Control Point

Post by Jeffrey » Fri Feb 10, 2006 7:04 pm

Hi have noticed this problem, hope something can be done. Soon in the next version of turbo sliders the game will support refueling in pits.

So i have made my tracks with pit stops. The problem is this.

The pit stop is generally near the start/finish line. You can create the control pont only horizontally or vertically and then use StartDirection to place the cars on grid.

But i noticed that when you create straights not perfectly horizontally or vertically, passing from pits or certain parts of the tracks can result in a better lap time/record or even win the game.

Hope you get my point

Well Jeffrey, remember that if you finish a lap early (shortcut) it means you started it late. Checklines can be a hastle sometimes, but not a big deal, me me anyway. Also, not many drivers look at the checklines before each race to know where they are.

Would be nice for a fix, but for me other things come before it.

A problem to be solved

Post by Jeffrey » Fri Feb 10, 2006 11:42 pm

Yes normal players, maybe don t know where checkpoints are beacause they never messed up with editor.

It will effect me beacause i intend to do 10 mins qualifying, to determine the grid. The last two with the worst laptime will not qualify for race. So being fair with everyone is important. And this could be easily recognised because if you don't create the finish line not perfectly horizontally or vertically.

I think this is a small think, i think just some code and control points can be rotated.

Also about the pit stops. Mouse you told me that in the next version pitstop must be only horizontally or verticaly, and to tilts. I don t like this cause if you are designing a real track this will be a problem.

Not if you rotate the track, then problem solved (with PS tracks so easy).

in this way you are limited from horizzontal and vertical starting grid, in this way the row stardirection is useles.. or can become...
