Tjiny was completely untouchable, brilliant performance as usual.

Exiting last 10 laps between dede and janne, could of gone either way!

Badeend just managed to fend off mike at the end, was close tho :o

I especially enjoyed the nicely fairplay battle between dede and janne though, some great laps fought between you.
How to watch it?

Everything should be up to date now (also next race's details). A special thanks goes to Tijny, who is effectively running the league (providing most tracks & updating the website).

It's time to make the first considerations, since half of the league is gone already. I am very satisfied about having 20 players each race. In the other hand, I would've loved to split the league into two divisions if we just had 40 signed up players. Maybe for future cups, if you guys help.. :P

As announced yesterday, Philippe's Community Server is going to be moved this week to the new location. That caused lags few weeks ago, so I'll start to test different servers for the upcoming races. Polish server, the current GPOR one, could be a good alternative, but I don't trust it too much with many players (months ago we experienced problems and crashes with 19-20 players). Probably we are going to try Fastempire server tonight..

Anyway, unless we stay at Philippe's new server, the race fuel won't be set automatically anymore. So please pay attention and set your fuel before the race, or you will get a disqualification from final standings.

Yeah just found them after my post, I thought it was a package or something :p

Edit: (otherwise double post)

Tijiny on what zoom level do you play and which resolution.. I've just been looking the replay of the race but on my computer it always look like your half on the dirt / half on the kerbs :p. So iam just asking because maybe i play to much zoomed out...

It may look like that, yes, and that has nothing to do with your zoom level. As long as the center of the car is on the kerbs, you won't get slowed down by the sand. That's just the way TS works, and I happen to drive close to the edge most of the time. :D

Yes, but wondering what zoom + resolution you play because the more you zoom out, the harder it is to find the "edge"

Woow, Tijiny still playing Eisenstad with bots every day i just drove a new pb : 33.247!!!!

Etmil the protest guy with another statement.
Please review the following incidents for driver [ : ] Etmil on lap 1 of the Mordecai GP and have the results of the investigation delivered to driver [ : ] Etmil:

* [fS] Janne passing [ : ] Etmil roughly over the sand at the top end of the track (I think it's like the beginning of the last sector of the track).

* ION*Larppa colliding with [ : ] Etmil shortly after the previous incident and making him run wide and off track onto sand (which resulted in driver [ : ] Etmil dropping from 7th to 15th on the grid) From 7th, which was taken cleanly on turn 2 (the first hairpin of the track) from whoever was 7th after the qualification.

* driver Pingu blocking driver [ : ] Etmil and gaining speed from the incident at the end of lap 1, on the start/finish straight, just after the final turn despite driver [ : ] Etmil making a clear attempt to overtake driver Pingu (who had slowed down to whatever reasons) freely and without contact

Finally, driver [ : ] Etmil regrets and wishes to apologise to driver [BRA]Ciutz for realising a bit too late that driver [BRA]Ciutz was a lap ahead and should have been let past a bit quicker. Sorry.

End of statement.
Yes, I had a rough and difficult lap 1 of this GP and I whine just a bit too much. Otherwise, I suppose, the Mordecai GP was okayish, 2nd stint was kind of normal and I did what I could to make up positions after the consequences of the incidents on lap 1, but there's only so much you can do.. not really happy with 11th place, but what the hell. Thank you and goodbye.

Yes i crashed myself... after a very slight touch of shyguy who i tried to pass, if i remember right i wanted to let Etmil pass on the right side of me because that was the normal line, but then he also steared to the left and i coudnt avoid him anymore. Before even the next corner i immideatly gave position back, Keppana and one other also because they were so close to etmil.. then i went into the dirt again and even more people passed me! Then i had to start my comeback from like 2nd last place lol.

But is he accusing me for blocking lol or am i mistaken? You can clearly see i slowdown to give back position after this racing accident

Etmil, you're a nice guy and everyone enjoys having you in any cup, but dude, come on. It's a game that requires precise input, everyone makes mistakes (it's easy to do in this game). Especially in a league where there is a big range of skill, people are going to get hurt by others.

I'll quote myself to see my main point:

Just have fun man, everyone has their bad days (I have not had a good one in a few weeks).

My race in a nutshell:

Bad qualifying lap, started 13th. Got to 10th or so but Shyguy bumped me and I lost about 6-7 positions (not his fault). Managed to get them back but I was too far behind to catch Keppana. Second stint I was running alone in 9th. 9th is a few places worse than I'm capable of.

Also I'll note again for those who missed it:

The design of the track was made on May 15th (I checked my old files). I only completed it a few weeks ago for this cup. The chicane was pretty bad, had I done a few laps of testing I would have asked Tijny not to use the track in the cup, but I did not want to be unfair (I did a few laps with Antislider to test for bugs).

Next time I'll use more CONES (old GPOR joke). :D

Race in a nutshell

Quali: I started far away from 16th place with 91% fuel.

Stint 1: I had good start and picked some players. Racing with Storm, Pingu and Etmil. I made 3 visits on dirt in same double right curve and lost my positions, but I did catch these guys again later. Car kept working better with less of fuel. Pit in lap 21.

Stint 2: Just driving alone for 8th place. Again I was get lapped just in final laps, I felt again scary because I had to give road for Janne & Tijny who had battle for 2nd place, hope it went fine.

Summary: Fuel strategy did work perfect, I could have not have been drive better as I did, so I should be happy. I made not big crashes, but there was two near-hit crashes, was it the green car which crashed in a hairpin and the other which crashed in start straight.

You're probably right, I suppose :| It's just that when you're racing, it always seems so much worse when such things happen to you.

My race wasn't good. I made a shitton of little mistakes, which add up to many many seconds in the end. Also, there was a traffic jam in lap 23, which caused me to lose contact with dede, kinda killing my morale. I should be happy I managed to beat Janne for 2nd.

Practice 1&2: I forgot to set startfuel in first session, so I decided to drive both sessions with max startfuel. That helped to find a good pace for the qualify session.

Qualify: This time I decided to drive until I obtained a good lap. My first try wasn't too good, but I didn't care too much since Tijny crashed (so he would've driven one more lap as well). In next lap I crashed while I was having a very good lap. Fourth lap was good for both me and Tijny, but my time was faster by a tenth!

Race: The GP started quite well for me. My biggest fear was to crash at the chicane with the whole group behind, but that didn't happen. I managed to get the lead after some laps, and at the same time I saw Tijny crashing right in that chicane. Everything was going good, until I crashed myself and Tijny got closer behind me. At first pit I had a safe lead (2 seconds, maybe?), but then I braked too late and I ended up outside the pit area. The result was that I had to fill less fuel than calculated (iirc, 95% instead of 96%) in order to stay ahead of Tijny, who pitted in the same lap. That should've been a safe percentage anyway, since in the first stint I crashed also, so I didn't really save fuel at all.
We battled for a while, until Janne (who had longer first stint) exited right next to us. Some traffic in next curves gave me a little space, which resulted in less pressure, so I could push my car to the limit.
For a long time Janne remained in second position, much distanced from me. In last ten laps I started to make mistakes (sorry kkyborg!) because I was pushing too hard. Then, I decided to drive safe to the victory, but I risked some more in order to watch what was happening behind. Happy ending for me, not so happy for Janne's failure.

All in all, my race was as good/bad as the previous ones. The only difference is that I started ahead of Tijny, which makes things much easier. The real problem in this league is that often I'm not able to drive sick laps in few tries, so I always decided to stop driving when I got an average lap in order to save fuel for the race. Probably going for pole position is always the best solution, even if you drive 10 laps in qualify. We'll see in next race ;)

Very pleased with my quali, 7th on 91% fuel, went great :D

However I think I should of probably burnt more fuel to fight for the front 2 rows, as I was so so slow at the start and the late pit meant tjiny (no fault of his own) bumped me off the track coming out of his stop, I still had 5 laps low fuel which I could of taken full advantage of but was stuck up in about 5 cars of high fuel traffic.

After that I came out the pits waaay down, was running in 8th, but lost about 5 places in the traffic and I think I was down in 13th after my pitstop, behind even pingu who I had kept ahead of all race and he was on a similar strategy to me, however he got ahead of me in the pits because he loaded one lap less (because he remembered that we would probably be lapped by tjiny). After that I basically lost motivation, ( or had "brainlag" as mike suggested" and after a perfect stint 1 with no mistakes whatsoever, I started making large mistakes and lost a huge chunk of time. To make matters worse in the closing stages of the race I touched the grass on the way in to the chicane at the bottom of the track, resulting in me turning but going sideways in to the wall at the chicane nakajima style. This dropped me down to 15th, and although I nearly got close to retaking 14th at the end of the race, I let dede through one last time and the last few corners and as a result didnt I get the extra lap I needed to pass.

In a nutshell: I had the pace, but I made far too many mistakes, and my pit strategy was poor. I will certainly be practicing more, getting to know the car more so that I make less mistakes in future.

I am also glad pingu wasnt around at the time of my crash in case I made him lol and lose positions :P

I don't have time to make the official announcement in the homepage, right now. Sunday's race is going to be held normally anyway :)

Please remember that Sunday morning we are going to go back to winter time. Race is still scheduled for 21:00 CET, which will mean 20:00 GMT (previously it was 19:00 GMT). If you are going to switch to winter time (clock moves 1 hour back) in your country, then race will be at same time as before. Otherwise it will be one hour later.
