Argh, when driving alone the restart time is to fast if you miss 2 corners your gone and the track ends!

14.667 with antislider...remembering how sick my 14.735 felt back then, this laptime seems to be so ridiculous ubersick^^...that i'm excited to see the how tight the curves were driven in the replay..
although i felt comfortable driven the middlepart with braking, i remember doing the 14.735 without - still dont know what might be the best solution

I was pretty certain I had driven a faster Speeder time back in the 1.0.8 days, so I did some research and found a video of a 17.269 (21 May 2008, beaten now), and to my big surprise I also found an 18.681 with AntiSlider (17 June 2008).

Proof and Proof (old format, won't work with TS 2.0 (edit: wtf, they do work))

Wow nice to finaly watch a pro replay of 18.681! Gives lots of insight:p

I think that we should play for points or something. Otherwise, this cup is made for 3 players only. It's non-sense for most of players to play for record.

I don't think points are needed, it will scare most new players i think + it's already very good as it is now. Now they just focus on driving their own pb's every time etc. and improve their play

That's exactly the goal. You drive against the record and your limits.

So you can see your limits in comparison with everybody else. If you only played offline, you have no idea of the times everybody else are doing and vice versa.

The enjoyable thing about this tournament is setting yourself targets, based upon what everybody else is doing, and just seeing how high up the order you can get. Of course with the calibre of players we have at the moment, that will never be 1st, but you just aim as high as possible.

And, the more competitions like this you participate in, the more likely you are to be challenging for that 1st place in the future

The challenge is online because playing together is better than playing alone. We hardly had this kind of online activity since years

Weekly Wank #2 Results
Janne dominated this week's challenge setting two new world records. Matti's Slider record got beaten only by 0.011, meaning that it was one of the hardest beaten record so far. Mike Nike, Tijny and dede finished very close to Janne (within 0.030), but none of them managed to beat Matti's previous record. Whiplash was the biggest surprise in Slider ranking, finishing right behind the big names and in front of people like mikko and siLciR.
Janne won AntiSlider's ranking as well, setting a neat 18.650. Tijny was the only other one to hit 18.6, but he still remained over the previous lap record. For the third position dede beat Mike Nike by 1ms, fifth place for Alex. Arjen and Hevonen are the surprises in Top 10.
The Speeder ranking was the least tight, with Tijny finishing about one tenth in front of dede, Janne and Mike Nike.

None of those cars are particular favourites of mine, so I guess I'll use this week to experiment with 2-handed driving for the first time (which will probably be quite difficult for me to adjust to after 5 years of 1-handed driving lol).

Expect some very slow laptimes from me this week!

Weekly Wank #3 Results
This week we didn't have great challenges for the top laptimes, even though all records got beaten. The biggest gap was obtained by dede with Spinner, one tenth faster than Janne and 0.045s faster than the previous record. VanhaPuinenAuto missed the podium by 0.016s, but he must be happy for his result anyway. With EasySlider the pace was set by dede again, who beat the record by just 0.012s. Janne ended second again, about one tenth behind. Third place for Alex in front of VanhaPuinenAuto by just 0.015s. Janne set the new AntiSlider record, driving a new world record on 18.797. Second place for dede, third place for Whiplash. Nice fifth place for tikru2.
