Re: Great new TSE track

Besides even if they used released tracks, I think the track has way too great crashing oppurtunities and some outer curve curbs are missing. Yet the obviously square-fitted shape makes it feel some what boring and unrealistic. I don't say it's bad track, but not as high level as most of the tracks used in season 1.dede wrote: Tracks: TSE style, unreleased (to be downloaded from the server)

The problems with this track can be easily fixed, apart from how it has being made to fit perfectly in the square...you didnt have to use all of the space, and it just looks like lots of the twists of the track are there just to make up this space. Having said that, there are some nice corners, it has a good flow, but there are also some obstacles that could simply be taken away, and some run off areas that need to be added in.

Yes, lux showed me (an unfinished version of) the track before releasing it. This was my comment:misterpom wrote:Do you consider using TSE_Putrington as a track on the league?
Code: Select all
I tested the track and it's not bad. You could improve the quality of the image [..]. The landscape can be improved too and, as you noticed too, it's very easy to cut in some places [note: it didn't have all the obstacles he put in final version].
It sure is good for second track, not bad as I said before, but some things could be improved. I just wanted to give some constructive advise, so that third track would be better than good for second. One doesn't learn anything from praise. What could be praised on that track is those nice hedgerow letters.Lanz wrote:its his second track and for that its perfect! dont steal his confidence! nice job lux! dont listen to this
Ohhh... I'm glad to see that you are talking about my track and not about my last race.
That was my first complete track (or my second shape).
I agree with all your comments, bad and good.
When I noticed that my track and kerbs were quite pixelate (antialias was off) I didn't want to do them again and I found nothing better than blurring them. That result in a slight improvment but quality was still poor.
Anyway, that was my first track and maybe last one too.
I enjoyed designing that track, but trackmaking requires a lot of time and I have not enough.
I'll wait next year for my next attempt.

Some news..
1. I posted Flamourt test race results;
2. moerph asked to move outside of the Top20 entry list for next races, because he is busy with real life (Etmil is now 20th);
3. teams formed after the first race will start from 0 points, even if members scored points in the first race (same for other races).
Soon I will post news about Sunday's race. Stay tuned

I hope that I will not have problems with my team mate majstorfantac. He didn't come to last test race and he could maybe miss league race too. I can't contact him because he is never on MSN. I saw him only on servers few times when he asked to be with me and suggested our team name. I hope he fallows all forum posts like I said that to him.

Hehe, yep. Actually you could reproduce the track quite easily from that pic too. You just need to find the right scale & rotation.shyguy1001 wrote:If we had a pic of the track it would be ridiculously easy to reproduce it and wank it...I think it is funny even releasing the profile, cos then we can practice tracks similar to it...
