2006 Rally Total Cross Tournament! Camp of Fire Results!

Starts 8 October this year. All official races will be sundays 19:00 GMT (14:00 PM USA and Canada). The 3 pre races will be Friday September 29 (3:00 PM New York Time!!!), Saturday September 30 (Regular time)and Sunday, October 1st. Theese three races are not official and not important. If you wish to come you can come. There will be 11 races, 30 laps each. Before the 11 major races there will be three races of open cup. 10 laps each. They are to know who is driver and communicate with the drivers to know them well.

I suppose, since you just returned, and you are already making a cup, people dont want to enter yet. Dont worry man, the cup starts in over 2 months and you only announced it hours ago. People will enter.

You should also give more details on the tracks you need. Rally tracks could be made in so many different ways. I may make some depending on the work needed to do them.

If people (including me) will work on them, so the best and coolest, trickest and funnest will be chosen to the 14 tracks. And what do you mean "Rally tracks can be made in so many different ways"? Any rally track is a rally track no matter how it made. I can make it full of turns, or i can make it 2 straight lines, is that what you meant?

First plan everything from A to Z and that announce the tournament.

I'mean first have the tracks all done, the car you are going to use, maybe test your server for load stress, where and how you are going to display the tournament information/results etc etc...

We are still July.. i think it was a bit too early to announce tournament for October.

And something else, start a tournament when there are no tournaments going on. What i mean is many tournaments going on at the same time, may get people bored.

its okay. im just announcing the tournament i wanted to make in the beginning of this summer but i was retired so im starting in in fall now.

tracks will be ready soon - i hope, maybe, there even would be a special car (otherwise it'll be Impreza-Rallysport by Jazzyclub)

Small bike = less collision and a clean race

Rally tracks can be made in many ways, Wolf. Here are some examples :
1 - Jeffrey TSM style - Arena style rally tracks with walls.
2 - Long, endurance style. 1 minute per lap.
3 - jumps / motocross style
4 - short tracks. 15 - 25 seconds per lap

The style of track also is important, when making a rally track.
- Track width, how wide do you want it?
- Complex or simple? lots of twists and turns or only a few turns?
- Detailed or plain? lots of drtails on the track (trees, houses, roads, rivers, terrain changes)
- Custom tiles or original tiles?

See Wolf, there are so many ways to make a rally track. Really it is like this for any style race track, so it is best to include LOTS of detail when you ask people to make a rally track.

Jeffrey said in a post, that when you host a cup, all the tracks should be similar in style. Now say you ask me and Jeffrey to make rally tracks. We both have different styles, and would produce very different tracks. If you were to give details to both of us (terrain, detail, custom tiles, length, complexity ect..) then we could produce tracks in similar style, so they fit together well in a cup.

If you want, Wolf, i can help you set this cup up. I have hosted a few leagues so i know how they work, and what people like.

Remember, dont always make a cup based on what you want only, talk to the other drivers and get lots of information. If you want people to come, your cup must appeal to them. Make polls, e mail them, use MSN, Pm them here, just get some feedback on what people want.

Okay here you go.
1. Width: wide enough to be able to kick your opponent off the track or be able to go around

2. Not short tracks but not that long like you said - 1 minute per lap

3. Jumps! Motocross style!
4. More twists and turns - think about it - its rally!
5. Detailed of course.
6. All tiles you want. Thats doesn't matter.
I will have to do a lot of things, and of course i will do some tracks but i have something else to do about all that... ive got a website to make.

Well i have edited the first post and wrote with big red font ATTENTION: blah blah bla - thats about the time and when will be the 3 pre races.
As you remember I told you there will be 11 races + 3 pre races. Only the last problem is car/cars. If its gonna be a single car it will be made by somebody (or even Jazzy) just like impreza or anyother of his rallysports but looks like impreza. The name will be Total Cross or maybe Total X

Anyway, the most important about the single car choice - the car has to be made that way so any driver would put a theme on his car so we won't go like - omg where is my car, oh shit its in the corner of the screen. you know. Somone has also make the themes - i have no idea about that. I actually know how to make a car but it always doesnt work! I asked Mikey he can't get it too. Whatever. I will try to edit a car, test it. So if there will be a lot of cars - for all drivers they have to be just with different color. For you guys most important is work on tracks what i will to do but i will also work on the car/cars. If i would get trouble again i will have to ask someone.
Okay, so i will make a poll about cars over here, in this topic. Vote!

We still need some more information. You have not said anything about the actual event. Nothing about fuel, damage, race length, points system, qualifying ect... We need much much info.

I dont understand you here. If you mean theme=car color, what is the problem? You dont really need to make many of the same car with different colors, we can make out own colors. It is pointless to make multiple cars with different themes (unless it is some type of F1 theme or something).

Your information on the tracks you need is a bit rough. It takes a while to make tracks that are long and detailed like that. Still, you did not give any info on what they should look like.

I think this can be a very nice cup, but you need to take your time man! You just returned to TS! When you want to make a league, you really need to plan things out. Know exactly (EXACTLY) what you want, plan everything, and then announce it. You know i started hosting an F1 race in January.....but i actually started planning it in October.

Im happy to see you want to start this in October, in that time im sure you can prepare to make a nice cup.

2. damage - i dont really know how to use it but this is one of the most important things. damage will be in. just need and explaining on it.

I didn't really finish experimenting with the terrain so it might not be optimal, but works pretty ok imo. You get jumps and bumpy rocks and potholes. Designed with Jazzy's rally cars in mind.
