My point was that maybe it would be fun for pro players like Dede, Tijny, Janne and Mike Nike to be "managers" besides being players.
I mean, maybe it would be a pain in the ass for them, I don't know. The idea of being able to pick players for their potential and see how it goes seems fun enough. Kind of like a horse race hahaha. You have to trust your own feeling, as if you owned a F1 team yourself. Which player to hire? Which not to hire?
Maybe it's too complicated. I hope it happens, though. The competition is there to make it fun enough. I'm sure someone would enjoy saying "I'm the best manager". I don't know.

Well, one of my ideas was exactly that - releasing tracks. But since I know that it was disabled last year, I decided not mention that again. The idea was using last year tracks and just making new pit design for them. Tijny would be saved of hard workdede wrote:The idea of training own drivers is great, but I don't think it makes much sense in a cup with unreleased tracks. You always speak about machine playing if we do that, but let's just remember how first test race was last year. Even we all practised before, race was much better then with unreleased tracks. At least, that's my opinion. F1 races are just to long for some perfections. There are many overlapping, pit stops, overtaking and other stuffs which don't let making one race perfect.
Also, it's much easier to avoid crashes if you know an track well.
So, we just should make one nice track pack which will be used for all next years. That will open a big space for making some tactics and strategies which is pretty closed by released tracks. Of course, new tracks are still welcome and we can always discuss about including some of them before each season (like real FIA do).
Let's just hope that randomizing will be on your side.Tijny wrote:Making the teams could be a problem though. I mean, a very realistic scenario would be that everyone wants REIROM in their team, how are we going to work that out?
Great way to beat that GPRO shit.Tijny wrote:Haha, and then we'd all have to train our drivers.Could be fun.

It would still be fun to have teams anyway. I'm accepting that I have no chance to run for the championship, but it would be nice to help my team win the championship... it gives all the drivers a bit more to play for.dede wrote:The idea of training own drivers is great, but I don't think it makes much sense in a cup with unreleased tracks. I think having 4 or 5 "balanced" teams would be very fun. What could it hurt? C'mon.

I think I might agree with you, it could be nice to release the tracks in the week before a race. For one, because it would provide something new compared to previous seasons; another reason would be the possibility to train with teammates (if we're going to have teams at least), and for me personally it would be better as well since I tend to feel uncomfortable about having tested the tracks beforehand. I don't know, it might even make the gap between the top drivers and the slower guys smaller, since everyone will have had the chance to find the right lines. In my opinion ~50 laps is enough to fully learn a track anyway - driving 10000 more really isn't going to make much of a difference.Whiplash wrote:Well, one of my ideas was exactly that - releasing tracks. As we know, lot of drivers drove millions laps already on them, so it's pretty fair for all.
Anyway, we'll be using new tracks in any case, since most of the "hard work" has already been done.
@ lanz
How many versions of Bödn_GP are you going to upload? I think I already accepted about 8 of them so far
Do you mean reverse race start? Hahah. This is the worst idea of all time.reirom wrote:no team this is bulllshit.
what is the fun dede win all races?
so we need to put dede in 20 place..
and the slow guys like me in pole
i think the worst times in first lines the better times in last.
Who would want to make an unbelievable pole lap and waste fuel only to be rewarded by starting on last place with less fuel and thus minimizing the chances of winning the race? Everybody wanting to win a race would just stop and save fuel. People wouldn't even complete one lap hahaha.
- agree about "well known" released tracks
- disagree about "1 week old" released track (I'll not train... other people maybe yes)
- agree with points for quali
- agree for reverse starting grid only if after first "reirom defense blocking style" the blocker (there's not only reirom... there will be another... a new one
) will be banned without "but"
- disagree with pit fixed position and all other human managed rules
- neutral about team like last year, with 2 players that maybe will never battle between them
- disagree about big team with all problems about "internal fairplay" during battling.
Just race is not enough?
EDIT: Even I agree with old released tracks, I prefer unreleased track
I think there's the same work behind a "1 week" track and a "1 sec" track.

For me the cup was most enjoying because of new tracks every week. But i know this is for the trackmakers lots of work. I dont know how much times it take to make 1 trakc otherwise people who can't make tracks can just make the design. So then its only making the track and you dont have to think about the creativity part etc. Just like this

Or full released tracks pack before league starts. Gpor server could have them all.Tijny wrote:I know that many people don't like to train locally, but what if there was a server running where you can drive the track as much as you want?lux2 wrote:- disagree about "1 week old" released track (I'll not train... other people maybe yes)
