Jarno told that it is: 1st 3 points, 2nd 2 points and 3rd 1 point. After voting the points are summed up and the winner is the track with most points.Keppana wrote:I think it's like most 1's, 2's and 3's, like in olympic games if you win 2 gold and 1 silver that is better than 1 gold and 10 silver.

So here is my vote:
1. ASPERN
2. IN_TRAMERENGIO
3. pu_SENERAT
Well done all the track makers.
I know my track is a bit wide, but that is how my TSM club needs the tracks to be. Its meant to be played with fast F1 cars or Fast Moto GP, with 16+ drivers.
But that is the beauty of TS, different tracks for different tastes.
Keep it up. Hope to see more trackmakers next competition.

After some serious testing with slider and anti, I came to following conclusion:
1. J_Zuca
This surprised me the most. Usually I really am not J_tracks fan, but this was good. Perhaps it's because curves in this track aren't so long like Jarno's tracks usually have. I really like the forest-look of the track. Great with anti and good with slider.
2. hg_Ezart
Hg_Ezart and Jn_Tramerengio actually shared the second place after my testing. But because I still prefer slider over anti and Ezart was the best slider track from whole group it took the second place. Good profile but still I would prefer curves to be bit more tighter. Great with slider and ok with anti.
3. Jn_Tramerengio
Jn_Tramerengio is just plain good. Profile is ok like the visual side. Maybe some curve combinations I didn't like so much. Good with anti and slider.
About other tracks (in random order):
pu_Senarat
Lost podium by one point. The thing that made it lost the podium place is those two chicanes in west part of the track. I just didn't like them with slider. With anti the track is one of the best in the group. Nice tight curves which just make you smile when you drive them succesfully.
Limp_City_Slalom
One of the best slider tracks in the group. Fun to drive and to look.
Toaster0
I really like the profile. Nice curves that _would_ keep you going if those damn tires wouldn't be there.
k-HandInTheSand
Not every track has to be a serious racing track. Looks fun and in rough cups will surely also be it.
VPA_Vega
Good with anti but with slider I don't like those long curves.
JC_Losail
Because I tested tracks with slider and anti I can't value this very high. It's just too long. Could be nice with non-default cars.
Aspern
I really like the track profile. Too bad that the track is too dark for my taste. Also the strange slipperines in some photoshopped tracks is also present here. If this would have been made in "normal way", I think that it would have reached a podium place in my ranking.
Cockimus_Maximus
Last but not least eh? One of these two statements is true and the other one isn't. Where does this guy get his ideas? Not from real world that's for sure with those dimensions...
Final words
With these guys ts won't die because of lack of good tracks, that's for sure.

1. Jn_Trameregio
Good looking track, and nice to drive.
2. k-HandInTheSand
For creativety. A similar theme to Cockimus_Maximus but better looking heh. The pyramids add a nice touch. But not that fun to drive, maybe in a rough cup?
3. Limp_City_Slalom
For a nice contribution to the street racing scene.
Next track making compo, maybe a server with all tracks and the cars suggested by trackmakers could be set up? Would be fun to test them with more drivers before voting.

I hope you tried those tracks with some carMouse wrote:Here are my comments of each track:

I have been looking at these tracks for about 45 minutes now, i feel i have judged them the best i could.
By looking a track you can't say anything about what is it like to drive and how the track works. The image shows only the big lines and the general feeling. From the picture you can analyze the type of curves, obstacles and their placement, track width etc. but the driveability which is the main point of the track can't be seen.
Nice details and lots of things to see (in J_Zuca just trees) means nothing if the track is not good to race. You don't need high details and nice tiles to have a great track, puna's tracks are often excellent just with few details (like kalahar, sahara, valli etc.). Nice details are of course good enhancement to a track if added properly.
What comes to a true Slider track, it sure isn't what you seem to think. Slider needs a nice touch of challenge and curve combinations which makes the car flow through curves to another.
btw: sometimes a variable width track can be made deliberately...

Hmmm, I didn't mean to be too harsh. Just to remind everyone that you can't really say what the track is like without driving it first. At least you said that you just looked the tracks and gave nice comments about the tracks, what was good and what was not so good.Mouse wrote:.... I dunno what i was thinking!
I hope you saved your post so that you can compare and tell us what you thought about the track just looking the picture and after driving it with some cars. Just 3-5 laps depending on the track will show how is it like. Surely in the 45min time what you used to look at the tracks you would have tested all those tracks with all cars
I don't think that everyone will cast their votes after they have tested the tracks. And you can vote if you just are registered to this forum, you don't even need the game. It's a free world...

No hard feeling, Hengari. 45 minutes of typing a post, i was a bit on edge about anything
In the next few days i will test the tracks with what car i think will fit best, and respost my comments (which i did save).
I wanna post a pic of my track too. It is not in the contest, but it would be nice to see what people think.

I drove only slider.
1: Hg_Ezartian.
Nice fast, twisting curves. Keeps car flowing from start to finish. Theres no time to get bored, since next corner waits you at the exit of the previous. There's no irritating inner-cones which one hits every second lap. Crass in corners is just the rigth amount, making the track enough mistake-friendly. This migth someday be one of my alltime fafourites, time will show.
Places 2,3,4 were very difficult to deside. Jn_Tramerigio, J_Zuca and Pu_Senarat were very close. Very... Basicly i have same arguments for every 3 tracks.
2: Jn_Trameregio.
Some nice challenging curves. A little bit too harsh for mistakes.
3: J_Zuca.
Jarno's tracks usually doesnt fit my idea of sliding. This did, though. Challenging profile. A bit too unforgiving inner-curves.
- Pu_Senarat:
Challenging, but a bit too unforgiving. In exit of corners, one must hurry for best line for next corner whole time. This keeps driver occupied. Which is good.
Others in random order.
- Cockimus maximus:
well... nice idea, i guess.
- JC-Losail:
too long and wide for slider. maybe with non-default cars. super-sand is not good. never has it been, in not a sincle track.
- Aspern:
Ice adds some nice. Edges of track I dont like. Nor the odd slippery feeling of photoshop. While wanking, the optimal ending line doesnt match with the optimal starting line for next lap.
- Toaster0:
Nice sliding curves. tires are too close.
- VPA_Vegas:
quite basic good. Im not fond of round, though.
- K_HandInTheSand:
Too long straights. Kills the flow. Otherwise nice-made.
- Limp_City_Slalom:
Maybe i shouldnt have made that jump there. :/

Competition is ended and here are the results:
1.Jn_Tramerengio
2.J_Zuca
2.hg_Ezart
Congratulations all track makers making great tracks. Jn_Tramerengio was the very best track so congrats janne for making this great track. It was nice to see that allmost every track in this competition did get some votes, even that cockimus thing. Hopefully xzeal will move those tires so he would get lots of points too.
Next time this competition will be in march or april. So every trackmakes, be ready!

Spinnering on limits...
Ok then, since the contest is over, i will show you my track:
Indiatopolis

Topo (Italian) = Mouse. It is very similar to Indianapolis, but a bit of a mutation. Not very big, so it is fun to drive with default cars. This easily could have been a 2000 pixel wide track, but for the sake of default car racing, i made it much shorter...
The next contest i will submit my track early.
