I suppose you are refering to www.tscups.com. Considering that i haven't seen mark burnett in a long time i'm not very suprised the site is down.
if i recall correctly i once looked at his profile (about a month ago) and it sayed he had not logged in for 2 months. So unless someone notyfies him, i doubt it will come back online (wouldn't be suprised if he died or something).

really nice way to say it, really respectfull. i have thought the same thing (considering the terror attacks) but i kept my mouth shut about it for respect.xzeal wrote:I suppose you are refering to www.tscups.com. I cant believe that we've lost it !!!
In past few months there happened some strange things ,but after half day it almost everytime was fixed somehow by someone...but at this time it continues too long!
However,we need another one.
[orange] team made already WWW.OOT.S5.COM in temporary format, but there is only Open Orange Tournaments ( OOT) business...
I have no answer from mark_burnett & [orange] JammyUK (he lives in London) since June 2005.
Damn.

Well sorry, i didn't mean any disrespect or anything, but thats just what we say in estonia, although the translation might be a bit crude.Mouse wrote:xzeal wrote:really nice way to say it, really respectfull. i have thought the same thing (considering the terror attacks) but i kept my mouth shut about it for respect.
Of course i do remain hopefull about marks return, although it has happened people just dissapear for months from TS and then all of a sudden they are back with the weirdest excuses. In the mean time we could sue a replacement site
Well about that oot site, i'm afraid it wont do, if it got no forum. I'll create a site on avidgamers.com, since that would do much better as a temporary site (built in login system and forum) http://tscups.avidgamers.com/
of course this site wont propably do as a long time arrangment, due to the frequent downtime (or so the rumor goes) of avidgamers and slow servers.
i guess the best solution i can think of is we move tscups on a .com site and only 2 people in TS who have a .com site are handsome hall (aka borg aka morpheus) and mike nike. The best solution i cna see is moving it on mikenike.com, since mike is a frequent tournament player and has been involved in tournaments since the very first ones in 0.86b. Of course we have to ask him and he might not be able to.
EDIT: forgot about kobras site, he is a good possibility too and truboslidersbrasil.com is aTS site i left out, but i don't consider it a possibility.
DOUBLE EDIT: Tijny was brainstorming and suggested that jollygoodgames put up a special tournament section on their page.
Official tournaments is something the commmunity has been reaching towards before time was time (in other words for the past 1.5-2 years)
Aaargh, another forum on an another location...xzeal wrote:I'll create a site on avidgamers.com, since that would do much better as a temporary site (built in login system and forum) http://tscups.avidgamers.com/
You're idea is nice, but I think that we could use this JGG -forum for tscups replacement now, until (if ever) the tscups.com comes alive again. Atleast all players who are not so frequently following this forum will know what's going on.
I thought about putting up a forum for the #turbosliders (http://verteksi.net/turbosliders/) but decided agains it because there are so many already. But as I see the TS -sites are dying like flies so maybe the time will come.
What do you mean with move? Who owns the tscups.com domain?xzeal wrote: i guess the best solution i can think of is we move tscups on a .com site.
And are you thinking that "we" move the whole tscups.com with it's content (where to get it?) or just build a new tscups.com? A better one.
They weren't able to divide this turbosliders forum to different categories so... I have some pessimistic ideas of how this JGG and active-non-active players thing would work.xzeal wrote:Tijny was brainstorming and suggested that jollygoodgames put up a special tournament section on their page.
Not much happened in mikenike.com since January 2005...xzeal wrote:The best solution i cna see is moving it on mikenike.com

i hope it is just a "vacation" from TS for mark and jammy, i still wait for mark to appear on MSN one of these days.....
as for mike nike hosting. he is on a vacation currently, he said he would be back in 2 weeks at the least (which would be sunday) , just wanted to let you know this if you did not know already, so dont try contacting him yet.

good point, technically all major tourament hosters who are active have made their own site by now and can do their business from there or something.Hengari wrote:

But on the other hand a forum for tscups is more like announcements and questions and answers.
well considering the huge drop of activness on part of tscups and jgg being the official and all. You're idea is nice, but I think that we could use this JGG -forum for tscups replacement now, until (if ever) the tscups.com comes alive again. mark burnett owns it and thats the problem. well my point was a .com site (or .net or .org or whatever) is much more reliable and closer to "official" tournaments. What do you mean with move? Who owns the tscups.com domain?
And are you thinking that "we" move the whole tscups.com with it's content (where to get it?) or just build a new tscups.com? A better one.
And i was thinking we build a new one since getting all the data back and.... ohh lets make sure where mark is before we do that. and under "we" i mean anyone motivated and resourceful enough.
Well we need some solution or ts tournaments will die for the second time.
That was not what I meant. I was kind of referring to Creator's first post in the JGG Support Requests topic:xzeal wrote:DOUBLE EDIT: Tijny was brainstorming and suggested that jollygoodgames put up a special tournament section on their page.
A renewed version of TSCups.com will definitely fall into this category, so I guess all that needs to be done is someone taking the initiative and getting in touch with JGG. I'm not that much of a web-guru myself though - maybe Mike Nike could do this when he's back from vacation.Creator wrote:However - if anyone wants to run a Turbo Sliders fansite, we will provide free full-featured hosting. And this doesn't mean we'll pick one site... we will support everyone who wants to run a Turbo Sliders website.
