Yes, I drive a couple of laps to check for bugs and define laptime of each track.

About trackmakers, I can't be sure of how many laps they drive to test the track. Just make a comparison between own made tracks results and others to have a clue. I guess it's up to people's fairplay ;)

Awww nice race I guess. The starts were usually my strongest points but the last few races in this league I get huuuuge Fps drops during start, so huge that i hardly see what is happening.

Last Lap I was out of fuel, I saw that Mike was also out of fuel and I overtook him, then Etmil and Wokinger came and I panick moved to the side or atlesat i tried then mike got pushed in the back and thats how he finsished ahead of me :). Dang if i put more safe fuel it was an easy 5th! GG nice track

About 101 little mistakes, 10 big mistakes and little bit too slow driving cost me sure win. ;) But good racing from start to the end.

woot, i had so sick framedrops again too, but actually much longer this time, with a couple peaks coming close to the highest peak of last race curve 1.
really really lucky i kept somehow on the road partly...

and lol, pingu, i thought you let people pass in last straight on purpose - didnt realize you went out of fuel...i was actually in the mood to let you pass.

im too tired now to make whole race analysing etc., but short summarized: bad quali...then i drove too far in 2nd pit, resulting in losing 2-3 positions. then i got so frustrated that as consequence i didnt really push anymore, hardly caring if i am in front of lanz or not, since it felt like even if i would be in front of lanz i might probably only place 4-7 or so.
unfortuantely i never found the time to look at race positions, else i woulda probably at least fighted more seriously. with the mood down i kept on thinking this will be probably a cut-result in the end of the season...
but anyway, i calculated fuel for some reason wrong...thought i had max 12p consumption in 5 laps, so 14 laps would be 24+9.6...so 34 is enough. i did that and ended up with silcir-ing the last 2ish curves.
few scenes happened where i might have been slightly rough, but i did let faster cars pass often without defending.
sry @whip for being perfectly in front of you after pitting - i blocked you probably still legally there, but i didnt feel really well about that.

I had fun once again and thats the most important thing! :)

I have to say that this thing of the 2 different servers is a bit confusing! :( I was on the server with less players and made my preQ there but then i couldnt enter on Pro server cause it was full....took me a long time to be able to do it. And no one could say me which server to go...
Anyway.

Review:

Made a bad Q and ended up on 19th! Couldnt be worst then that...well only one place lower! The frustrating thing was that if i would have made the time i made on the PreQ i woud have got 8/9th place on the grid.

Race started and i wanted to avoid collisions at all costs and simply use mistakes of the cars in front to climb positions. First hard turns was a mess of cars...impossible to make any trajectory in a safe way! So i waited and was playing safe. But as i said already on chat, i think the fair play has reduced drastically in the last 2 races. I got quite some times the position and got rumbled anyway like if im not there, sad.

I still dont manage very well the fuel amounts so i try to guess more or less. I end up with more fuel then i need most of the times. I stopped on lap 12 and 24.
I had 2/3 great battles on track with again Shymek66 and with Mrtn i had as well even if i think he was very rough in defending position. I think it was with Augusto as well that i had changes of position for quite some time.

In the end i got 13th coming from 19th, i guess its not so bad. I think its my place on this competition at the moment, between 11th and 15th.

After OFFICIAL race we made 2 more, small ones (4 and 8 laps). I felt i was much more competitive now that i knew the track. Im quite curious to see how i would perform if i could practice a track before we eventually race on it. Would be a funny idea to distribute some sort of "wild card" every week, that one of the drivers placed between 10th and 20th on the championship, would receive the next race track via PM so he could practice it during the week....is it unrealistic?

Anyway, as i said, i had fun and thats what it matters! :P

The track was so easy, so I had bad quali ended on 15th position. I fucked last corner of 1st lap. After that I had a few nice battles and epic overtaking on last straight of last lap, when I gained 3 positions. I hadn't so irritating lags and warps like last time, but I lost maybe 3-5s due to today lags and warps. It should be better next time.

I am always present in both servers, so you should just wait where you are and I'll tell you to switch. Today the rookie server crashed, though, so we had more troubles than normally.

Yeah, that's unrealistic because at the moment we have already too many players with the track (= trackmaker + organizer). But no worries, next league will be with released tracks :)

Ok, just for the principle, i want to present an appeal by unfair conduct!
The appeal is against Augusto on end of lap 16 beginning of lap 17!
I was with more speed on the finishing line and tried to overtake on the right side, he closed the door, then i went to the left, he closed again (2 times change of direction not allowed or? ), then i tried once more on the right side and he close once again.
I will not gain anything with this but, its to set an example! :) Nothing personally against you Augusto, besides this i had a great battle with you! ;)

One more thing that its going on my nerves...THE REPLAY! How the $&/do i change laps inside of the replay? I can go back to beginning but not change between laps. I also can change between players but....it jumps constantly back and forwards between players. I think it changes by position but, the one it was registered last time all cars passed on finishing line or... (im not sure) by the position the car started the race at the start!
Its really annoying cause when you are watching a battle and you just want to change to the front car to see his perspective you jump to a completely different one!!

So it means if you by accidently press the key combination to go to the beginning of the race you have to fast forward again until where you were (in this case i was watching on lap 24!!! :( ). Let me know on this....

About next season being released tracks...hmmm sounds interesting but...i would add an small point. That the tracks could be unreleased (new to all) but only released on the week of the race so everyone can test it how you want.

I watched the video and your cars were far enough and with same speed at the end of the straight. I would consider Augusto's move unfair if your cars had collided. That didn't happen because they were too far.
Afinfas wrote:How the $&/do i change laps inside of the replay?
The replay goes forward only, with three different speeds. You can go faster (skipping some parts) by holding SHIFT key and pushing right arrow, if I remember correctly. I know it sucks, but there are technical reasons behind this "feature". It's not a real video :P

yeah!.. i remember that.. it wasnt my intention to block you like that but again, lag wouldn let me see where your car was...

first when i see you move to the right to overtake me, i also move right to make you take a bad line in the corner (legal)... then i see you are on my right so i decide to move left to take a better line... but when i do, i realize that you also did the same (i couldnt see well because of lag) so inmediatly i go right again to avoid blocking you. Again, you did the same move as me :S .. anyway, i made a mistake in that corner and you overtook me without any problems... and in case i steal speed from you in the straight i would have let you overtook me. im sorry.

LOL

No problem mate! I can understand how you explained the incident! :D I only presented the appeal cause it looked really on purpose and i wanted to set an example for future races. As i said before...i enjoyed the battle with you. No stress.

I dont know how the rules are here but on F1 you are allowed to change direction to defend your position only once. If you do it more then one, then its considered blocking. Anyway, this is just a game! ;)
Cant wait for next great duels, even if its fighting for 14th place. Makes fun! :D

ps:But i really think i have more to give on this competition. Im slowly starting to have the grip of the car and understanding how to approach turns. But it all depends on track ofcourse. This last one i really enjoyed. Simple but great!

wow what a race! first i have to say that i really liked the track! it had a nice flow! with some slowing sand in it it could of been a 10! specially in the chicane!
race: wow what a start, really bad 1st lap for me! matic just braked a bit to late in turn2, lost some spots there! then in the chicane i was to optimistic which almost ended up with hevonen in the wall, had to wait there! loads of cars passing and then i was totally in the middle of the backpack madness! somehow i got beaten up there and a few corners later i was last! i thought to myself that this is a race to drop and just continued driving! soon i started gaining positions and 4 laps later i was right behind mike in 8th position! then i realized that this race was not over yet even though i lost loads of ground to leaders! i really had a good pace, still 3rd place in the end was kinda surprise! never thought i still could reach the podium after that first lap! really enjoyed that one!

Agree you with the slower sand. I personally hate tracks which allows you do the shortcuts without making you pay for doing so... in first version I used much more slower sand but didn't quite like how it affected the overall "feel" of this track. But next time, I will try to find perfect balance with the driveability and the irritateability. :)

Ok i just saw the replay once again but this time on your perspective! :D Indeed, a fantastic performance!!!
I have to take my cap out in respect of the fair play showed...you hit someone on first lap and then (as rules of decency, not used by everyone unfortunately), you let him pass again but...as a consequence, you also let pass the whole pack of cars! Me included! :D

This replay is a great demonstration of what this game can be! You got them bet i will post my replay of this race on the NSGP forum for them to have a look and tell them to see it on your perspective! You can resist to these kind of battles seen today....

This game only needs to address some issues to be an amazing one!!! And most of them are not related with gameplay, which is great! They are mainly other stuff like some described on the NSGP vs TS thread! For when the open source???? :D
OPEN SOURCE is the way!!!

EDIT: @Scud GREAT track mate! I really enjoyed it....

A disappointing race, yet pole position ensured that I made my mark. For three corners I was thinking I could disappear into the distance, but this race made sure that I now understand the fuel consumption a lot better, and that I have a race-consistency closely related to the Heisenberg-principle.

Had a great tussle with Pingu, and some other close skirmish. I had forgotten about Pingu when I pitted a lap before, so when he drove out of the pits and onto the first straight, he made an agressive appearance. I understood why at once. We were fighting for position! A real fight, which I won, Pingu.

I owned a lot of people yesterday, but could never make it stick. Concentration is key, but I was very much pumped up, because of my awesome .2 seconds superfaster qualifying lap. At least I got a lap in the lead.

Cheers! Better luck next time :)

EDIT, indeed Scud!

Another second place, but still I can't help but feel I could've done better. I ruined my best qualifying lap in the last turn and my race start wasn't what it should've been, a few cars overtook me in the first corners. Pingu and Matic did help me a bit by letting me pass again - nice, but quite unnecessary, not sure why they did that. After also overtaking Etmil and Oompa, only dede was still ahead and I felt I was able to challenge him. Until I crashed at some point, and my race was over.

EDIT: Nice track indeed, there were really a few exciting combinations. The terrain on the inner corners was a bit too fast though - for corner exits it was good.

You didn't overtake me, I was planning on letting you through and then I screwed up. You also didn't ruin your qualifying lap, cause you weren't supposed to beat me. And I had a full load of fuel, don't you forget. I only took out 70% right afterwards to confuse y'all. There is a fosset hidden somewhere in the rear of my car, so I snuck behind a wall to go pee.

Anyway, I liked the fast insides. It forced me to be quicker about correcting the car, whilst trying to cut the corners (preferrably on the inside, Tijny, or Eddie, or Henk. Sometimes I dream that I am you, only to find out that you, are not you, you are me!)

NO SHIT!

You're right, I wasn't supposed to beat you in the qualifying round, but I was supposed to edge out dede for 2nd place at least. Then he would've had the bad start that I did, Pingu and Matic would not have let him through so easily (because nobody wants dede to win 26 times in a row) and you and I would've brought home a Dutchie 1-2 in the end, in indeterminate order.

I won! yeah that is right #1!!!

Let us just ignore the minor details...

...like it being a rookie race, pablinho having to leave midrace while he was leading, hazard got disconnected one lap before the end (he was about 3 seconds ahead of me) and that I lead for a whopping total of 2 laps of the race.

So yeah, xzeal was totally unbeatable, godlike even.

Next time I will just beef him out of the way. I'd glady sacrifice myself for a Dutchie win. Just buy me some new paint with your winnings, ok?

Track:
Pfff. First of all, while driving a warm up I thought: "What a nice track here!". But during the first quali I realized it has one pretty bad element - sand was too f*** fast. For some newcomers it could be cool, cause (like T said) that kind of sand will not punish you at all. Btw, I still liked it more than Lanz's sand style where you totally stuck in like it's some kind of jelly. :)

Race:
Man, while playing the first quali I found out really nice driving line especially in the central part of the track. But somehow I didn't manage to get bigger advantage from it in second (race) quali.
I felt really fast during the whole race. But 3 f*** big and totally unnecessary mistakes in a row ruined my whole performance:
-First one (lap13/14) - I hit in the f*** pit enter. Btw, I enjoyed watching Scud hitting the same cone as I did there (lap 23/24).
-Second one (lap 14/15) - I hit the wall just after that fast chicane combo in the middle of the track for no big reason. Phew, I almost fucked up Oompa there.
-And the third one (lap 15/16) - Pingu was preparing to overtake me in a very dangerous area where I could get out of the road with just a little touch. So I decided to let him pass and get my spot quickly again by better exiting speed from the curve, but ... kaboom - I didn't expect that obstacle to be so close there :) . That was just a stupid idea. I'm sure Pingu was laughing there.

I also had 2 more "phew" moments (except that one with Oompa mentioned up there):
-Lap 1 (first slow curve) Mike Nike - damn man, I couldn't even noticed 1 single pixel between us. That was so f*** close. Images of the cars were colliding for sure, but seems pats were not. :)
-Lap 24 (my second pit stop) - o boy, I'm sure that only my FC skills could save Pingu there from hit. Otherwise he could easily plan one more pit stop after that one. :)
