Quick 2vs2 PunaBall Tournament #10 - Monday 4 March 2013

Introduction
Most of these PunaBall tournaments showed serious organizing problems, such as teams not playing their matches, people disappearing and so on. For this reason we decided to play the whole cup in one night!

Schedule
Monday 4 March 2013 @ 20:50 CET (20:50 Italy/Germany/Netherlands - 21:50 Finland - 19:50 UK...)
If you would like to join but the schedule doesn't suit you, please leave your message in this topic.

Servers
Players must connect to drawings server before the cup. Drawings will start at 21:00 CET, so please show up at least 10 minutes earlier than that.

Rules
1. Max Teams & Players
The cup will have a maximum of 16 players (8 teams). If less teams will show up, one or more teams will advance automatically to next round. Teams can sign up before the cup or in the server just before drawings. Players without a team will be teamed up randomly, if no agreement is made.

2. Drawings
Drawings will take place in a separate server, the main server, which will remain available during the whole event. Teams can be decided directly into drawing server (NOT RANDOMLY). Drawings will be random. If 6 or less teams show up, drawings with "<no team> vs <no team>" will be considered invalid, so they will be repeated.

3. Cup Format
Two groups of 4 teams each, all teams play 3 matches (10 minutes time limited). Best two teams of each group advance to semi finals (best of three 5+2 matches, no time limit). Finals will be best of three 10+2 matches, without time limit.

Patetic. Since I'm such a noob and cannot play Puna, I don't like the awesome team vs awesome team system. Nobody will like me for stating this, but teams should be random based on groups of skill level. But whatever - have fun, I guess.

I could see that coming..

Anyway, I just think it would be far more competitive to have teammates of different skill levels playing against each other. I'm alone in this, I know. I'm not expecting you to change the cup format or anything because of me. But I am allowed to share my thoughts, aren't I? As for now, I'll stop 'complaining' and run away. No hard feelings. But I guess it's the nail that sticks out that gets the hammer - any views that are too far out there get frowned upon very often on these boards.

Etmil, you could organize one pb cup with that system that you've mentioned. But i'm not sure if it would work since every punaballer have its own favourite mates(as human beings and game style). But as you don't have that experience(you don't play puna), joining a cup for you only to participate would be non sense. Imagine that I end up playing with you, with all due respect, It would be a total waste of time. Whereas maybe if I would end up with a player like szymek that at least plays the game and I already know his style, probably it would be nice. But It can be good or bad.
Hence, pratice more and find your right partner, like I am doing with racing, but in this case alone - as I know suck at It, still I am trying to improve in order to participate in some of the next rally events. I am gladly here to help if you need with pb:) abraço

Well, normally I play randomly with the guy who remains alone. Let me team up with a top player, for once!

Btw, why don't you find a mate and practice together? I wouldn't mind playing with you, for example, if you want to practice seriously. I've been playing with olio for years, and he made me lose all cups I joined. I think I'm prepared.

If the organizer agrees, a new extra should be tested in this cup: if the final/semi finals will be recorded, the inclusion of live commentaries (in english) would be something that I would pay to the narrator to do that! I've already asked stealth though, but i'm not sure if he is free to do that

Well hello first of all. I have a request to make, and of course i know everyone has to agree with what i'm about to say to make it happen so i'll understand if it can't be done .

So here it is, i am leaving Portugal to live in South Korea next monday so it's my last time playing this any time soon (i was there for two weeks before and the ping was gigantic when i tried to play turbo sliders, even tough the internet connection seemed ok to me in terms of speed) i would like to ask if there's any possibility to schedule this cup to any time before monday.
