Hey, long short story: I suggest a Puna Cup in one afternoon(maybe saturday?) with 16 to 32 players, a big one but with more admins to help the current system of one-guy-only, or, I would suggest a punaball afternoon with a mix of old legends(but still newbs, like whiplash:p but with real ones like dede or tijny) and new legends(like m....palo) and other apprentices of legends, this would be my favourite list:

so a 1vs1 cup?
If you manage to get the names on that list to participate you might be better off with some sort of league system where people set up their own match times, with something like 2 matches per week. Plenty of people with admin rights to help out with that (we could set one of the autoservers to 1vs1 by default).
The "everything in one afternoon" could get a little hectic and force us to use the "10 minute matches" bit or something to avoid it taking over 3 hours.
PS: if it is punaball - I am in.

Zeal, my idea was a classic 2 x 2 afternoon of puna, but I don't mind to play 1 vs 1 as well, but maybe it will be a bit monothon:p

6 "votes" already and the westernstyle "sunday noon showdown" is probably gonna be good for most players.
anyway, i like to leave the suggestion here, that the weight of each participant should be considered too, based on the organisators opinions, cuptype (interest of player to join the cuptype), maybe playerskill as well..
example:
if there will be 10/12 votes for a day (dede tijny dont have time) but 9/12 on other day where both of them have time, then the tournament might more likely be played on the 9/12 day in most cases.
