i just want to know if my time is competitive enough for this tournament

I think some people might not want to reveal their speed until race but as I am most likely unable to participate test race on sunday I can give my results so far. I am always at the bottom of every competition so if you want to reach middle class you should at least beat these.

Qualification lap: 1:05.755

And you should also drive test races with the race settings that have been given. Lap number has been designed so that race lasts an hour which means winner will use around 60 mins for the race.

My test race results (I have been using 88% startfuel)
1 Stop strategy: 63min 11 sec
2 Stops & 3 Stops I have same time for both: 62min 39 sec

So that indicates that I would lose 2-3 laps to winner. Which isn't that bad considering that these races are longer than the old F1 competitions.

Does anybody can tell me the LVP5 server address? I am playing from Mac and the server list does not show me any server. I just can login to the server number 82.192.76.193:6658 and I don't know if its the right one. Tks

Ah, you could read HERE about OSX version. Anyway, I'll copy/paste it for you:
OS X version
This version is packed by TS community, not by TS's developer. But it should work well for Mac users. (Thanks to velmu!)
NOTICE: Latest Mac version of the game isn't updated yet, but you can do the change by your self easily too:
- Open the game, go Network game -> Start server -> Location: http://turboserver.org/s.php
replace with the http://masterserver.turbosliders.com/
Anyway, the LVP5 address is: 82.192.76.193.6658
You can also use Network game > Recent - to see all the servers you've already been in. To check the name of the server, you can write /info while you're in it.

OK guys, seems like qualifications for the test race was a pretty big failure (LINK), but at least we learned something from that. We will not have this type of qualifications anymore. Qualifications for the official races will be organized online - in LVP4 server. So, no more video uploads are needed, and even no more subscriptions are needed. A player will be considered as qualified as soon as he drive a lap in that server. We will grab all info about him from inside of server's files. Just have in mind to always play with the same profile during the whole competition.

Maybe some people thought they would still have one day left for qualification? This is worded a bit vaguely:

You will be able to upload your video(s) for the whole week and we will publish the results on Saturdays (00:00)

Maybe better would have been to say Friday (23:59).

Does that online qualification last all week or is it a scheduled event? Do you still accept uploads or is driving at LVP4 the only way to get qualified?

I also noticed my tool added wrongly a plus sign in front of those laptimes for html list. That should now be fixed in the new version.

Yeah, I admit that was a bit misleading. We won't accept new videos for the test race. I'll setup the whole grid to be random for the test race, and the server will be open for everybody who show up. The next qualifications will be organized online in a separated server. But, I'll still use your tool to show up the laps.

That is honestly how it should be, and at this point there's very little need to trouble yourself with organizing anything more than that. Even if we get more subscriptions, it's just not interesting to organize a "rookie race"-type of event for 3 people.

My suggestion to handle more than 20 players would be to have the first 15-16 players in the championship standings and/or previous race be sure of their place, and award the final few spots based on the number of laps driven in LVP #5, in order to reward activity. (I can help you with the data) Then we can just have a "normal" qualifying session just before the race, which is easy to organize, completely supported by the game itself and gives people a chance to warm the fingers.

Well, this is actually my problem since the beginning - the game doesn't recognize who's spectator. I don't even have a problem to randomly add the rest of the players; my problem is how to "automatizelly" secure spots for certain selected players (top 15, for example). I thought about some tricks, but they're not intuitive enough.

The race already takes too long. And some players just want to show up, race, disappear. If we also include qualifications there, the whole event will really take too much time. And, I don't want to sacrifice race length to stick in the qualifications (I've already spent too much time for finding the optimal setup balance).

Anyway, I see "weekly wanking" qualifications as some kind of "activity stabilizer" or "competition reminder" - which is a really needed thing here. Otherwise I'm imagining people to forget about the competition easily - just what happened with FCC last time. And it's also important for newbies - once they see themselves on the list - that will explain them the rules better then anyone can simply by words.
