ahhhhh were just messin' with em'! They spam and talk crap why can't we have a nice laugh after it? :)

Anyway, it is all over now. Spamming i think (hope...) is pretty much done, and any spam that does come up will be removed. We have had our laugh, and now we are done too. :)

Hey, insults and jokes are pretty welcome since we have only one moderator in this forum and since he is spending A LOT OF TIME in order to keep this forum interesting without banning anyone. If some guy acts like an ass posting 3000 unnecessary posts/day, he has to consider himself lucky if he hasn't got a ban yet.

Thank you Mouse for your work.

So far it's been much closer to 1 unnecessary post/day. I could name many others than the NFS/NOS members, including me, who have made many unnecessary posts and even elsewhere than in off-topic. But yes, NFS/NOS post much more spam than an average member of the forum. Anyway, the line between a spam or not a spam isn't so clear, in particular because this is off-topic section. Removing all spam, whoever decides which belongs to that, is OK to me. Public humiliation of other people, in turn, makes me feel sick. That's the reason for my previous post because I did not want to see this topic to develop into that.

I agree

How about making it a community decision? We could have elections to decide moderators and other stuff. That way inactive moderators will automatically loose votes and eventually not be re-elected when they have left the community. And it doesn't have to be for the forums only. It could be running the entire site and whatnot. Any decisions that need to be made could be done by the "TS government". New ranking system, new cup ideas, blah blah blah... We could have a self-governing community  I like the sound of that ;)

What you all think?

EDIT: Please don't reply to this here. I have reposted this at the appropriate place: http://www.jollygoodgames.com/forum/vie ... =7891#7891

This is rediculous...... Raptor, please man, please, stop.

Mikko, you can see here in this topic a nice example of spam. Also, another topic has been locked (not deleted, yet) so you can see another example.

Talking about quiting TS and playing another game, or who will go to what team, NO ONE cares about this (other than the few people talking about it) so, it is not wanted here.

Maybe a post limit is not such a bad idea?

Yes, I do. While it doesn't bother me, I completely understand that this is annoying for many, in particular for the moderator(s). It's best to remove these spam posts and, if the message does not get through, ban the spammers from the forum for some time.

If they don't learn then just give them a 1 week ban or something, you are the moderator, why are you asking us what to do about it?

Pretty stupid question: he is the moderator, yes, but he isn't the god. Mouse is just trying to know what's the best for the community.

There are always unneeded post in forums and not all of them are spam. Some of them are just unnecessary and if there is an off-topic area, there people can post what ever they like. Although if there is a lot of post with no "message" then post with messages can be easily buried under huge amount of posts.

Yes, some of NOS and NFS posts are maybe a bit like spam but I think Mouse (and others) is a little too quick to condemn them. As I understand -wolf- and raptor are young (younger than most of "us") so it is understandable.

I am glad to see so many replys here :)

Hengari - "Yes, some of NOS and NFS posts are maybe a bit like spam but I think Mouse (and others) is a little too quick to condemn them. As I understand -wolf- and raptor are young (younger than most of "us") so it is understandable."

This is the rason [age] i have not tried to get them banned, or punish them. I am hoping by locking and deleting topics (ones that have nothing to do with TS, or that start a battle - spam) they will soon stop.

Right, anyone can post what they want here is the off-topic section, but if it has nothing to do with anyone but themselves (or a few friends) then really it should be talked about somewhere else, like their own forum or MSN messanger.

Thanks again guys, for your replys.
