Now laptimes are a bit more "random" thanks to more accurate game engine.Obi Wan Kewelu wrote:More accurate lap times?![]()

Yeah, I had that feeling as well (not that I wanked Arena-AntiSlider, but during missilesraces I got some perfect laps and I never got close to 6xx with "normal-speed".Tijny wrote:Now on a more serious note, I see your point. When driving alone, you need a near-perfect lap to even get under 12.750.

I recently bought a new Geforce 9800gtx+ gfx card and hoped that TS 2.0 would work with it. It didn't. The corrupted are on the upper side of screen is gone, yes, but the lower row of player names are still out of the screen. SDL and DirectDraw are unplayable. And the major thing is that skidmarks aren't showing which makes the game very hard. It is almost impossible to race with speeder for example because there is no information on the track when to brake etc.
I've got the latest drivers installed.
e: got the skids working again by turning extension limit off on the drivers. Other problems remain.

Burning curtains since 2004
This is VERY strange.
I have TS on my Windows XP laptop and my dad's older Windows 2000 computer. Both computers can run the game without problems, but this is the strange thing:
On my laptop (which is faster than the other computer) OpenGL works very well, but DirectDraw (and SDL too I would say) is very, very slow, even with Alpha Bending turned off. Amazingly, on the older computer, DirectDraw is pretty much as fast as OpenGL is on my laptop. However, now on this computer OpenGL is the slow one.
How could this be?
The real problem with this, though, is that OpenGL can't display skids, yet DirectDraw can.
Is there any way to get skids working with OpenGL? I don't understand what Chevron is saying.

I think I updated my video card drivers last year, so I don't think they're old. The video card itself... I don't know. Is there some way to view the video card's info?Scud wrote:How old is your card? Model? When did you update drivers last time?Darx wrote:I don't know what to do about my video card or its drivers. What can I do to fix this?
My laptop's technology isn't exactly the best around, I would say. There are some games that run slowly, and other computers I've tried the games on can run them fine. But TS is only 2D, so you shouldn't need such a recent video card, would you?
Ande, congratulations on this game.
And thank you very much for this full-demo version!
Sugestion: can it be implemented in the servers a /kick command for licensed players only in order to make it possible licensed players to kick some "assho*e" by majority? For example: 10 racers, 5 licensed, 5 "demos", and one of the demos starts running backwards. 3 of the licensed use the /kick command and... bye bye, dumbster!
Think about it. It's a good way to give the licensed guys some control and "status" over the others.

Giving such a control for "majority" is not recommendable. Three idiots buy license and what does happen then?Strik3r wrote:Ande, congratulations on this game.

One of main ideas in 2.0 was to remove gap between demo and full, so I doubt we want to start creating it again.
