What is happening??
Hi all!!! I m in this comunity since 10 months....i know it is not too much but i m not feeling good things about TS!!!
I don t think that JJG consider us too much....maybe game price is too high but it is not to only and the most important problem!!!
Gam is surely very good: everyone can see that considering the huge amount of demo players that everyday play it and the "Full game comunity" that remain faith to the game......BUT.....JJG: u should do more...i m sure that some people wants the full game (also because it is silly play 3 hours a day only 3 tracks...and some drivers do that)
Maybe more advertisement (i know also that 99% of players DOESN T know that the can use other payment modalitydifferent from credit card)
Maybe a site (www.tscups.com had more than 100 players signed and gave players the possibilities of be informed on what happened on ts comunity......and also organising cups was easier)
In my part in last 2 months i organised 5 cups....i can do more
Moreover some players are quitting playing....it is not very good
I want to suggest that to JJG: CONSIDER THAT:
1 game is very good
2 a little money well spended could make u earn more money in the future
wazaari@hotmail.it is my msn and mail adress
I wait an answer from jjg and from other drivers on what they think about what i wrote
Best regards

This game deserves much more than it is geting. There are games thet you can buy is stores, usually like 1/5 the price of big games (PS2, XBOX). TS should be there. I am soon going to try to call into a TV show, and when i get on i will tell about TS, may not do much, but i want to try all i can. This is really a great great game, it deserves (and those who made it) to get much more.

Re: What is happening??
20$ if 1 buys it...maybe game price is too high
16$ if 3...
14$ if 10...
some people who like TS might not want to buy it, even it would cost only 5$ i can imagine, since they compare too much with other games...
people who love TS though and play much enough, might see that they can surely invest that money and 20$ sounds still like a fair zone for both parts (the seller and the buyer)
I am not sure if this would be still changeable now...JJG: u should do more...i m sure that some people wants the full game (also because it is silly play 3 hours a day only 3 tracks...and some drivers do that)
but i think, 3 tracks with many features is already nice for testing the game. If more tracks are wanted, then TS 0.86b is still a possibility - less special features, but more tracks etc. - an advertising, which might be not less times a better advertising for the new version (which has special features and the main support now and in future). I still support the old version and like to keep this...
99% sounds maybe a bit too much, but the payment question might be really a serious problem for many drivers, who like to buy a license, actually.Maybe more advertisement (i know also that 99% of players DOESN T know that the can use other payment modalitydifferent from credit card)
Activities and plans were made about recovering that site.Maybe a site (www.tscups.com had more than 100 players signed and gave players the possibilities of be informed on what happened on ts comunity......and also organising cups was easier)
JGG thought about some additional official site, but there is nothing real concret now (no date or anything).
xzeal tried it once to open a zone for players like tscups.com, then i tried (and still doing...more or less) it and even dede got the motivation. Perhaps i tell later more about some secret kept TS community page project, where xzeal and fasteddie might still wait for
Certainly this sounds kind nice, but you know my opinion to that and your teammembers TnT and SaniTar have given some comment in a kind equal form to one of your tournament forum topics...In my part in last 2 months i organised 5 cups....i can do more
Some kind of event like the old utt knockout tournament by xzeal has still kept so far one of my most liked events in Turbo Sliders.
Like xzeal said/meant once partly, the comments after the cup (and all around...) and its publication of statistics is making a tournament to one you never forget. Compared to today's tournaments, especially SIT's, the past old tournament had much more importance to me. Surely though, the importance of cups were influenced by the cup organisers...so consequently tournaments by xzeal and AntiSlider cups by Punatiainen and swos in old times had higher priority for me, while today's cups by you, wazaari, or by laggy servers (Mouse, brasilian servers...) are less important to me.
Well, it is usual that players quit playing games, when they need a pause or due to other reasons...but there might be certainly, like Flexman has not less times mentioned, a leak of players in the servers, which cause that actually active players are playing less and less. Moreover some players are quitting playing....it is not very good
This is clear to JGG, which you, as ippon-team member, should have seen lately already good, actually, not?I want to suggest that to JJG: CONSIDER THAT:

A friend of me has once suggested me to talk with some TV moderator, he has a good relationship to, to get myself in the most seen german PC-Games TV show as german represent of Turbo Sliders...
but that was in 2004, where the game was still in build and on the other hand i am one, who likes to be in TV. So i did not agree to make advertising for TS at that time...and i still would not, since the community and the game itself has not reached the right level yet, for my taste.
Hey boys
This is interesting topic.
I think that i'm one of the palyers who drive very much in playtrix-servers. My opinion is that playtrix-servers is the place where the comminity can enlarge. There are many players who just come on server and go away or drive couple of laps and leave. I can drive like 3cups a row or even more because i like it so much
Why some players bought this game if they dont play it... maybe too sarcastic
Different cups are good thing and they can be vary a lot so everyone have what they want. And for this we need site like tscups.com.
I dont see that price thing to be any bad thing. Its good price for good game. That's all. And that payment action was clear for me.
One of the good and maybe best thing is different tracks. There is never too much good tracks. But maybe too much bad tracks already
New ideas is always welcome and they can be even good sometimes
So everyone!

hi guys
as i can see the community will never brake down because enough people are intreseted in it, although it arent enough yet
but i often see people that i never met before so i think there is a continous buying of the game and ever more people comes
i think a problem is if people begin to shout at newbies cause they didnt drive that good in the beginning and at last these newbies dont try to play online anymore although they love the game
i have to say i think there should be a community again like tscups.com cause there nearly every player was involved and i knew everything about everything going on
probably there should be everything written down in this forum which is of interest to the people or there must be a page which is as popular as tscups and also the owner is accepted enough what would be guys like
Mike, jarno, some TL-members, Jazzy or Puna (only for example
)
lets think about that

i have a little idea for my website, a little section where the maker can post their tracks on my page "who have difficult to built some personal web space (juha for example)".
I need some script in php for:
1) registering members
2) limited zip-file size of the tracks or image preview
3) i no have idea for other thing now
So my page can be a place where amateurs "little list of tracks" or noobs "1-2 max 3 tracks" can share with the community their creations"it is attractive to show what it has created with passion".
I had too a proposal to do on this type of initiative, to open a small server where, for who (not like me or puna or jarno or other capable tracks makers) have the possibility to show their tracks on an important server like PTX.

that server for unknown track makers is a nice idea
would u do an automatic server which is up the whole day or only a "sometimes server" cause a ever running server would be the best thing
but although unknown track makers are publishing there there should be some group who decides which track come on it and so on (what could be probably be done in your track section then)

if someone give me an help to make this special section we can isnert too a vote system.
A rate like 1-10, who are upper of 5 can join on this server with his track
PS: who vote the tracks need think "unknow track? noob tracks? etc..." so a little of judgment
PSS: before to publish the tracks on the server, me and other one test it to check the affidability of the vote "someone can vote for himself" or to obviate this problem, to do a script that make voter an alone time

Publishing tracks
Publishing tracks is something, i am less doing than publishing track ideas/concepts or modification ideas - yesterday i had another 3-4 ideas which came to my track concept collection...but...
publishing means for me: since there are/will be many tracks out there, anyway...then it would be nice to avoid sharing buggy/uncompleted/bad tracks...
Some 1-2 months ago, i guess, i made a server open with many old buggy tracks, which i usually tried to avoid - so it happened also for only the maybe 2nd or 3rd serious time there...
However, what i am going to say is:
Before tracks are finding their way to be downloaded by every driver (= more tracks in database = longer record exchanging time etc. etc.), i would like to (let it) check in editor first. So, bad checklines can be fixed earlier and shortcuts can be avoided, if not made on purpose by the author due to maybe the track's type already...
On the other hand, i have to say, i started again working on my TS Community Page, but some little problems and questions are there, which might be terminated by some votes to find a better decision, how the site will finally look like.
So far it might be good the case, that it will be handled like the old tscups.com page, but without any intro and probably i have to request some designer...
However - this site has already a download section, including for example videocuts of funny racesituations...
But it is also there to share tile and terrain files and, if not too big, whole tracks or trackpackages by an author.
Though i am not sure yet about the handling -> smaller tile and terrain files might be maybe uploadable until a certain size for each community member. Though publishing tracks (in zip or rar packed, usually) have to be accepted by an administrator first...
In a download section "Tracks, Tiles & Terrains" \ "Tracks", everyone could maybe group his trackpack into few little ones...hmm...i just made some subcategories for that case...
Concerning the idea of a server with new tracks ->
not less times i thought about mapmaking tournaments and the concept of monthly competitions, where the 1st (or generally: the best ones) will be added as random track in a server.
The server would start with a set of >=20 tracks maybe, maybe voted by the community, and each month there are coming 1-x new tracks, the monthly winners -> where maybe not only each new track can take part - instead maybe even each ever made track...
In addition tracks in the server can maybe voted out of the tracklist (but later the track could be even revoted in...).
Certainly the system, you mentioned, Jazzy...with vote rating etc., might support this idea and/or equal concepts...
Some rules though, like "checklines must be good enough..." and "the track must be a racingtrack -> no PB-Arena or some other mod.-track" would depend on the concept, what the server(admins) want to have.

we mean for unknow or poor makers, not for the best tracks list on ptx server, like GP2 premiat "right?" he wanna see his track on ptx server but for the poor quality of the track he never see the track on ptx.
So we need to built a system for this type of tracks, because if someone like premiat built a track and no one run on it, new makers stopping his creativity to make new tracks and not take experience on track making.

Yes, sorry i did not say it precise...but i actually knew you meant to have a server, where new trackmakers can publish their tracks.
I just want to make sure, that at least not tracks are downloadable, which have got unwanted bugs (accidently invisible walls, shortcuts due to less chechklines, too short checklines -> laps are going to be missed....).

Re: What is happening??
Me neither... Player amounts are stagnating. Tracks are getting more boring and far too big. You cannot play with more players on one computer anymore. So, 0.86 was still more fun (especially because of more players).Wazaari wrote:Hi all!!! I m in this comunity since 10 months....i know it is not too much but i m not feeling good things about TS!!!
I don' think that it mathers if it costs 15 or 5 Euros, people often are just too lazy to pay. I bet it they could pay via phone call or SMS then much more would buy this game. But i already talked with Ande about that and it seems that these services are very expensive.Wazaari wrote:I don t think that JJG consider us too much....maybe game price is too high but it is not to only and the most important problem!!!

And there are nice stats and stuff on http://turbosliders.mine.nu/JimMiE22o2 wrote:Well, I like this dedicated server " the dude..." It has some script to vote for cars. Has points and previous winner next cup. check it out.
A server for new tracks is an excellent idea.
I think a more centralised community - an official TS community page - with lots of features could help attract more players. Mostly for people with full version game, but a small section for demo players would make noobs feel welcome.
Track publishing and voting section would be great. A cup and tournament section of course. Lots of stats is never wrong.
A personal page - where you could show off lap records, cup and tournament trophys (small images, like web-site awards), tracks and cars you've designed, stuff like that.
I think the track editor should be highlighted a bit more in the marketing of TS, like some screenshots of good looking tracks by players. Also one of the actual editor. And I wouldn't mind if some features were added to the editor to make it a bit more user friendly, some I've suggested before.
And there are nice stats and stuff on http://turbosliders.mine.nu/
This kind of server homepage i hope to have for every server, if possible, and mainly: for the official servers. The php-scripts, which are needed though, for automatic updating of statistics etc., only php-programer can create...which i am not and neither Ande so far.
With PHP and MySQL serverstatistics have got a nice future...
Well, for an official page i would hope that kind of demo player section too...I think a more centralised community - an official TS community page - with lots of features could help attract more players. Mostly for people with full version game, but a small section for demo players would make noobs feel welcome.
On my page though, there won't be, except in the forum, not really visible, who has got the full version and who not...
If i remember correct, downloads can just be ranked, a plugin to see the top rated downloads, maybe for only 1 special category (tracks or even tracktype) i have not seen yet, but maybe i find one...Track publishing and voting section would be great. A cup and tournament section of course. Lots of stats is never wrong. Smile
Tournament section is a question of design handling - except the use of forum and the event calender and news with newscategory tournament...there might be a page with manual collecting past tournaments...if there is no automatic solution possible.
So far i could "only" manage to add the possibility for some additional personal profile properties, which are mostly belonging Turbo Sliders questions. Unfortunately the properties are limited in some graphical user interface...A personal page - where you could show off lap records, cup and tournament trophys (small images, like web-site awards), tracks and cars you've designed, stuff like that.
A personal page for each member would be of course much better.
Like: default tracks records with each car, which are uploadable by the member and in his profile you would see some community-driver-ranking, for example. Some tournament section in each driver profile would be nice, maybe just a link to the tournament infos and a short "x th place at..." before. And surely awards in small icons, like a golden funny looking camera for the "best tsr file videocut of a funny racescene..." or a little trackimage for the "best trackmaker..." could find their place there.
Tracks and cars could be maybe even automatically linked, in the case the member uploaded these files automatically. Theoreticly this should be soluteable in an automatic way, like:
"Uploaded Files by this member:" in each profile, showing uploaded files in each section (inclusive tracks and cars) and you would see how his files are ranked.
I had some time ago some ideas about TS community page for downloading, uploading and rating tracks but then I became too busy for that kind of commitment.
Lzan had made some nice statistics of game results from the server and that thedude thing looks also nice. The problem of these kinds of things are that the community is too shattered, everyone are doing their own things and team pages and forums are popping like mushrooms after the rain.
In this thread there are many excellent ideas pointed out but still I would like to see some action to make it happen. Gathering people to build and to keep the community page going after the initial builders become too busy or just quit.
This is just a game and I hope that atleast some of us has something else in their lifes than Turbo Sliders.
