How many people would be interested in participating in puna ball tournament cups ?

Ive gotten the idea from storm a while ago since he was/is going to set 1 up.

when voting Yes on the poll i would like a comment in this topic.

yea i feel we need a puna cup to keep it interesting and i was thinking to organize one some time ago but a puna cup its probably the hardest cup to organize, cant be only one person organizing and definately need some adjustments from previous cups. I have some ideas as i told u but i broke my left hand and im not feeling like typing all of that only with right hand... Anyway i dont see many activity nowadsays so this post might let us know if we have enuff interested teams for a cup...

I'd be in of course. I posted some ideas some months ago, at keppana's server. But apparently he didn't want to continue with the organization.

Im shit at puna- have the same problem as F1, make too many silly mistakes.

I would be in for it .. but i think it only will be cool if all the teams are as fair as possible and not that 2 pro's like Badeend, Dede or Tijny play together in a Punaball team xd

First ill start off with a question for Storm: since you gave me the idea it feels like ill be stealing the oppurtunity from you to set it up,
so 1 sec ago i came with 3 options

1. with your permission ill set it up
2. you set it up
3. togheter we could set it up

@ Shyguy: mistakes are there to be made, although i might be biggest cry baby when a mistake is made and i go nuts i still play it and still improve.

@ Pingu: i see your issue with this and it is quite possible 2 good players end up with each other maybe even 4 good players, maybe well even have people pick their own teammate.
basically i cant promise that it won`t happen but ill try for amateurs like myself to keep it a fun cup what ever teams will jump out.

Then now for some ideas for teams, points, results, everything!!!
i can think of somethings like this all day to keep the cup effectively working and fun.

Teams idea`s

Randomized teams is an option / Pick your own teammate is an option.

Further more you cant really think of anything else to make teams i guess putting a weaker player with a better player (too even up all teams) will probably result in either confrontation with each other or confrontation against the cup holder(s).
any other idea`s are gladly welcome.

Matches idea`s

i have no idea yet how this will go it might go poule`s (groups) it might be a KO tournament, it will depend on how many players we got when we start this cup and what those players want.

i can think of many things here but ill give 1 example for now:
we have 16 players - 8 teams
Team 1 vs Team 2 | Week 1 | When?: those 4 players have 1 week the time to come with an agreement for the time they want to play ball.

Team 3 vs Team 4 | Week 2 | ect. ect.
another option

just depends on the people who enter how fast they want this cup to go and their availibility.

Rules (that i can allready post out and are bendable)

Every match will be followed by a referee

First team that reaches 10 points wins

Time limit of 25 min (if after 25 min the score is even, then extra time will come in play and teams will play golden goal)

Hope to have given some interested people a little input about how i would set this tournament up if anything is not as you would want just post it out here and well discuss about it.

This was my idea about scheduling matches:

My idea is to fix schedules just like in normal cups. This way it's easy to establish who isn't showing up and to assign forfait results. In the other way, we could let players arrange their matches before scheduled date.

I don't quite understand why you would want a referee during the matches, since this would mean one more player that should be available for the scheduled date. Usually saving a recording made the trick.

About random teams, it could be a very bad option. When we decide who to team up with we aren't able to organize our matches already, imagine when we get an unknown player assigned randomly.

However, I wouldn't hate to play with a noob or average player willing to improve and to learn punaball (I actually never played with a top player anyway).

You played with olio, didn't you?

I'm not sure if I still have the dedication to arrange all of my matches (used to be a lot of stress for me in previous cups), but if matches are scheduled beforehand I'll probably join if I find a willing teammate.
A single 10-goal game seems a little short to me though, 1 bad moment and it could all be over. I would prefer a best-of-3.

I will clear some things up

@dede referee isnt needed just sounded nice

Last night me and storm talked about it for a little and he gave me permission

to set it up he will help me out tho only he doesnt have much time on his hands so ill try the best i can.

Yesterday he gave me an interesting idea not much diffrent then what was planned for the F1 league,
everyone can pick his/her own teammate
the idea 2 groups of 4 teams, 1 group with pro teams 1 group with amateur teams
example pro teams : tijny-dede storm-badeend
example amateur teams : jurgen-mouse shyguy-pingu just examples

every team will play a best of 3 against each other team in their group.
when all matches have been played and results are here at the organization,
the top 2 amateur teams will promote and bottom 2 pro teams will drop to the amateur group

this might sound unfair but if you think about it this cup will not only offer the chance to play top teams and improve your game much faster,
it will also show which team is capable the most of teamwork/skill/luck/fighting spirit.
END IDEA 1 (ask for questions if i explained it too weird always find it hard to put it on paper

)

now about TEAMS prolly the biggest problem i suppose.
i could decide to randomly put players togheter where ALWAYS people will be happy and unhappy, so i dont think i will be using this the only thing i could do is ask those top players to pick someone below their level to play with,
if they do not i can`t just throw them out can i

so everyone can start looking for someone they want to play with

Going off from opnions we will most likely schedule the matches

nice to have:
yearly (antislider) punaball world cup 1vs1 and 2vs2 and 2vs2 nationscup
groups or matchup seedings partly based on some kinda ranking

additional nice to have:
not just default car antislider and default track -> higher goal width and fixed or selectable other cars

I'm +1 for something different.

I like the idea of using different cars. Or, at least one player must use Anti, and the other a car of his choice. Can add some more tactics, and set defense/offense players. Something like this would be interesting.

Bigger goals are great for 3v3 I miss those games....

5vs5.. you have to get the ball just behind the line. Kinda a goal with the height of a whole punaball track...

Maybe, you would have to make a car which cannot hit the ball very far at all or a pitch which slows the ball down much but not the car as otherwise it would be ridiculously easy to score.
