Awe-SOME track... man i just loved it.
I finished LESS then 1 second from podium. What a race! What can i say! I fought Tijny for like 6 laps....during lap 20+ I started from 6th position where i often qualify 10+. What a race. What a race. It had it all! Then in final lap i almoust took badeend! TKS really gave me a nice car for this race it had a nice balance in the rain. Unfortunatnly Shy had to retire with technical problems. But man... finishing with the leaders still a bit in sight is really quite amazing
Also Lexx was very fast (and badeend and tijny ofc.) this shows dutch drivers are truly rain kings :p
Oh yeah and I really liked the track. MORE rain races

Yeah well.. whatever. Worst result, I think, in this league so far. Top10 but felt I could've done a LOT more. Starting from 4th everything went smoothly until MY FRICKIN step-DAD decided to start browsing the net.. lost the race to lanz right there and had a couple of more enormous lag-attacks, so yeah.. tried my best to avoid lapping cars so apologies right there to all of you guys. I don't know how much I could've improved though, had it been lagless, the laptimes were quite inconsistent and it was difficult to keep the car up to speed at all times. Would've still liked to at least have had a CHANCE to fight for positions 6.-8. All in all, quite disappointing race.
PS. Track rocked, especially the last part of it, the fast S-turns and everything. Well done, honestly!

I can't say that was a bad race because my last one was the worst race I've ever had on this league. This was mediocre at best. 11st. 5 points. Okay.
Reirom was so slow on practices. Such a pain in the ass. I couldn't find the right pace on the wet track and the fact he was slow with less fuel and blocking didn't help much.
Qualy was a disaster. I don't think I had a decent lap and in my last one I got lag and went out of the road. The was probably going to be my best. Life sucks. I should have tried full tank or something, since it's not about being fast but constant.
Race: too many people touching your car and making you go to the side of the road. I just don't like that. That was probably the best track, but under this conditions I would name it the worst. Rain just plain sucks. I think the gap between the pros and the noobs gets way too big with rain. I think there was a little bug that Mike talked about. The chicane was like sand on the last curve I think. That was a bit annoying.
Also I had SO much lag. I thought I got into the pit and then I appear near trees or something. WTF. I could have ruined someone's race like that. Thank god that didn't happen.
Reirom deserves a ban simply because he can't drive under any conditions. He's too bad that is almost morally wrong.
No complaints about players or anything. Strangely enough everybody seemed to behave well.

I got my favorite combination of lags, warps, disconnections and a little piece of reirim for dessert. It's sad that many of players still don't know what's fairplay means. Also, I was confused by some of them who drives too fair - (it was lux I think).
Anyway, I liked that track, especially those two slow curves (first one and that one on Pingu's image).

It's racing, so expect touches lol. We are not playing hockey or something
There was no bug, all the chicanes are slower in rain races... also on Eisenstadt. It gave an extra dynamic to try and touch the kerbs less. In real life rain and chicanes / kerbs is even more dangerous.
Reirom atleast tried to stop lol, I bumped him both times lapping him but yeah he tried
I still think this race was quite amazing, lot's more action

First of all, sorry for the wrong track I uploaded to turbosliders.com for Hevonen & Janne. For next races I will upload the track to tracksdb before the event.
Practice 1&2
I skipped first practice session because of that problem, but it sounds fair since I drove more than 5 laps in local in order to calculate correct race lenght. In second practice I tried to find a safe line and drive a quick lap. Both things seemed to work.
Qualify
After the warmup I thought that going for one pit would've been bad because of high fuel. For that reason I set my startfuel for about 50% (in order to go for two pits in the race), but after reading Tijny's comments about this tactic, I changed my mind and set 62% startfuel. My second lap seemed to be rather good, so I stopped with 57%. Quite bad decision, since I'm not really able to make calculations during the race. Additionally, I qualified sixth. Quite bad, considering that Mike Nike was ahead with exactly the same amount as me.
I prepared a calculator on my desk for the pitstop.
Race
My start was good: I gained one position at first lap and one at second lap. It was probably the first race in the traffic, and this conditioned my speed quite a lot in the first part. My championship lead allowed me to play fair and without pressure, but the result was that I kept battling with cars in front and behind me for more than 10 laps. Everything ended when Janne, who was second, gave way because of a mistake/lag and Tijny lost the rear of my car for few tenths. Badeend was very far away (6s lead), so I had completely clear track. Bye bye group!
The first stint's second part was simply perfect, with several good laps in a row and without noticeable mistakes.
My pitstop came way after the half of the race, so I took away my hands from the keyboard and I started to calculate the amount of fuel. After few seconds I noticed this wasn't going to work, so I looked at the screen and fuel was 50% already: "F*** LET'S GO!". Horrible mistake, good that nobody was close to me in the last part.
The second stint went alright: I checked Janne's position lap after lap and I focused on not to make big mistakes.
Finished with 15% too much fuel, but still with a safe margin on Janne.
Comments
Just like in real F1 this morning, rain made things way more interesting from my point of view. Many players managed to get unbelievable starting grid spots, thanks to good driving and low fuel. The first part of the race was very enjoyable for me.
Track was brilliant: very fast curves, two slow hairpins and two tricky chicanes.
I will make the rain dance for next races

About lightmap, I didn't really test it. My bad.shyguy1001 wrote:One criticism of the track visuals.. perhaps a highly dark lightmap and perhaps even terrain etc. would of made it appear more.. "rainy" and cloudly?
Terrain was originally darker, but I thought that we could've had problems with very dark cars.
guys i think 40 laps racing am f*** too much..
i think 20 laps is the good way
stop the pit
lets all run with no fuel.
40 laps hurt very hard my fingers hand..
the track was good i got some good laps where i can see the best laps of the race?
i could do much much better see my first lap i am f*** near dede and janne
and was 14...
congrats dede
for what i see dede is the most complete player in sliders..
he runs all cars with same quality...
i only like f1 cars and tsb fb 2 car..

Hello,
when the race started I still was calculating the fuel and I didn't set my startfuel.
Yes... I'm a moron because I could set the fuel before and then calculate whatever I wanted.
I knew I was out before the start and I didn't know what I had to do.
First I thought to let all pass. In this way, qualify did not count and I was "regular". But there are no rules about "how to recover a wrong startfuel", I was out anyway.
I thought to stop, but I love so much sliding cars (or sliding tracks
) that I decided to race anyway but I tried to have no contact with regular players.
I know now that with my behavior I created some confusion in whiplash
. I didn't notice that, I noticed some doubt in misterpom and ziossi. Sorry for that.
For next races (or cups), I think it's better to modify the rule in order to let people that know the fuel mistake before the start to save the race simply starting slow, without blocking other players and turn first corner in last position. In this way, qualify will be meaningless.
If more than one player has to do this... they will hardly battle for being the last
.
Same behaviour could be allowed for people that voluntarily load more fuel after bad qualify?
Beyond that, I loved rainy race and I'm happy to know other people liked it.
It's not important if the slide comes from the car or from the track... sliding races are more interesting than high grip ones.

Yeah, this sounds fair for next races. Rule acceptedlux2 wrote:For next races (or cups), I think it's better to modify the rule in order to let people that know the fuel mistake before the start to save the race simply starting slow, without blocking other players and turn first corner in last position.
Yeah rain race was so immense better... better fights it had everything. Reall battling on the track it was now. Also pressuring the cars in front of you feals more real since they make more mistake lol. And also those very slow corners are so FREAKING awesome. I coudn't get enough of the first corner in the track

Surely more simple would be a drive through penalty on the first lap, or perhaps even a stop and go? (Would have to create a seperate space on the pitlane for this..)dede wrote:Yeah, this sounds fair for next races. Both things could create problems and eventually some advantages. Giving way to all players who started the race sounds fair and simple. Obviously the player must put his car outside the track OR in a safe position before slowing down.shyguy1001 wrote:Surely more simple would be a drive through penalty on the first lap, or perhaps even a stop and go? yeah i totally agree!!! it was so sick, almost driving backwards!!!Pingu wrote: And also those very slow corners are so FREAKING awesome. I coudn't get enough of the first corner in the track![]()
a very good track! from the race on i felt very good on the track almost unbelievable i tried not to push so hard to avoid big mistakes but anyway i was always on the limit to keep the car on track!
looking forward to the next rain race!
I'd like to suggest everyone to watch the replay of the last race, focusing on REIROM.
He blocked so many people that I lost the count. He did the most harm to the Sleepy players, Peto and especially Ziossi. What he did to Ziossi was a crime. If there was a Sliders equivalent to death penalty, he would definitely get it.
He blocked even Tijny and Badeend, fast players he can't claim not knowing about, so he can't use the excuse "I don't give way to slow players", which is full of shit already and certainly not right.
Matic seemed to crash trying to escape one of Reirom's many blocks.
Lanz had some problems with that too.
I crashed on a curve. Why? Because Reirom was stopped there after he crashed.
Reirom didn't let Pingu pass was well once in the final curve, though he had like +2 laps and was much faster.
The only ones that didn't have much of a problem passing him (except once on the first curve I think) was dede and Janne. I wonder why. One is the host and the other is his team mate. Yes, Reirom has the ilusion that a 0% contribution makes him part of a team.
I'm not even counting bumps, which happened too. Just blocks.
He will probably blame the rain but I think that is bullshit as well. I hope that he gets banned before the next race because even I am full of him being such a unfair player.
