OT(ish): forums hacked.

Post by captainpotato » Mon Jun 06, 2005 1:16 pm

As there isn't a general discussion forum in English, I'm posting here, as this has the most readers.

Am I the only one who has noticed the new 'message' in the main forum index?

"Owned by www.g00ns.com You have just been owned by MurderSkill666 from www.g00ns.com Post how you feel about this at www.g00ns-forum.com XD"

Might like to revise the forum's security policies before it gets deleted completely...

This isn't the only forum that has that same message. There are lot of info of g00ns and their phpBB attacks in the google.

I don't usually read the main forum, just this Turbo Sliders -section. But nice that someone noticed that g00ns -crap.

Strange thing happened to me

When i was loging in the message something like
"The username doesn't match the email"
was displayed and so i tried a few stuff to so whats wrong
and then i went to memberlist and i was no longer there
So i registered again and now its cool

(now my email is no longer shown,
i think someone used my email to login or something
because email is reguested if you forgotten your password;
I should have 2 mails)

Strange...

Yeah, this is really unfortunate. Yet another reason to *not* use phpBB, it seems to be full of exploits. I removed the n00bs topic, but I will need to do some reading to see what needs to be done to prevent it and if something else was planted. I'll keep the forums open for now but will take it offline if it seems to be necessary while fixing...
