I want to make it clear that i didn't want to upset anyone with my previous post, i just gave my honest opinion about the situation and it was never my intention to criticize the organizer, as i tried to explain in the last paragraph of that post.
Hope there was no misunderstanding about my words in that post.
Let's go forward then, i agree entirely with the schedule proposed

3 days for the semi-finals and I already started probing some players. This is one of the sacred monsters of punaball, Dede. For many players, he is considered to be one of the best punaballers; always impresses with his experience and technique that shows on the field.
We did an interview with this great player who makes the preview of the semi-final next Monday
Dede, what is your overall opinion about this League?
Dede: I appreciated the efforts that organizers did put to schedule everything, to make statistics and such. Unluckily it has been confirmed that it's way too hard to plan matches. Only few matches remained unplayed, it's still a good result!
Are you satisfied with your performance? Xzeal is currently the topscorer and olio the player with the most assists...
Dede: So far I'm very satisfied of my mates. If it was up to me, I would've put olio in A group - but maybe it's just because I overestimate him. And well, xzeal is a very good player, solid in defense and consistent in attack. Dream team? We'll see..
As you are in the League phase winner team, what's your balance about those games? Was it all that easy?
Dede:I played just two games, one with olio and one with xzeal. They were both easy matches, I never felt under pressure like when playing against top teams such as Tijny&Badeend or Badeend&Tijny. But I must admit that we played a solid PunaBall, I'm satisfied of our team, and not disappointed about other teams.
In your opinion, which team is the favorite to win the finals?
Dede:I hope that olio&xzeal can manage to win the League finals, so I could finally win a PB cup after years from my first and only victory. But Fama&Jan can be hard opponents if Jan finds back the consistency he had few months ago. And obviously if he stops defending backwards!
What are your expectations for the semi finals against Stealth's Team? Any weakness that you'll explore more?
Dede:It's hard to tell how good or bad is that team. KoO is an excellent player and together wtih Stealth could for a good team. Stealth is a bit unconsistent and sometime predictable. Popo is considered one of worst PB players of the moment, but I remember we played great in a cup together, so I don't expect to dominate the game 10-0. But hey, we'll see soon!

One of the League's revelations, Szymek was born in Poland and he started to play punaball in December 2009 but since then he didn't play till September 2012. His team finished the league phase with an average performance, but in the 2 games that they've won, Szymek, was present.
He developed a lot as a player lately, and it seems that is some "aura" thing surrounding this player. One thing we're sure: he is not here just to have fun. Let's get to know him!
Szymek, what is your overall opinion about this League?
Szymek: This League is great idea! We don't have many cups in TS - each one is good thing. When people see that we have some competitions, there are more chances they'll play longer.
Also, I enjoy the format of PB League. It's great opportunity for newbies (like me) to play with experienced teammates. Besides that it's more interesting to follow this competition - with balanced teams it's harder to predict who'll win
Are you satisfied with your performance so far, as you are 100% victorious?
Szymek: Yep, 2 games & 2 wins Very Happy Of course, this result wouldn't be possible without the help of my mates but I feel I play better and better in each match.
Do you feel that, as you are a newcomer, you developed your skills by playing with more experienced players?
Szymek: Yeah! I improved a lot my skill during games against experienced players. For me it's the best way to learn how to play puna. Even if you know basics of the game, you for sure can develop your abilities, e.g. you can see tricks of "pro" players.
In your opinion, which team is the favorite to win the finals?
Szymek:I don't know how play our rivals but Dede's team seems the strongest!
What are your expectations for the semi finals against Dide's team?
Szymek: With a bit of luck (some call it "aura") everything is possible. If we do our best, we'll beat them.

Teams: Punaball Semi-Finals & the Gran Finale of 2012 will be played tonight (20:00 CET - Central European Time).
Reminder: The loser team of game 1 will play with the loser of game 2 to decide the 3rd and the 4th place!
Rules: "Best of 3 matches, and group B player has to play in at least 1 match per semi-final. The same rule applies for the final to be fair". If you win/lose the first 2 matches and the group b player hasn't played yet, he plays on the next game (1st game of the Final or 3rd/4th place). If someone don't show up, continue playing with the players that are present.
Good luck & have fun!

Just to make sure, because this didn't quite open to me.Famagusta$ wrote:Rules: "Best of 3 matches, and group B player has to play in at least 1 match per semi-final. Semi: A+A lose, A+A lose
Final A+B lose, A+A lose
What if
Semi: B+A lose, A+A lose
Final: A+A lose, A+A lose ?
If in the above case Group B player has to play in the final aswell that would be quite odd, as the play order could determine how many matches Group B player would play.
I dont' want to complain, but wouldn't it be more clear to make it so that the Group B player has to play at least one match in semis and at least one match in the final/bronze games no matter if it ends up being 2 or 3 matches? If part of this is to get Group B players to play against pro's, why is it so that when the "real" games begin, they might only play one match in the whole semi/finals stage? Of course its good for us, if dede&xzeal play almost all of the matches
Most simple solution would be that the group B player must play at least in either of the first 2 matches in both semi and the final. That way it doesn't matter if it ends up being 2 or 3 games.olio wrote:Just to make sure, because this didn't quite open to me.Famagusta$ wrote:Rules: "Best of 3 matches, and group B player has to play in at least 1 match per semi-final. EDIT: Oh yes, that's exactly what you meant, olio. Maybe I should've read that more carefully.

Congratulations everyone for participating in this Punaball Winter League 2012.
For me, i must say it was a very good experience despite all, since it was my first experience as an organizer. There was some nice and less nice stuff but my overall opinion is very good though. Jan was a great help as well, so thanks mate.
Congratulations for the Winners stealth, popo and kooler. They were solid as rocks and it was very hard for me to pass through their wall of china! but they played very well and i think their styles fit well
Congratulations to my team too, Jan did very well, specially in these semis and final games. Szymek developed as a player and that's very nice to know! Fama as topscorer, only because Tijny was not present! hehe
One thing that was good here: No one expected them to win, so they are like Chelsea in the previous year, and popo is Drogba (or not...) but stealth defended everything!
I hope you had fun while playing in this League guys, from my part i wish everyone a merry xmas with peace and only good stuff for you and your families.
Maybe Dede can organize a quick puna xmas edition in the next week hehe
Cheers everyone

All I know is that this will blow up his ego even more and that he's never ever ever ever going to stop talking about this cup win, ever. If I had known nobody would be able to stop popo, I would've joined this cup myself.Pingu wrote:Yea still thanks for organising the cup! Some surprising final results! I guess this confirms popo is as good as he says.

I'm not pissed, I'm just... disappoint. In the other 5 teams. Especially the [+] beefsteaks, and most of all dede. Actually only dede. He had no stress of organizing so he should've just led his team to victory. Seems patetic![gasp]poppowitch wrote:No worry T...
it honors me even more when you are pissed because of our victory!!! BUehuaeuhuahe
Awesome!!!
