Hello TS community,
i am having troubles to get TS to run on my Windows7 machine.
If i start the game there are graphical bugs, the menu is unreadable:
I tried to start the game with admin priviligies and under WinXP Compability etc, nothing worked, any suggestions how it mighty work?

Hi and welcome. TurboSliders isn't officially supported for Windows Vista, even though it works for nearly everybody. I don't know if anybody tried the game in Windows 7, so at the moment I don't have suggestions.
You could try making all the steps suggested for Vista, but I'm not sure if it would help at all. Update graphic drivers, SDL (?).
I'll ask around in order to help more in next days.

I have been using Windows 7 for about a month now, and TS runs without any problems whatsoever. I suppose you could try running the game in compatibility mode, and if that doesn't work, changing the display mode from OpenGL to something else (you can do so in sliders.ini if the menu is too unreadable) even though that might cause other problems while playing.

Thanks for the advice with sliders.ini,
i changed OpenGL Mode to DirectX and now the game ist running, not quite sure if its running as fast as on WinXP, but is running
Thanks for all your help.
btw: i did not change the SDL.dll and i am not using a compability mode, just for info.
edit: admin priviligies are still required

Probably because you are editing it while TS is running. When TS closes, it saves settings to sliders.ini again.

You either didn't explain it clearly or you didn't understand what I wrote.

And it never occurred to you that maybe you need to start TS once for it to be created?

I am struggling with this same problem in Windows 7.
I am able to play the game if I switch to SDL or DirectDraw but the game does not run as smoothly as it does with OpenGL (or at least did with previous installation of windows
From google you can find that Windows 7 seems to have issues with OpenGL. nVidia users might be interested in

Unfortunetally I have ATI so I might be stuck with this problem a while.

Have you turned off alpha blending? You must do this to get TS to work correctly with direct draw.

Yes, Alpha Blending is off.
The difference between (previous) OpenGL and DirectDraw is not big yet it its noticable.

I've been running TS on Windows 7 (64 bit) for 6 months without any problems at all. The settings are:
Driver: DirectDraw
Double Buffering: Yes
Alpha Blending: Yes
Lightmapping: Yes
Menu Effects: Yes
Smooth FPS: Yes
Used the same setup on Vista 32 bit

Thanks @Philippe, enabling Smooth FPS helped a lot.
Still waiting for working OpenGL drivers from ATI, though
