lag

Post by Guest » Sun May 15, 2005 9:18 pm

Hello

I have a problem with lag:
Most of the time everything is cool
but almost every day around 10 pm
there are all servers with ping
higher than 200 (all are red)
and 15 minutes later everything is cool
(15 servers with "normal"(yellow) ping - other red)

Why is that?
Does anyone have similar problems?
How to fix this?

Most probably, this is a problem with your network connection. If you have a shared connection, it could be that other users download things at the same time. It could also be that some programs (like virus scanners or windows update) happen to upgrade themselves at that time. It may also be something ISP specific so asking their helpdesk might help. Theoretically, it could also be a virus or another malware program...

Oh, 200 ping. The luxury of it all. We are so hard done by. When I was young, I had to suck on an exposed telephone cord for any networking and decode it mentally. The youth of today are so spoilt with <200 pings.

I don't think I've *ever* had under 300, and on many servers it is over 400. Guess that's the problem with living in Australia...
