Race Highlights Auto Videocutter: (main project)

Status: work in very early shoes. Nothing i want to show, yet.



*this happens when trying to code superfast just to post some videos before the next race, but it's better than nothing, i hope

Attach some music to the videos (you can do it without reuploading, YouTube has that option). And, please, make the video with non-ghost cars in duel, where drafting is in use etc. You can find such battles in champ tsr videos.

Music instead of or additional to the car sounds:
Not yet, on purpose! Although i have at least one folder full of bookmarks collected in the past, just for the purpose of creating certain types of Turbo Sliders presentation videos. So, it was tough to not include music!
The reason is: it was hard enough to get the 3d sound, pitch and volume working "okay"-ish together. I kinda wanted feedback. But you did not say "the car sound is weird" - that's positive, i assume.

Damn, that looks really cool. Silva was very fast in the beginning of the lap, until you destroyed him with your phenomenal exit speed out of turn 8. And yeah, the engine sounds are perfectly fine, I would almost think that you recorded the sounds from TS and edited them into the videos.

Oh, I didn't even hear the sound at first while watching the video on my phone. But now I hear it on PC - but only when the volume is on max. So, make it louder in future.

So I guess it's possible to change the car's colors on the 3D model based on the player's colors then? Also, would it be possible to assign different 3D models for different players as well?

Yes, it is. The tool automaticly reads in the colortype and the 3 colors.
But in order to create the stripes just like in TurboSliders, it still needs some time.

Yes, i got plenty low poly versions of the current car model, but the selective coloring is not possible there, yet.
A low poly car creator is on my todo list.
I actually made a skin test for the current model, but texturing/brushing the submeshes resulted into a kind of salad.
So, a bit of work is necessary to make custom skins with fancy things such as player & team logos etc.

I hope it runs smooth and I'm expecting YouTube videos.

Smoothness perfection is not reached yet, but i'm working on getting close..

Todays code challenge was: a low polygon car creator.

The last development step:
- entities can have 27 custom colors or the 1-3 from players.dat (displayed as red/white/green in the tool, dedestyle)

So seeing the fifth video on the list, I presume that we can define 3D models for each tile, yes? And will viscosity effects, skidmarks, and tyremarks be reflected in the replayer as well?

Smoke should be doable.
Skidmarks tricky, but yeah. All a question of drop in the framerate.

Not really.
Whip/Silva/Rendy - these are probably the first ones, I will talk with, when getting more seriously into it again.
When?
Very likely not earlier than 1.12., likely not before next year.
