Well, i have almost such a fast connection, like you both have got.
But my speed is kind splitted here into 5 parts and it still is not constant, although i am neither downloading something in the background while playing TS ... nor having some big memory using applications in the background....except Windows XP ;)

But even there are only 2 players at 1 server, both with fast connections, i think i am not wrong to say, it is no really rare case in TS that lags occured - from beginning or first later in the cup.

You might see it good in PunaBall matches, perhaps.
Sometimes you start with less lags, then they are getting more...and later they are gone again etc.

I'm no network specialist, but lags during the cup, while there were no lags in the start can also happen in your example.

Maybe riQ even had downloads started in the background (not caused by him) or another reason...many reasons possible...

But Jazzy, surely your example is one which would speak for riQ's character. But next time, give us immediately a link to the replay of...in this case...race 4 and 6 and maybe 5, too.
Because: if someone had lags in a race, is sometimes visible (not always - proofed that after watching replay of me and others, which had lags).

It's not the bandwidth that alone makes the lags occur but there are also other things to consider. You are located in Italy and RiQ in Finland so there are lots of points between you where lag can occur.

The bandwidth can be 1MB, 2MB or 10MB but the main thing that is important is the ping time and the time which routers take to calculate the route. Turbosliders is heavily dependant of smooth connection and low ping times.

I often notice that even if the server is in Finland and with my 100MB connection (university network) it is sometimes impossible to play Turbosliders. With too many warps to forward or backward it just isn't possible to be competitive in races.
