First sponsored TS race with money price?... nice, I think.

Something like this but with cup-styled could be nice to have in Europe also.

I dont think JJG cares europe because a sponsored cup have been required for PUNA WC but NOTHING....
Money are so bad price, better something else....

If something will be done in europe too (JJG?) let s find a better price we are not so poor and i don t think Tijny needs money

so 20 dollars for the one that destroys his fingers?
Hmm.. I'll think about asking for a sponsorship for next Six Nations.

Oh come on... have we really sunk so low that we are going to race for money and not for fun? Occasional prized cups might be interesting, but that's about all.

This is true. This shouldn't get too seriously. Of course once in a year or something would be good to organisize that kind of thing but that's it. This game is all about driving fun and lets keep it that way.

I'm kind of surprised of the negative tone of this message thread. We tried a new thing, that's all. We've sponsored free licenses for demo cups but I felt it was nice to have something for the full version players too. Not sure if we will do this again or not... it was a test, like I said.

As for not caring about Europe or PunaBall. I've never turned down a request to sponsor a TS competition, so I have no idea what you're talking about.

Now, now... no need to be jealous. It is probably because Europe didn't ask them. And about the negativity: money is EVIL! EVIL i tell ya :)...

We all were taken by suprise. This is new to TS and something to think about. I don't think the messages were meant to be negative. I think that was nice to sponsor a race and those demo-competitions are good way to get more players to full version.

1. Brazilians have great community and have (i think) lots of cups as of in Europe players are not so organized and cups are difficult to organize. They have done a lot for tracks, competitions and such.

2. Stop repeating that you're doing everything. We all know that you have done much and that is good but there are others and would be many more if finnish ISPs weren't so bitchy.

3. Money has a nice sound for price and if you want something else to have for prizepool, give some examples. Money is easier to transfer than t-shirts or coffee mugs (though that TS coffee mug would be so cool :))

Ok, but this race will be restricted to 20 players maximum, isn't it? It won't be fun for many players, then. But let's see how it goes.

You don't need to have a provider that allows you making a server: you can organise a cup and ask for someone that hosts. Just ask, and you'll find a lot of servers for your cups.

This has been discussed earlier. It just doesn't work like that.

So, how does it work? If you organise a cup, what's the difference if you host or another player does? I don't see the difference, sorry. Oh well.. there is a difference: you aren't the admin of the server. But you can ask to server owner to add you as admin. So everything will work as a normal server hosted by you.

If you want to organise something, my server is available.

I really don't think these kind of money-cups will be very common. The game surely is for fun, but why not try something to cheer up the community...
Ippon-wazaari wrote:Anyway u should replace money with something else!!!
I agree that some TS-related merchandise or something like that would be cooler than plain money, but
Hengari wrote:Money is easier to transfer than t-shirts or coffee mugs

IMO the best way to give credit for winning cups, would be some kind of a ultimate TS ranking. Similar to the racedb that we have at turbolovers.org, but based on official cups/league on some official server. Eventually, what else are we trying to achieve than fame, glory and respect (except to have fun).

It would be nice to have some sort of event where the winner gets some sort of prize. Or better - the podium gets prizes. Some sort of online cash, $20 at the TS store or something.

1st - $20
2nd - $10
3rd - $5

I agree this should not happen often, but a few times per year could be very nice. In the future i would like to host an event, where the top 3 gets prizes, i need to think about it though. And by future i mean months.
We tried a new thing, that's all.
With this toughts i got the idea to make a 250 laps race, i know this is something never tried to "pitstops" TS.
Something new that nobody could predict how the race would be.
The cars and track were published to players 1 hour before the race time altough the misterious 250 laps race were announced 2 weeks earlier.

The money prize became popular and even demo players wanted to join the race, but when they know that just full players would be allowed they became disapointed, some of them said they would buy the game but i don't know if they did it.

For those who said the race were for money, ok, we raced 250 laps, 2hours and 30minutes to win! Just 4 drivers quited the race before it ends because of their fingers+eyes aching. :D

The next 250 laps race is already scheduled with no prize, let's see if it will be also popular.

If this worked, so it was a good idea: more full players and more money for JGG. But still.. 20 players only can join the race. How did u decide who let play and who not?

I made a plan B if more than 20 players showed up to play. The cup would be divided in 2 qualifying aces of 100 laps, then, the first 10 of each qualify play the 250 lap race, of course, not at the same day.

true, because 99% of eruopean player like only standard cars, and how you can see brasilian community use lots of new cars-track making style-and not boring basical.little size.max 30secs.fast to download tracks

this is the reason why brasilian community is realy big!

I haven't played lot in TSB-servers but the tracks which I have seen weren't longer than about 30s. I wouldn't say that 99% of European players like just the default cars. There just isn't cups or servers to play with other cars. People are saying this and that and aren't doing anything. Just organize a cup using some other car than default and then you can be like Brazilians. For example that kart-cup was nice and there were lots of drivers.

And those photoshopped tracks aren't so nice than many may think. The traditional way is better.
Jazzyclub wrote:this is the reason why brasilian community is realy big!
Brazialians are just more united than Europeans and they have opportunities to have good servers for cups. I wouldn't say that more cars and bigger tracks are the reasons.
