The first 2 rounds of the Formula 1 calendar (Australia and Malaysia) have been confirmed as evening races so they definitely won't be night races now.

New starting time is 17:00 local time (10:00 GMT).

It's the same again, evening or night, some kind of lights is required, very bright lights in this case. More near to equator night/darkness comes very quick after evening and the race may look like full night when the race get's older..

Not quite. The whole point in not making it a full night race was so that no lights have to be installed around the circuits (they didn't want the costs of that). So i'm not entirely sure how it will work, but it's not going to be held under floodlights like Singapore... which is strange at that time of day because, as you say, it gets dark quick there doesn't it :?

Taken from crash.net...
"Malaysia has been approached about the possibility of joining Singapore in hosting races under floodlight, but this is being seen as a compromise for the time being."

Well, I changed both of them to evening event  5PM is not night at all, it starts somewhere in 10PM, but there might be total darkness when the race is ending in 6:30PM. We will then see. Hope for good race.

Superbike season is starting tonight, wohoo!

E: Fantastic racing, both starts, fighting for podium positions and victory till the last curves. This season will be very interesting. Congratulations to Noryaki "nitroni" Haga for the victory, and to Ben Spies for his very first victory on his second only start. Move from MotoGP to Superbike was a good choice.

Nice F1 race in Australia, amazing Brawn GP :) Rumours told there could be a late winter storm in Malaysia which may bring snow to the track. Teams have been prepared to use spiked tires on their cars  Source: April Fools' Day News.
