Overall ranking idea (again)

What do you think about this idea:
Admins could make new overall ranking. It could be just like old one is, but with some new cars that most players like (for example TSE-F1beta).
Of course, we would make new various tracks (photoshoped too) and choose the best 10-15 of them. In my opinion, it's really bad not to have such a ranking. The old one is very good for me too, but other players don't play it for more reasons. They all tough that it's just part of DIT cup that is finished long time ago. I think this is big mistake too; ranking system should be shown with firs click on it. This is what i want to say: when you click on 'ranking', it should immediately show this page http://www.turbosliders.com/show_points ... roup=TSCOM , not this one http://www.turbosliders.com/ranking.php
I needed few days and get to idea to click on 'all points' and see the whole list.

Good place for ranking could be homepage too.
To do it faster, we could use some great Jarno's old school tracks, and some gpor tracks with it. Ranking system based like that could stay there forever and call players to fight for best place. I guess, sanding videos is the best way to have fair battle for TS players all around the world.

Sorry if I'm annoying with ranking suggestions; I guess there was over 10 my attempts before. But It just needs to be done.

The current ranking has been online for some time and it didn't work. Different cars and tracks would probably work better, but I don't think that a wank-ranking is what we need right now. The current racing ranking provided by GPOR works better, for now. When, and if, we will make a new website, a better ranking will be provided.

Whiplash has a point though on the fact that what page should be shown when "Ranking" is clicked. Even with current cars and tracks in the ranking, the points should be the first one visible. That shouldn't be too hard to change?

Anway, lap wanking should not to be killed too. We all will admit that only wanking shows clear picture of our speed. And, what is more important, it's the most fair. Ranking should show player's abilities, not activity. What I mean to say is: The "old fashion" ranking can be still in use. So, I changed my mind a little bit there, I know that increasing on-line playing is important objective too, but overall ranking should not to be part of it, because it could send wrong message to players. Racing and skill could be in the second plan, and online activity (in other meaning - money) in first one.
Tijny, for example, is never part of gpor ranking, but we all know where is his place there. I can understand him; he can't find the reason to prove his skill in all competitions all again and again. One race is good enough.
So, good solution will be if old ranking exists in the same time with some new ranking system that will come in the future.

We have to differenciate between racing ranking and records. What we have now is just a points system based on records, but we don't have any racing ranking. Obviously I don't want to completely erase the records and wanking ranking, but it's just different from racing.

Changing things in the current website doesn't make much sense (the ranking isn't used anyway), except if we decide to change tracks and cars.
