What's this cup about?
This cup is dedicated to newcomers and average players, to give them the possibility to train with default cars and race for the victory!

How to join
All players are allowed to join except the ones in the "Black List". Just connect to the server before the cup starts.

Black List
Since this cup is dedicated to newcomers and average players, some fast players aren't allowed to join. If a banned player joins with a fake nick, he will be banned from other competitions (such as IHLC, IRT, TRC, and any other competition I'll organize) as well.
These players aren't allowed to join:
- Tijny
- dede

Cup Details
Schedule: Sunday 30 November @ 18:00 CET (17:00 Portugal/GMT/England, 18:00 Germany/Italy.., 19:00 Finland..) (time zone converter)
Server: Community Server [BEL] (connect)
Ghost: On
Tracks: 10 racing tracks
Laps per track: 6
Cars: default cars (EasySlider, Slider, Speeder, Spinner, AntiSlider), each car is driven twice in the cup
Points per race: 20 19 18 17 16 15 14 13 12 11 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 (no points for fastest lap)

Such short black list doesn't quite serve the purpose (while I nearly understand why it's so short though), but I hope there will be some real newbies.

Blacklist misses some names...Where is Etana, Janne, olio etc. For me all those names are top-players or atleast they are not average players. I find that somehow cocky to put only dede & tijny in blacklist

This is weird in a sense, instead of wanting to join, people are trying to keep as far away as possible from this cup

I kind of understand the Black List (maybe because dede explained it to me, lol). But, for some other player, they would add Scud to the top player list. And then some player would add the one who add you, and so on it would go forever.

I guess the point in this is, that atm if Tijny or dede is in a racing cup, they are the only persons able to fight for the victory. Now there are much more drivers able to fight. Janne is in a bit difficult place there, because he is alone at 3rd place, so in this cup it would be quite a surewin for him. But, maybe that would add him into next Black List, and the challenge would change in the Cup #2.

Well, if you think it that way then I understand why they are only top-players. But my opinion is still that Janne, etana, olio...are top-players too. Because I think i am average good and i have no change to compete with any of those guys

As I explained in the other topic, it might be a bit hard to decide who is allowed and who isn't, and at the moment having a cup with newbies only would end up in a 2-players cup.
There comes the idea of opening the cup to average players too, but this might be a bit hard and unfair. For the first cup, the blacklist is limited only to those who won racing cups lately (last 3-6 months). Janne is quite in an inappropriate position there, because he has the same (or more) speed than me and Tijny, but he couldn't win nearly anything in racing tournaments. Since he battled with people like Etana/olio/Peto!/MaunoKasa etc, excluding Janne too sounded a bit unfair to me. Drawing a line there is very hard, since all these players didn't really have constant results in their career, so they can either dominate or being beaten. The next cup, if all goes well, will have some more players excluded.
Excluding all players worse than Etmil (as he suggested) wouldn't be a very good idea for the "2-players cup"-reason I explained before. But he can proove that I'm wrong by winning sunday's cup.

Anyway, the cup is supposed also to work as a training for all those players who can't battle for the podium in normal racing tournaments. Tighter cup is the way to have more fun, and hopefully to have some new real top player

I think anyone who has got a single podium in a single race of IRT or IHLC isn't an average player. I think there also is a good number of those players who hasn't.

Maybe, but this is the first cup and I want to draw a better line. And for the next cup it'll be better.

Haven't you got something wrong here? If anything, I meant that all players who are BETTER than me should be excluded. I consider myself average, because whenever Janne/dede/Tijny/etana and other known names are in the server, I'll almost never be able to fight for the podium. When there are random drivers and people who have little experience in TS or average players, I can surely finish 1st-2nd. So I'm kind of in between the top and average, I believe. All known names out (of this cup), all drivers that you don't see very often - in.

Well, the main idea was to organize a cup for newbies only, to train them with default cars. Since I didn't really get full server at IRT, I'd like to have 20 players server at this cup. Banning all players better than Etmil would mean excluding about 20 players. If all goes well, in next cup janne&co will be banned.

I also thought about the possibility to ban best players if more than 20 players show up, but that wouldn't be any fair towards those players. So connect as soon as you can to have a spot reserved.

I don't know am I better than Etmil with default cars, but I don't feel myself so newbie as well. Maybe it should be for newbies who has made it's TS debut in a few months and has not experience of many previous cups.

I agree with Keppana. Banning dede & Tijny wont make that cup any easier to new players. It may give some boost to TS-addiction for new players if they have official cup where they really have change to compete. Maybe you should add all average players in blacklist too?

Seems like that some players didn't read/understand what I explained. At the moment, I can't be sure that 20 equally-skilled players will effectively join the cup. I almost can't even get full server at IRT.
For this reason, this event will start with a small blacklist that will increase in the future (basing on some factors).
If you guys assure I'll get 20 newbies staying&playing for the whole cup, then no problems for me banning everyone else. But as long as I won't have 20 newbies, some average players would be allowed to join (I still think that racing for the victory is more fun than racing for 4th place).

And one more time I have to say: by "average players" I mean those who aren't part of the blacklist {yet} and that can't be categorized as newbies. Not being part of the blacklist doesn't mean that a player is necessarily a noob; it only means that the level of the cup is (in my opinion) appropriate for him.

So, after these considerations, it's clear that this first cup is supposed to be the hardest of the whole tournament, because people like Janne, Etana, Peto!, olio, Matti, MaunoKasa (..) are allowed to join. Basing on cup results and number of players, some of the top players will be blacklisted for next cup. This way, cup after cup everybody will have the chance to battle for the victory and increase his speed.

However, I don't really care if some of the non-blacklisted players don't want to join. That won't change the way it works: Janne&co will most probably added in the blacklist for next race, even if they don't join.

Competition was good, even though olio, matti, Janne, Kova (....) would've added more battle for the victory and maybe even a tighter result.
About 5 newbies showed up during the cup, but only iceman lasted the whole cup. People quitting the cup (Chevron, noob@puna.com..) wasn't that good (they were battling for first 7 positions).
Unluckily the F1 server is liked more than default cars racing, so I couldn't steal any player from there. It would be nice to stop that server during cups (or at least, during THIS kind of cup) to have more chances to have newbies joining).
I'm a bit worried about the fact no newbies play default cars.

Next cup will be quite much like this one, with some more players in the blacklist.

Hmmm, I feel that this won't be a problem for too much longer. Most regular players are playing there a lot at the moment because of the GPOR-Season. Once this finishes in about a week then the regular players will probably stop playing there as much as there's nothing to gain. Therefore, if the regular players aren't going there as much then neither will the newbies. People usually go where there are lots of players so maybe once the season has finished and less players are using that server, less newbies will be attracted to it

Im bit worried too about that default car racing is quite dead. Maybe somekind of 24/7 server with default cars & stats would help(like GPOR-F1 Season)? Something like that would make new players wanna learn to race with default cars... When i started to race with default cars, i didnt like it at all. It was only TSB-F2/GPOR-Form1 for me at the beginning. But after some practise with these def-cars i started to like racing with those...So all you noobs there (me included) start playing with default cars, it will be fun when you learn it. And all the best cups are raced with these cars...believe me!

PS. Credits for iceman...for staying whole cup.

Well, that's something I asked stummi when he opened this season. Same kind of statistics with default cars could make it. But I'm not quite sure it will be popular like F1. I'll try to convince him to give it a try after this season

It would be great, if there was a default car server with such awesome stats as there was/is in TheDude's server.
