isn't lucky enough to pick the tracks well. That's why it's safer to force each player play each of the cars once per evening. Then selecting the tracks isn't a big issue as the selection can't favor anyone because of their cars.GR8Arjen wrote:Or... How about fixed teams, with fixed cars for the entire season.
