Ok, so far just 30 players signed up for the league, so we basically need a good way of kicking out 10 of them from the race. Sorting players basing on entry list is unfair, since the list filled up too quickly. Sorting players basing on previous cups is also unfair, since new drivers would have no chances to join.

The solution could actually be to release tracks for Weekly Wank and then use that ranking to establish the entry list. This would actually be a very big change, since training could be the most important part of the tournament - especially for slower drivers.

So, here's how the cup would work:

Cup Format
Entry List: based on Weekly Wank results - top 20 players will have a spot reserved for the race
Warm Up: 5 minutes, fuel on, ghost off
Qualify: max 8/10 laps, fuel on
Race: 25 minutes, fuel remaining after qualify will be startfuel

Teams
7 teams, 4/5 players each. Players will be split in 4 categories, teams will be composed of 1 player from each category (max 2 from lowest category). Top 2/3 players of each team will score points for team standings.

The idea is great. You made possibility for all players to join the cup, and that's the best improvement. Also, that's claver move for making more activity online. But you just need to think about possible cheaters. For example: Tijny could ask Reirom to drive with his nick, and then Reirom could make that Tijny join the race by bitchy cheating. I can't find the way to stop that.
Also, the part that I didn't understand well is making 7 teams with 20 players. How is that possible? 20:7=2,8571429 Or maybe you think that all 30+ players can make their teams and fight for their spots in the race by weekly wanking?

I see a way to avoid that. We ban Tijny and Reirom right now! Ehehe.. anyway, IP's are available on server logs if needed. Cheating could be possible for people from the same country, but I believe that nobody would risk to be excluded from the cup just to help a friend to qualify.

All players who signed up in the league will be able to join a team. 30 players -> 5teams x 4players + 2teams x 5players.

My favorite feature of the F1 Season is the fact the tracks are unreleased. You never know what's coming. The surprise factor makes it very exciting. It's like opening a present. The player's ability to memorize the track plays a very important role also, not just the speed. This is something I think is very good.

There are many players indeed, so I think Dede's solution is only fair. We want the best. If you're not part of the best, you need to practice more. I didn't have a hard time to place myself in the top 20 (except on the rainy races). Most of the time I was on the top 10. So it's okay with me. I hope I do it.

The problem with this is that Reirom AM probably not going to make it.

Also, I'm afraid a faster player could use 2 nicknames to help his slower friend. I'm sure there are ways to prevent that by banning both but anyway, it could happen and spoil the whole fairness of it if we don't pay attention.

Using the Weekly wank results to get a startingticket for a race, is a great idea!

It will make that one even more populair and the competition will get stronger.

Test sessions/free practice won't be needed anymore, which makes the event shorter in time, so thats makes planning much easier for all players.

Teams could be a fun addition to if the best drivers would like to manage them as suggested earlier.

@ Misterpom, yeah I always had the feeling this was my advantage... this way i could always beat Lux... Lanz etc, while they are normally faster. But if we only had normal warm ups + qualify i was mostly always best of the rest every race. Etc 4-5 spot alot

All perfect. For any case, players from the same country should play for different teams. That will still not totally help, but could be little better.
Most of players have fixed IP, so it will help too. So T will have to make a little trip to Brazil if he want give a hand for his very best friend.

Yeah reserved spot. If players with reserved spot don't show up in time, they are out. I'd say that showing up before qualify is allowed. No player changes after qualify.

I thougth that Weekly Wank will be the same like this week, only one of that three tracks will be F1 track for championship (random one). :/

But ok, all options are fine with me, all tracks are relativly new to me anyways xD
I can do +1.3s to +2s, judging on these few days playing Weekly Wank.

For this "weekly wank pre-qualifying," are we going to get some real-time stats somewhere?

I raced a bit on the server. I was 1st in Barcelona, 2nd in Xianlao and 999th in Kabaqa. It was hard for me to make a good lap. I'm not comfortable at all with this car. I thought I was but I was wrong.

It's too slippery in the rain. I know a handful of people will point out that since it's in the rain it's supposed to be slippery. I accept that if it was only in the close curves but sometimes in a very open curve you just turn the car a bit and it's enough to make it slip like crazy and make that annoying braking sounds. That's not rain, that's oil or something like that hahaha.

This doesn't seem to bother other players, though. They probably have a technique to get around it, something I'm not familiar with. I tried using brakes, not using brakes, turning a lot, turning a little. I guess I just suck at rainy races. It's just too "antislider" for me.

The rest was okay. Still in Xianlao, I used to be able to make the first 2 curves without braking with the last car and now I can't. It's very hard to turn it.

I hope it's just me having to practice more. Still it's frustrating. LOL.

My technique in rain is to brake before starting the curve and then accelerate through the curve (unless it's a slow one). Use kerbs only if you need more steering in slow curves, otherwise avoid them if you can. Braking during the curve will probably make your car slide, which makes you lose a lot of time.

About the first test race, entry list will be determined basing on Xianlao Weekly Wank results.

I agree. At least when the cup really begins, in my opinion it'd be better if only the track where the next race is held would be included in the Weekly Wank. Probably this is my opinion because I'm not a big fan of wanking. Because of this qualification I have enthusiasm to wank on the race track though.

Weekly Wanking will continue for 2 weeks like it is now: 3 tracks (1 of them is quali for test races). When the cup really begins, Weekly Wank server will have only 1 track. It won't be a Weekly Wank competition though, just a quali server for the race (top players aren't forced to drive their best laptimes).

it doesnt matter if they didnt sign, if they didnt sign up they wont be allowed to play even if they are 7th or in top 20 on the weekly wank server.

But one of these three tracks is the one that will be in cup.

And noone knows what track until, let's say, Friday. Then you, by using some random.org site, or just somehow choose track for cup.
Besides, that's the way you can "random" the weather conditions. Maybe always will be rain, maybe 2 times during a cup.

Top20 (those who sign-in for F1 cup) on "the chosen one" track (or reirom's idea or making average of three tracks) for qualifying laps, and race.
