Although we had troubles with the track, we still finished before 21:30 which is "as planned". Thanks everybody for joining this league in 2012, hope to see you for remaining races in 2013!
About my race comment, I didn't really find a good pace in the warmup & pre-qualifying, so I had to drive 6 laps in qualify and still screw up all of them! In race I was in the middle of the pack, I tried to keep driving safe even though it's a bit less easier than when starting in front row: managed to do it well. After some laps I was in a "stable" 5th position, which means that I had troubles catching people in front. I started to think about changing strategy. First I thought about a 3-stopper, but I didn't want to fall back in the middle of the pack again, so I decided to make a 1-stopper. Unluckily I couldn't stay ahead of Tijny in lap 19, so I knew that first position was gone. I drove a consistant second stint, so I finished in second place despite some brazilian blocks.. Woop!

First of all I have to say I'm sorry for uploading a broken track, kind of spoiled my evening a bit. I forgot to remove some tile definitions from the .til file, but in my defense, it's not all that straightforward to check if you uploaded all the right files. dede normally would've caught this by testing the track, but he trusted me to do it instead. Well, I guess we've both learned from this.
well.. this was definitely my best race of all... i was 8th in pre-qualy, 7th in qualy and 10th in race!!! and i could also have finished without being laped if i didnt make that hyper-mega-stupid mistake in lap 36 of 38 (i was looking to fuel and laps and i forgot that i was driving
)...
I think that the track was the main reason of my good performance... i made a lot of little mistakes without loosing much time... in other track i would have been lapped twice
... other aspect was that some pro drivers weren't racing .. (mike nike, pingu, etc).. and that allowed me a better final result
I really enjoyed this race.. i had the oportunitie to fight a little against matic, whiplash, scud and even dede in first lap

That was the hardest track until now, but it was the easiest to get some good place, cause everyone sucked on it. Anyway, that didn't help me finish the race cause of f*** lag attack (500 ping).
Some players were just too rough, especially in that fast combo of first track part. Some of them are just always rough (Shitmeck) and some of them needs more practice on the track. That's why unreleased will always suck.
Btw, track was kinda good, expect those weird kerbs (too slow). Offtrack terrains could be a little bit slower instead (sand especially).

The idea was to make it a somewhat viable driving line to avoid the kerbs altogether, so that there's a far smaller chance of getting on the sand. I mean, in real-life racing tracks it's also not beneficial at all to use too much kerb. In my opinion the balance between kerbs and tarmac was good here, but people just drove through the sand instead now because that was also a reasonably fast line.Whiplash wrote:Btw, track was kinda good, expect those weird kerbs (too slow). Well, imo kerbs was good, but as it was said sand was too fast.Tijny wrote:The idea was to make it a somewhat viable driving line to avoid the kerbs altogether, so that there's a far smaller chance of getting on the sand. Good and entertaining race once again. Only had some problems with pit strategy, wasnt sure how much fuel I need, when to stop and how often I should stop. It is hard to concentrate on driving and math at the same time(specially when your math skills sucks). But ending at 8th place is still good enough and I know I can do much better if I take some math lessons.
Track was really good, almost perfect for my taste. Only thing I didnt like was those couple "offroad corners". Fastest driving line should be on the track... But otherwise it was perfect track, liked those slowing kerbs. 9,5 poits!

My hand hurted the whole race and hours after it, don't know what was wrong with it, too much wanking? Lap times were decent but I made stupid mistakes, then hitted the pit stone wall at full speed.
That must have cost many places but im still happy because lag problems are gone.
Very good track btw, allowed different racing lines.
