Problem with linux sliders

Post by diogodpc » Wed Nov 29, 2006 12:46 pm

Hello,

I've recently started to play turbo sliders in linux (tried fedora 6 and ubuntu 6.10).

It works ok, but every now and then, during a race, I momentarily loose control of the car because the keys stop responding. For instance I'm accelerating and the car does not respond, or does not turn when I'm pressing the key.

This does not appear to happen when I play demo in windows.

Can anyone help?

thanks for your time

You sure it's not lag or that you don't accidentally press t (to chat)? I'm using Ubuntu 6.10 and the game works fine here. My only problem is that I can't get scandinavian characters to work with this version of Ubuntu.

Thanks for the reply.

I don't think it's lag since other people with windows boxes don't seem to have any issues...

Also my keys are opqa so t is pretty far away...

Cheers

I had the same problem on windows, and it wasn't a normal lag caused by my connection. Open the game and then, during the race, push F10. Please report here all the statistics written there (maybe a screenshot is useful!).

In my case, I had the TV-Out turned on, and that was creating problem with the game (the same problem you described).
Maybe some application is slowing down your computer :)

It's been a long time since you posted... but as I had the same problem I'm writing here to give some support.

Try to disable the screensaver, it worked for me ;)
