Post by y4nn1ck » Tue Jan 10, 2006 3:21 pm

Hello,

Just to let you know about the new release of my home made turbosliders statistics script (php, Mysql), based on the TurboSliders 1.6 logs possibilities

You can see it in action Here

You can read some details about it here on my boards

And get it on my Download page

Enjoy

That looks great! What language did you use to make it?

For some reason, the download does not seem to work for me, though. I get lots of data but it gets downloaded as down.php and if I rename it to zip, it can't be opened.

Would it actually be possible to develop that further so that one could use it to gather stats from several servers? Server script could send the stat files to some master server which would parse it and add to the master database.

Thanks

i work on the download section, i have a problem with it i hope this work in a few minutes

i use php/mysql, also for the script who analyse the log file, this one work like a shell script.

I start this version with the idea of multiples servers check, i put some first step in this way, but i would like to give the version with personnal stats, before because its mutliple servers ask more works and more times between the first beta release and this one.

i try for the next version !

Yes, of course I didn't mean that it is bad or incomplete, it just came into my mind that it would probably be possible to extend your system to an even bigger system :). And if you give rights for others to use and modify the code, it is something that others (including me) might do, too.

It is one problem, though, that if a server is in another machine, there has to be a way to send the stats files. One solution would be to have a web server whose php page is taking care of receiving a file that a sent by a game server script.

No problem  i understand your question about multi-servers, my answer is propably not write as well as i want lol.

Ho yes it's a very good idea that peoples can modify, i encourage this really, i'm sure that i don't think about some stats or features that it's possible to include so i'm really open in comments and idea and of course by some participations.

For the log part this is an other thing that i think about too
i have 2 ideas about this

One is that the php analyse script stay on the TS server and have a distant database connection. but in this way, people who host there own TS server at home, can't use the script because most (may be all) hosting company don't authorize database connection from outside if there network !

Or i think it's not so difficult to make a bash script who put a copy of the log file, on a distant FTP server for exemple, in this way maybe we can also archiving some stats by adding a date reference !

But in this 2 ways the live stats page (the first one who give the actual track) don't work, because this page read at each web connection the current log file.

so so... please welcome to udp request looool
