Capital and lower case letters

Post by dragonstar » Wed Oct 04, 2006 12:46 pm

When making your own cars, pay attention to capital and lower case letters in the car-file. Make sure your filenames in the car-file are exactly the same as the real files. This is because in linux your car won't work if the filenames aren't the same.

For example you make a car with files like Car-pat.png, Car.png and Car.wav. Now the working car-file would look like this:
mask Car-pat.png
image Car.png
enginesample Car.wav
If you make it as follows, it won't work in linux.
mask car-pat.png
image car.png
enginesample car.wav
This little "bug" exists at least in some cars made or modified by Jeffrey, like Nascar and Formula-X2006.

Well, you waste more your time by writing in this forum that you do not waste your time by doing that. Dragonstar did not ask a lot. Obeying it would only require kindness, nothing else.

Such disrespect :(, Windows is the home user OS, Linux is the programmers OS.

I do have Linux installed on another drive. Because, if Windows does break down again, I don't lost everyting, simple I go to Linux and backup important files from Windows drive and make clean install. That happens in about half years. And it's true TS does work better on Linux because there is no need for extra programs eating resources like firewall, antivirus and spyware software :D
