FormulaX International Championship - Test Race

Post by dede » Sat Sep 30, 2006 11:23 pm

Hello guys,

last TSM Tournament really enjoyed me, so I decided to organize an "International Season" parallel to the current TSM Season (local tournament - only guys from Malta). Before starting it, I would like to see if everything works, so we could arrange a test race (mainly to test the server with a big amount of players -> 16/20 circa). And, before doing that, I would like to know who is interested. My idea is to copy the whole TSM Tournament as-is (Jeffrey already agreed on this).

After your comments, I will post here the date of the test race.

Use the Formula-X2006.

Its just a smaller version of the Formula X.

Ok, test race is tonight @ 22.00 CET (23.00 finnish time, 22.00 italy/germany...). Please download tracks and car from the following links (they are big files, so we all should have them when cup starts).

I will be hosting the cup, but if it lags or people get disconnected we will change server.

This rocked! :D
42 minutes before starting qualifying session (due to transfers, server switching etc..): it was well known that my server could have had problems with someone, so after the first one got disconnected we decided to immediately switch to Tijny's server. We lost 5-10 minutes in order to solve a firewall problem there, and then we waited for some transfer. Once qualifying session started there was an absurd lag, so server needed restart.

Let's just forget this, fortunately it was just a test.

About the race I noticed about some bad settings (mainly damage: I crashed something like 20 times and I got 80% of remaining energy).

Race was pretty tight in some moment, but I think it was very far away from TOCA's fun level. So my final conclusion is that I would prefer some different car/tracks for the whole season.

Comments are welcome.
