Windows 8 anyone?

Post by Whiplash » Mon Oct 20, 2014 8:11 pm

Does anyone uses Windows 8 of you guys? How does the game work on it?
If you have a PC with that OS installed, please try out TS on it and give us a response.

O.K., I'm glad to hear that. Let's hope Rendy is the only one who's experiencing problems with it.

Using OpenGL or not (either SDL or DirectDraw)? That prob must be my dual boot if he uses the former...

I doesn't matter that much now, because Rendy have the same problem on v2.0.0 too.

Hmm... I guess I'm the only one here, but that probably is because I use dualboot (Win7 and Win8)... :(

I don't know if I'm right about this, but I heard that using a dualboot of two Windows OSes is unstable, at least that's what the computer shop technician where I am a regular customer of said to me.

Tested the new version. I have only Windows 8.1 now, and the first time I play it, it went smooth until the second time running where the cringeworthy flickers come at select screens, be it Player, Cars or Tracks. I guess it's the OpenGL Problem... :\

It's something about your GPU for sure. I think that new version is actually coded on Windows 8 system (Ande's PC). What GPU do you have?

Can you also make a screenshot of flickered screen, so I could report the problem for the new potential new versions?
For now, I can only suggest you to use SDL driver. You can change it in video settings menu. It will probably be not that smooth as OpenGl, but you'll probably not experience described problem using it.

Hi again,

I already found a solution to my problem. my screen resolution was just too big (1920*1080) :)

Anyway, I think there is an option inside of game menu/video settings - I think it's named "Enlarge to fit". Maybe that's the one that fixes such a problem.
