Hi, firstly, let me say that this game is so near perfection it's untrue...I've not been off it now for 3 days. I bet I get dumped.

Ok, here's my humble suggestion....I don't know how hard it would be to program this but I think it could ahve a few interesting results if it's at all possible...how about, aswell as recording your fastest time it also records your actualy race, through key imputs so you can race against your 'ghost' so to speak....and here's the idea, say you have the 20 slots full of your fastest times, all racing at the same time (no collision, obviously) you could, in theory then exchange fastest performance files with friends, upload them to a site for other's to download and not only that, it would give extra dimension for those addicts who play offline on a laptop at their girlfriend's (not me of course)
I for one would love the idea of downloadin the fastest guy EVER to race a map, along with 18 of the next fastest just to see how I measure up!

I suppose you'll have to make 2 calsses of record, classic cars (that came with the game, these will be the pure results naturally) and custom cars so the guys racing their F1's can race each otehr's fastest 'ghost'

I dunno, what do people think of this? Is it a good idea or one born out of a need to play this game on a laptop around at my g.f's house...offline....

I think all programmers are operating on a different level, i mean, anyone who can understand the language of a machine? They're like the Borg. You watch, someday they'll take over the world. You think I'm crazy? 2 words: Bill Gates. Resistance is futile.

As for the ghost racers, I was thinking about it last night, quite a lot actually, and it was actually an old Idea I had for a racing game that i wanted to make with my friend (he's the programmer, sleeps in a cube, tries to assimilate strangers) but he didn't know how to program it to play over a network so i came up with the idea of multiple ghost players, no collision detection, and it would've worked too.

I dunno, what do the programmers think? Maybe right now they're saying, 'hey! this Shitnipple dude: stupid name, great idea! This could work! We could even have a webpage set up for new tracks, new cars and new ghosts for people to race, hey! We could even race offline on our laptops....around at our girlfriends houses!!'

Some people may yet call me a genius.

Actually, next version will have recording possibility. You can record races and share them with anyone. But unfortunately, you can't yet race against those recordings. It was close that I would have started to implement that, too, but it proved to be a bit too big a work for now. But it may get implemented in the future. Let's just see how those basic recordings work first when the next version comes.

This feature has been requested a lot so it may be there one day but not very soon I'm afraid. One problem is that all existing tracks would have to be remade or then pit stops would only work on new tracks.

Ok, thanks for replying...I knew it was a good idea, hehe...i also knew it was a long shot that it could be made, I'd like to think that someday it could be implemented...

I can't wait for the record function, lets hope that works well...because lets face it, yo can have some truly stunning races and when the bumping starts and the grudges kick up then you have a great little race on your hands...it's one thing telling your friends about it but it's something else for them to watch it and have a laugh.

Is there a common website where everyone posts their models and tracks or does it all come through the forum? I plan to make quite a bit of new content for the game and would like to know if there's a better place to showcase it than my own website that I am making...

Dear Lord Shitnipple,
There isn't any common website. That's very sad. But there are lots of individual and team pages for turbosliders, some are good and some... hmmmm.

There are some links to turbosliders-pages in the jollygood -links section and following the forum and other ts-pages you can collect them all. It could be nice to have some turbosliders archive, but there are so many tracks and models that shouldn't really be in the net for downloading (not saying any names).

You can look for Mike Nike's page: http://www.mikenike.com. There are some historic information about other ts-pages and some outdated links.

Thanks Hengari, I'll check it out. I have seen some dodgy track layout but I have also seen some very high quality ones. Maybe if there was a common archive site then it wouldn't be hard to implement a voting system aswell as a track review section too so people could download and rate them? I have in mind the system that is used on the winamp site, where people download the skins for winamp then give an honest review...that could work.

I would love to contribute in some way to the community, I am pretty good with graphics so I feel I should make you guys some new cars etc. I had a crazy idea for a mod that I believe could work...I am gonna go check out some of the Slider's graphic and sound files to see if it's feasable....all will be revealed....

I have made a simple voting system for my own tracks, based on text-files. For large scale track-review and voting system it would need database-capable webspace (mySQL, postgre) for storing all information. Also for easy functional people should be able to upload their tracks. Basicly it is easy to do but requires some time to implement all features and lots of administration to keep it going.

Ah, I had an idea it would be tricky....:) I am sure with a littel help i could get something resembling a decent voting system up and running.

It's looking good for a couple of my mod ideas being made, more news on them very soon.
