Settings for running on Vista

Post by Mouse » Mon Dec 24, 2007 12:08 am

Hello urrrveryone! I just got a new PC a few days ago, and it's got Vista. I installed TS, went very smooth and it works. Only thing is, it does not seem to run so smooth. It's rather "skippy," the cars are rather jerky. Anyone know how to fix this? I know for sure my hardware is good enough, i probably just need to change some settings.

Specs:
Vista home premium
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU 2.40GHz
3GB RAM
128MB ATI Radion HD 2400

Don't know what specs are needed, I'm not very intelligent when it comes to these kinds of things.

Any advice is appreciated and in the meantime i will try to resolve the problem myself. :)

Playing TS under Vista has been discussed earlier (a year ago) in topic viewtopic.php?t=883, and Ande said that updating the SDL-libraries and setting the alpha blending off. He also wrote that he would do a new version of TS with updated drivers but I don't know about that.

Other things you could test is that try to use lower graphic settings and see what is the CPU load (press F10 when playing). You could also try to set sliders.exe to run on 1 CPU

Alright, thanks for the info. :)

It's only a minor problem (game is very playable) but it's a bit hard to concentrate and some turns cannot be made with much accuracy.

After some testing, i found a cure. Dede's advice for running in window mode works well, my load went from 100% to 35% with no problems.

I guess the only bad thing is, i must use a high resolution for a big window (my monitor is a 46 inch TV) and the text is very tiny. eheheh. Is there a way to increase chat text size?

Thanks to the ones who helped me. :)
