mang! patetic me!
race started not bad! was on nice 3rd place! small gap to the guys in front and behind! but then i started to make stupid mistakes! somehow i didn't braked in pits, the car was rolling out until i realized that i have to brake! then i started to early with not filling up the tires to 100%! the 2nd stint was also not so bad! was able to stay in front of dede, the gap to mike and eddie was a bit bigger once i entered for my 2nd stop! but sadly i came out behind mrtn! that cost me some time and after dede's stop i was behind him! and then i made the Hamilton move of the day! checked how much i am in front of the driver 1 spot behind! somehow i thought that i can easily go to pits and try to hunt the fastest lap! seems i watched at the wrong line or something and i misjudged the situation that made me loose 1 spot in the end! also i failed in getting the FL! pretty patetic!

lets see..
lap/curve
6.1: mistake, tijny pass
7.middle: pass tijny - he let me space
11.pit dbl mistake in pits cost me at least 1.3 sec (41.8 lap compared to 40-40.5 laps 1st lap after 1st pit).
20.1 mistake by tijny, race seems decided almost
22.m mistake in front of tijny, short later lil block vs him, then go to pits, maybe shoulda let him pass there after sliding on grass short in front of him; being afraid of getting beefed due to his overspeed i was probably making the mistake in the first place, not sure. still my fault though.
25 liambaker lets me pass, but then doesnt give me space for idealline and then beefs me offroad 2 curves later, 33.598c lap as result, tijny 2 sec lead now
27 liam again doesnt give me idealline, 31.101c lap (didnt take away so much, but still nerved a little)
30.1 mistake, needing to push, being a little fked up, i risked too much here. race seemed almost over, but was hoping for tijny making mistakes.
1.507s behind now
32.1 tijny mistake after lil struggling in front of me, me in lead again, 0.98s after 32 laps, 3% less energy
36.end grasscut slows me down, t and d now getting close
37.m dede suddenly superclose, 37.e grasscut by him, giving me space to breathe
38.m dede luckily on distance, so i might rescue 1st place. being back in germany, im sleeping at the house of my parents though and suddenly my mom comes to my door, making a distracting noise, creating quite an unrelaxed mood in me. 3 more corners to do, most important ones and i have to handle this. and i fail, obviously. coming out too safely out of 3rd last corner, dede with superspeed, me not sure if i may blockdefend into 1 direction or if blocking is basicly not allowed at all, i decide to back off and just give dede nearly no space for last 2 curves and forcing him to slow down. while i think i let him space enough and kept a relative fast outside line, i think i felt like i got sidebumped a little bit and that's why i got offroad in the last corner. i am not 100% sure if i coulda gone more outside and shouldnt have steered in so much, but as it looked like in the replay, i was doing relatively fine. so, probably dede should have slowed down (a bit more than he might have did already. im actually amazed i didnt get beefed before already) in the inside to not risk bumping me offroad. i also checked the output.txt with -debug 3 mode. i didnt find out where the "collision"(s) were, but according to the positions of the cars, it seems that dede went with a little too much speed in the last curve (if not already before, resulting into probably sidecontact when cars were "looking down"), slightly sidebumping into me, so i got kinda beefed there.
20min21.x racetotaltime. i practiced quite more than average this time and my last 3 tries were all with a pace of around 19min13-14 with 4-6 sec mistakes in average (36 laps). so this race was quite a bit under my expectations, probably also caused by liambaker pushing me offroad etc.
the whole race i thought it is a t/m top2 and out of a sudden dede comes in the last laps and crossing the line 1st. ridiculous -.-
i might need to punish me a little for semiblocking tijny once.
but i definately blame liambaker for his push and slightly for giving me a bad overlapping line.
also i request tijny/dede to look over the last curve scene to find out if dede not slowing down enough, resulting in sidebumping me (that's what it pretty much felt like), is enough to somewhat receive a punishment, so i'd still receive the win, without dede getting standardized 5sec punishment or something, like the rules say. either way, dede might have had a nice race, starting from just 7th. still it felt like a close battle between me and tijny all the way and it felt like it's gonna be a tough pitstrategy race ending up in me needing to block tijny in the last few laps vs his late stop. in the end we both did mistakes and if i woulda ended up in front of him, it woulda still been a bit lucky, since we both seemed to have a similar pace. i finished in front of him, deserved or not, im not sure. but i finished behind dede in 2nd, which made me pretty mad about my mother (lol), even though it was maybe due to the sidebump in last curve. anyway, it still kinda feels like a win and im looking forward to challenge for another pole/win in the next races, if prerace circumstances are similar good like they were today.
also @lanz: in how far i woulda been allowed to block dede short after 3rd last corner. i drove right, then skipped the block, partly thinking i am not allowed to block, partly just not knowing what im allowed to, what not. also: in my warpy replay i wasnt 100% sure if i actually blocked dede there or if he sloweddown or drove on grass. either way, i saw no collision before 2nd last corner.
qualfication though was nice. q2 at least. 4 fast laps in a row, even though the last curve in 1-2 laps werent so great. after a local practice, making a 30.007, but going only few times under 30.2, 3 low 30.2's in q2, finishing 1.5sec in front of tijny looked quite promising.

Okay, first unexpected win of this cup. Now I gotta try to push harder in order to be a contender for the championship.
One of the greatest wins ever. Nice race, great fair battles. I enjoyed.
Q1 went very well, I obtained two great laps and my personal best out of 4 flying laps. So I expected to fail on Q2 and I did! It's actually great that half of the players are excluded from Q2, so that they will start behind me anyway!
Race start was great, I managed to overtake Szymek and Shyguy in first curves, but then I had to battle with them a bit. When I managed to get rid of them, I got stuck behind Stylus who was having a great pace. I never really managed to get too close to attack him, so I started thinking about pitting to get new tyres. But hey, he made a mistake and Mike Nike pitted - had to go with different strategy. I waited to pit till lap 15, 6-7 laps later than planned strategy, 6-7 laps driven very constantly and quick. I lost only about 0.7-0.9/lap from MNike+Tijny, very well done for me!
Second stint should've been important for a comeback, but I failed to find the right lines. I made couple of mistakes, so my chances to get better than 3rd place seemed a bit gone. In last stint, though, I realized that I was catching leaders very quickly. I had nothing to lose, I had faster car but very limited time to get them. Apparently they were suffering my comeback, because they started to make mistakes as soon as I came: Tijny went out of track in first curve, Mike did the same in very last curves. My overtake on him was great, big pressure, kept him wide in the outside line and as a result he went offroad. Just great.
Little drama: I pushed spacebar before last curve by mistake, the pressure..

@Mike
you had the chance to go on the inside, but you missed it and from the moment dede had the nose next to you your not allowed to swerve in front of him anymore! ofc you can't go from right to left to right to left to block dede! always give the other guy space to survive and you actually did that in that situation!
about dede's overtake, it was totally fair and from what i saw from my replay the contact was really minor! if there was some contact at all, i'm not so sure! but sure this overtake is far from being punished!

in the servers replay everything looks so warpless, nice. there it is visible that there was no collision before 2nd last corner. that was kinda impossible to see in my local replay.
also it looks like in last corner there was no collision and the only collision was a tiny one when both cars were looking down, between edge of 2nd last corner and last corner. while driving it felt like i got sidepushed, which made me getting more outside, being unable to get the curve right.
superfair it woulda been imo to slow down (a bit more) to not risk a collision. with that loss of speed on the inside it shoulda been good possible that i rescue my car over the finishline with my higher outside speed.
as tiny as the collision was and as unlikely rough it might appear, i think a (super)fair line wouldnt have made me go offroad in last curve. even it didnt look that rough in the replay and even dede tried to drive superfair and had no intention to sidebump me...i felt the collision and it felt like this likely changed the outcome of the race.
i wonder if i had a loss of grip or if the server/client collision calculation just made it look like there was a bump (warp of my car) during the last curve (as well).
well, it still just doesnt feel fair.
i actually had a similar situation with tijny, where tijny even gone offroad, to not risk to beef me (or for another reason), while i drove a somewhat solid outsideline. funny though, a curve earlier i almost liambeefed him with a pixel more or 2.
i dont mind if the racewin still counts for dede, but i wont just accept that the overtake was fair (even the intention was fair).
if it would have been me accidently sidebumping the car to the outside, keeping high speed in the inner curve, to be able to keep the speed in order to be in lead after the last curve...i wouldnt have felt like i drove fair there, unless the sidebump wouldnt have been my fault. but i think even i let dede quite low space in the inside, i still drove outside enough to count as victim in case of a collision.

Well, if you mean that I forced you to decide between accepting 2nd place or going offroad and still get 2nd place, then you are true. There simply was no option for you to win there. In order to stay on track you should've lift gas like I did in last curve (to leave you room to stay on track - check my line on finishline - I never crossed your line). But without full speed you would've never won.

Saw the race replay in Dede´s prespective....
Great race catching 1st place just on the last lap after some overly aggressive defending Martin!
I dont blame him, he was defending a first win or?
Martin, you could have holded that win...i know its hard to hear it now but...its true.Pressure is hard to manage when you are leading and its a normal thing! I had already a couple of times my heart jumping of excitment and adrenaline by being at front with kind of feeling of responsibility for holding that place!
Sad i couldnt show up as i believe i really would have something to say about this win. Love the track and on the test race we made i had my best result ever!!! A 2nd place....
Cant wait to catch up next weekend! Need to aim high...hopefully i like the track!

line 1= collision (maybe collision was slightly before already, see 1st pic)
line 2= no actual collision in serverreplay (only in my local replay the warpyish way my car moves there it looked like i might have collided there as well, next to the collision in line 1)
by keeping more speed than you should, you collided with me. due to that collision i basicly was forced to lift gas and get 2nd or risk fullspeed and go offroad anyway and get 2nd. but in my screen it didnt look like in the serverreplay though. i think the effect of the collision wasnt so visible so fast, so i probably thought i could still make the curve.
either way, i think without the collision i would have been able to make the curve, maybe fullspeed, maybe by lifting gas (since you would have been on lower speed, i wouldnt have been forced to go for fullspeed then).
in the picture you see the red and yellow drivingline. it's supposed to mean that the red line doesnt collide with the yellow one.
just imagine you wouldnt have driven with higher speed and slowed down, so that the red line doesnt collide with the yellow one, like it did in the race. you woulda been on lower speed (like i kinda (semi-)forced you to in order to not sidebump into me) and i wouldnt have been slightly pushed outside/wouldnt have lost grip or whatever my car attribute changes were...and coulda get the curve on the outside.
lower anglespeed, no collision, i drive faster on the outside, like planned
taking more space than you are supposed to, you automaticly kept higher speed than you were supposed to, ending up colliding with me. imo an illegal crossing of my line there, since i left you enough space to go collideless in the inside, just not fullspeed.
edit: if this overtake reminds me to something, then maybe due to the snowy f1 track, where i didnt get enough space outside as well and was sent offroad and lost quite some time. this time though i thought i tacticly let enough space to keep it legal, but not enough space for you to go fullspeed without colliding with me. forcing you to brake would make me being faster on the outside, unless you bump into me, which would be an illegal overtake, imo, if it results into one.
i dont know if you mean me with Martin. lets just assume you do. which overly aggressive defending? you mean by skipping to block dede, but still leaving him low space to go in 2nd last corner/curvepart?Afinfas wrote:Saw the race replay in Dede´s prespective....Great race catching 1st place just on the last lap after some overly aggressive defending Martin!

actually it wasnt real pressure, you know, like you have when your heart starts pumping because you have to keep your pace and 1 mistake ruins it all. a curve earlier i just got distracted, so my 3rd last corner was a bit way too safe driven and due to bad rule knowledge i didnt know if i may block or not, so i decided to go with the safe fair option.

That was the most epic finish I saw in TS's official races ever.
But, it's really sad that whole Mike's race was ruined by LiamBaker. I just can't understand why some players can't fallow few simple gentleman's rules.
T tried to save the things, but that was hopeless. On his place I would just run away pretending I saw nothing weird there.
But, in the end, I vote for T - for the best fairplay move.
Glad to see Mike's finally showing some aggressive moves, even he lost that position while closing the door. I was expecting he will just let dede to overtake him without any risky defend. dede somehow got that inside line by better speed on the straight. There is nothing to complain about really. Clean defending - clean overtaking. Without Liam, dede would be 5 secs behind for sure.
Still, great overtake for some of the future YouTube video.

Was not on purpose, I tried to run away but that move by liambaker made me lose pretty much all my concentration. I also tried to hold off dede so that Mike could win, but I made yet another major mistake in the first corner and he was gone.Whiplash wrote:But, it's really sad that whole Mike's race was ruined by LiamBaker. yep, i remember this like it was yesterday! what a finish! let's hope we see such stuff this year as well! GO 46!!!!!!!!!dede wrote:Reminded me of last lap overtaking by Rossi vs Lorenzo..

i didn't saw that move yesterday, but i checked it now! really a stupid move from liam! it's really not hard to give way to lapped guys! but idk maybe it's hard for them to admit that they get lapped! liam affected the outcome of the race and because he finished the race last already he gets a penalty for the next race at Zandvoort! maybe he has to start the race from last spot! considering his previous starting positions thats not a harsh penalty as well! well see!Angry Mike wrote:"Audi driver dede pulled out an awesome last lap pass on Mike to take home the first win" - how about: audi driver liambeefer helped dede catch up eddie and mike, ending up with dede pulling out a rough overtake on mike in last curve? -.-...id rather like to see punishments resulting in 1. eddie 2. mike 3. dede than this result -.-, no matter who is in which team. me in dedes position i woulda felt like i did an illegal overtake, not deserving the win...even though the sidebump was hardly visible.
but you should start to accept that you lost that race fair in the end! dede's overtake was fair and smooth! and the rules are clear, thats why i putted my time into making sporting regulations! to make it way more clearer then just say "gentleman rules"! if i would punish that overtake i had to punish 50% of all overtakes we saw already in the PTM and then it's getting ridiculous and i'm pretty sure you know that! so i can understand that you are mad, loosing a race in the last corners is not nice but with some distance you will see that your over reacting a bit here! and it's just a game mike!
Yeah, sorry i thought it was Martin (similar colors). I just had another look to the final laps of the race and i think the event on last turn was totally fair from Dede and from you as well. It wasnt blocking for me but defending position cause you left space enough for him to pass and thats exactly what he did. Of course that after such an approach to the turn, then both of you have to go wide and thats when you lost it going to grass BUT, Dede was faster then you cause he made his last pitstop much later then you so he was in a clear advantage towards you.Mike Nike wrote: i dont know if you mean me with Martin. lets just assume you do. which overly aggressive defending? you mean by skipping to block dede, but still leaving him low space to go in 2nd last corner/curvepart?

I thought that on the beginning of last lap you (Mike) would won it cause dede made a mistake and lost quite some time. The Gap was perfectly manageable but i think you played too safe on making the turns and he was risking everything besides having a faster car at the moment. He had nothing to loose. On turn before last one, you made it very carefully while he completely risk it and used as much as track as he could and that payed off in the end. Still i understand your frustration after leading whole race. For me was an epic event and you should be proud of making it even though staying on the "worst" side! Still its a 2nd place!
Expect me to be around your fights next race!

ko system ofc! i will post some infos soon!Pingu wrote:How is the show event going to work? Do we race that track just all together lol or is it a knock out scheme?
i make a new entry list! then the draws the day before! so that we can start in time cos i think it will take us more then 1 hour! but as i said, major post with rules etc will come soon, probs next week!
There are always people who sign up but don't show up, and similarly there are people signed up to this league who never visit the forum, so wouldn't it be easier to make the draws on race evening when all players are there? Have some kind of qualifying/practice round and put the fastest against the slowest, and so on. Just my two cents, because I don't think drawing in advance will work well.Lanz wrote: ko system ofc! i will post some infos soon!

sure thats a good point but if we do that all in one evening i'm afraid that it takes us 3 hours to finish! you can consider that 1 heat can take us 5mins(best of 3 with 2 laps)! thats the main reason i would like to have a fixed schedule with a time table up for at least the first round! the few times i had a server up was just a pain the **** with all the people afk and so on! that made me think thats it's maybe the best to have all fixed up before! sure some people will sign in and don't show up but i think if we make them clear if they do that the opponent gets a free pass, maybe then they don't do it! but i'm open to everything! we still have some time to find the perfect solution! i'm all ears!Tijny wrote:There are always people who sign up but don't show up, and similarly there are people signed up to this league who never visit the forum, so wouldn't it be easier to make the draws on race evening when all players are there? I don't really see how it's going to take that much longer the way I described it. In my opinion you will want to have at least one practice session anyway for the people who don't wank the track in advance, and a draw can be deduced from that very easily. Experience has shown that a predefined time table is almost always too optimistic and will just lead to impatient people, but what we can and should do is use more than one server in order to speed things up considerably.Lanz wrote:sure thats a good point but if we do that all in one evening i'm afraid that it takes us 3 hours to finish! you can consider that 1 heat can take us 5mins(best of 3 with 2 laps)! thats the main reason i would like to have a fixed schedule with a time table up for at least the first round! the few times i had a server up was just a pain the **** with all the people afk and so on! that made me think thats it's maybe the best to have all fixed up before! sure some people will sign in and don't show up but i think if we make them clear if they do that the opponent gets a free pass, maybe then they don't do it! but i'm open to everything! we still have some time to find the perfect solution! i'm all ears!
if the rules were saying that the inside driving car is allowed to keep high speed within the area "roadwidth - 1 car length" in order to force the outside car to drive perfectly outside and a collision wouldnt be the inside's cars fault, then id accept i lost the race fair there. or if you say the rules were saying that the outside car wasnt allowed to drive a more inner line than the perfect outside line to force the inside driving car to slowdown during the turn.Lanz wrote:
but you should start to accept that you lost that race fair in the end! dede's overtake was fair and smooth! and the rules are clear, thats why i putted my time into making sporting regulations! to make it way more clearer then just say "gentleman rules"!
so i can understand that you are mad, loosing a race in the last corners is not nice but with some distance you will see that your over reacting a bit here! and it's just a game mike!
by opening the door for the inside car i basicly force the inside car to "foul/bodycheck/sidebump/beef" me, if he doesnt slowdown to choose the driving line where he does not cross my outside defending line (closer than the perfect outside).
if i would do the same overtake, i wouldnt think it was fair, unless there is a rule allowing that kind of overtake.
also, not all rules are clear to everyone. i mean, around 5.3, blocking and leaving space (?)..if i read these rules again i still couldnt tell what is really meant. since you told me i coulda defended dedes attack by driving to the right side, i now know that at least this is allowed. though since i probably already steered slightly left before dede trying to pass me right, i was probably not even allowed to block in that direction anymore, anyway..
i certainly get a little angry/mad/headshaking/w.e., if you call that overtake awesome (with the collision). it coulda went out as "awesome outside defending line" with dede driving superfair, slowing a little more down to not collide with me, ending up not having enough speed on the last straight.
i admit though, that for the thin angle dede had, he still did a good job trying and without a collision it would have been a great last curve by him (it almost was), even though it actually just came to the situation because of my lack of knowledgement about the rules, which woulda made the overtake less awesome then.
i can agree on the part though that for spectators it's a great scene in the last part.
if we agree on that kinda (imo rough/unfair) overtake will be (or already were supposed to be) defined as fair in the rules of this cup, im okay with it and accept that and probably will use it by myself then, hopefully.
still, if i woulda done that overtake, i would have felt like i put out my ellbows too wide in that curve by not slowing down enough in the inside.
Apparently you are the only one seeing collision there. Ah no, the game showing "c" too. I'm not accepting anything except "hard" and "fair" when referring to that overtake!Mike Nike wrote: i admit though, that for the thin angle dede had, he still did a good job trying and without a collision it would have been a great last curve by him
Looking forward to see [Merc] AngryNike on track for next battle. Oh, I mean, next cry-overtake.
Thats teasing! I believe the rules state that its not allowed!dede wrote:Apparently you are the only one seeing collision there. Ah no, the game showing "c" too. Cmon guys, it was a great battle and theres always one that has to loose and this time it was Mikes turn. Next time it will be you Dede! Oh yeah...!
Was a Hard move yeah but i wouldnt call it unfair cause it wasnt really. I guess if Mike would have used the same level of hardnes he would have won the race i guess...
