Zoom Level

At the options you can choose your zoom lvl I.E 1.0 or 0.8 or higher, whatever you want :p. At which zoom lvl do you guys play? I think lower is easier to play? Or is it just me

Ps. Maybe its an idea to make a question forum

My zoom lvl is 0.8 (resolution 800x600).

In my view, the car becomes too small if play 0.7 zoom lvl. I don't like 0.9 either, because if I don't know the track, I find hard to know where to go.

So, i recommend to play 0.8.

i play with 0.7 for punaball and the ideal for me is 1.0 for races but i usually go for 0.9 or 0.8 because i don't know many of tracks and with 1.0 i can't see where the next turn will be.

Change ShrinkSoccer in game.ini to 1, that way you will see the whole arena regardless of your zoom level.

As for myself, I always used values between 0.9 and 1.0, but now with my new PC and monitor I find 0.8-0.9 more comfortable.

When I play with the SCARTS guys (Nascar racing) I play at 1024x7??. When I play GPOR I play at 1200x800.

I use 800x600 because otherwise chat font is too little. I was used to play with 1.0 zoom when I had 17'' screen, but now with 21'' screen 0.9 is better because cars are of the same size of 1.0-17'' and I can see a wider area of the track (I can also see the whole pb track). Zoom and video settings are very important in my opinion. Keeping always the same zoom helps getting better skills, too. When I changed my pc, I had to change whole video settings and that resulted in a 0.2-0.5/lap gap from previous personal bests.
Predictive camera is useful only if you need to check where is next curve (with very fast cars) or in battle. So I turn it on only when needed (I play with asdw keys and predictive camera key is q).
I don't play with any video effect on, except for skidmarks.
HudMode 8 doesn't display popup fuel messages next to the car.

Dede, do you play with one hand then because wsad or arrows are to close togerther for me..

i use left hand only to brake... right hand handles the other 3 buttons.

I play[ed] with 1.0 zoom in racing, and 0.8 in punaball.

Since it was brought up, when I use keyboard (rare) I used W, A, D, B(brake), but then started using an Xbox360 controller.

How do most of the lap wankers play? One hand on the arrow keys?

Sure, or otherwise you could just figure out those settings by reading documentation.
