TS tracks review

Post by Hengari » Mon Sep 05, 2005 9:15 pm

For a second time now I have driven some of Turbo Sliders tracks and made a short list of tracks qualities in scale of:
- drive: driveability, max 4 points
- fun: fun to drive, max 3 points
- style: beauty of design, max 3 points
- ovr: overal points, max 10 points

The lists are:
- http://verteksi.net/turbosliders/files/ ... review.txt
- http://verteksi.net/turbosliders/files/ ... sorted.txt

Tracks are in zip-packages:
- http://verteksi.net/turbosliders/files/ ... tracks.zip
- http://verteksi.net/turbosliders/files/ ... tracks.zip

The meaning of these lists are that we get better tracks for the PTX -servers and so the tracks are divided in Racing and Fun -tracks.

Last time I made a post under another topic but a new topic will maybe give some feedback of track selections for Racing and Fun -categories. I have mostly made selections for those categories myself but also listened for some players for their opinions.

I know that it's not possible to please everyone so I'm open to suggestions but someone has to make the decisions. For the track makers that think their tracks are unjustly reviewed: "elämä on - the life is"

Also Jarno has reviewed some tracks (http://www.maunokasa.tk/ and I have given some thoughts for tracks considering Jarnos review.

This is nice work you're doing. I guess the best thing would be a voting system of some kind, but still this is good work.

You might want to check out my newest track? Prettiest design so far  : http://hem.spray.se/dby/ts/Dby-Gembender_raceway.zip

also you should know this - Andy is also know as Mouse  hehe and those tracks are for nascar league races also, so not too much fun with other cars.

Heh, Damn you double-named :)
I knew that those were for the nascar, but I decided to review all tracks considering the point of driving it with slider.

Thanks. The voting system would be nice, but there are so many tracks that it takes time to do the voting system nicely and to make it work ok.

I have a working voting-system for my own tracks which is not so nicely done. Maybe I develope it to contain other tracks also. But this far this is the easiest way to do it.

We could ask Jollygood to set up a separate "new tracks" section in the forum. When a new track is published someone just add a poll for it, following instructions of a sticky topic.

Though I think it's only possible to vote for one thing in each poll, so we couldn't judge "drive", "fun" and "style" like you've done. Maybe it's possible for jollygood to add multiple categories function in the forum polls?

Would take an awful lot of time to add and vote for all current tracks. :P

But it could be worth it. I wouldn't mind some more feedback, as I've got plans to upgrade some of my tracks later on.

well in a way i am double named. when i first played the game i used Andy as my nick. after a few days i changed it to Mouse, though the default track editor name was still Andy. though now i have changed it to Mouse. so most of my tracks say Made by Andy.

also i never use any other nicks while playing. only RedBull Mouse for TSB F1 races. also a tag if i am in team cups.
